  • Join us on our thrilling journey through the stunning Abacos as we sail towards the famous swimming pigs at No Name Cay! With my brother along for the ride, we delve into remote islands, snagging lots of lobster and even scoring a mackerel for dinner while trawling our line. Watch as James and my brother demonstrate lobster preparation and fish filleting, plus James tackles fuel tank maintenance. Don't miss out on a week's worth of action-packed exploration! Sadly, it's time for my brother Marcus to bid farewell, but the memories and good times remain. Subscribe for more adventures and share your thoughts in the comments below!

    Salt water and electronics rarely mix and the ocean is not friendly with our gear. Things are constantly breaking or rusting apart. These are a few of the things we hope to get to keep bringing Sailing Zephyr to you.

      @@Kevinplettenbergbay hi Kevin! Not yet…this was filmed before your advice. We normally run a couple of episodes in front so we aren’t week to week with filming and editing. So we def just got lucky with this one…at this point we didn’t know what we were doing. From now on though going to do as you suggested!!! Can’t wait !

    So glad the pigs were nice to you! Years ago when we took our dinghy there we didn’t know we were supposed to bring them food. They let us know how unhappy they were with us 😜 glad to see you all catching your meals and enjoying the beautiful Abacos!

      Oh wow! yeah, its funny because we did hear stories about these pigs being a little on the aggressive side...but they were very chill with us! Glad that you got to visit the piglets too! so cute! Love reading your comments!

    I think I heard SV Delos say that they always fill their diesel tanks with jerrycans, 'polishing' the fuel before it gets in their tanks. Seems like a pain in the butt. But Brian says that he never had a fuel contamination problem in their many years of cruising.

    • @SailingZephyr
      @SailingZephyr  Před 2 měsíci +1

      yeah I think we have seen that episode too where he talks about it! Yeah it's not a bad idea for sure....sounds like a lot of work! So much easier to just pull up at the dock and get diesel in the tanks and in the jerrycans! But maybe it's what we are doing wrong! Cheers for watching! See you next Friday!

    We never add fuel without also adding biobor additive. It is suppose to inhibit organic growth. I guess it works, haven’t cleaned out the fuel tanks in 5 years and never clog filters!

    • @SailingZephyr
      @SailingZephyr  Před 2 měsíci

      We will check that out! I think we added something similar when we were in St. Maarten! We will be ordering some from now on! Thanks for the tip! Cheers! Where are u guys? Bahamas too?

    You need a new knife for filleting, they need to be very sharp.

    • @SailingZephyr
      @SailingZephyr  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Too right! It's been a struggle lately and we tried sharpening it! cheers for watching!

  • @saildreamer
    @saildreamer Před 2 měsíci +1

    Your fillet knife needs to be really sharp. Do not cut or saw with it, just gently slice along the bones. You should be able to hear or feel the blade ping off the bones. czcams.com/video/uXSgGtMkgro/video.html
