    Turns out it was the Cardan joint that failed not one of my axle joints. Sure glad you made these videos sir
    Excellent work.

    I bought the Lincoln 5806 6" Grease Needle Nozzle 1/8" NPT Female Thread from ebay and you can grease the joint without bending the needle and I was able to use my grease gun that has the flexible hose, I have a 2018 2500 and it has the manual shift for the transfer case so my shaft doesn't turn all the time but only when it's in 4 wheel drive. I have read in some of the comments that the shaft turns all the time but that's not true. If you can turn your shaft by hand without your front tires off the ground then you don't have to worry as much about the joint compared to one that turns all the time but I still grease or check mine every time I chg my oil.

      My fitting broke off so I just use the needle. I just put free-spin locking hubs on mine so my dosen't turn anymore unless its in 4x4

    My truck has a grinding noise coming from the transfer case, when I looked underneath I noticed my front drive shaft spins completely at the expansion joint in the shaft, is this suppose to spin here? Or has the driveshaft gone bad ?

    What was your truck doing to let you know this joint was bad? my 2006 ram 3500 pops in 4 wheel drive with the wheels turned. it does it going forward or backward. my front axel joints are pretty new and im not seeing any issues with the other u joints. i replaced all the driveline u joints several years ago but i have never greased that cardan ball. i am wondering if it is binding causing my popping. thanks

      I had a light vibration. Check your break caliper and caliper bracket and shocks. Check lug nuts also but I bet you got a axle ujoint going out.

    At 10:15, I for the life of me cannot remove the joint from the axle. It binds and stops. I ground the old one to get it out. The new one fell right in, but the grease zerk is in the way and I can't get the new one out, just like the old one. What might I be doing wrong? I tried the whole twist and spin. You made it look too easy. Lol

    • @isolateddieselperformance3261
      @isolateddieselperformance3261  Před 3 lety

      Push one end of the joint as far back in the hole as you can and start to spin it before you start pulling it out. Hope that makes sense. All caps will have to be removed before you can pull it out.

    • @bayouboattrash
      @bayouboattrash Před 3 lety

      @@isolateddieselperformance3261 I had all the caps off and it was as far back as I could. I must be doing something else wrong lol. I'll look at it tomorrow and figure where I'm messing it up. You make it look so simple.

      @isolateddieselperformance3261  Před 3 lety +1

      Might be a dumb question here but did you try pulling it out the other side to see if you have more room. Really don't make sense why it's not coming out. Should come right out.

      @@isolateddieselperformance3261 yeah, tried both sides. Mines an 04 if that makes a difference.

      That shouldn't make a difference. Not sure whats going on with yours.

    great vid , how did you get it out of the truck , from the transfer case side?

    • @isolateddieselperformance3261
      @isolateddieselperformance3261  Před 3 lety +1

      You talking about how to get to the bolts easy?

    • @patriotveteranauto
      @patriotveteranauto Před 3 lety

      @@isolateddieselperformance3261 yes sir , the bolts on transfer case side is blocked , by the support. and mine has 15mm bolts but it’s 2016 2500 .

    • @isolateddieselperformance3261
      @isolateddieselperformance3261  Před 3 lety

      @Joey Kostenbader You might have to use a wrench instead of a socket and ratchet. Lift front left tire off the ground and spin the tire to get the driveshaft to start spinning and stop it when you can get two bolts out. Lower tire back on the ground and take them two out. Lift tire back up and repeat process for the other two. Thats how I've always done it. Its a pain but it's the only way without removing the support or using a pry bar to hold the shaft after you drop the front first but pry bar doesn't always work.

      Call your dealership and give them your vin# and tell them you need the part numbers. Cross reference it with the aftermarket parts you want. Rockauto has factory part numbers listed with the aftermarket parts they sell. Good place to buy if you get the name brand

    No need to mark the shaft its balanced to its self and has nothing to do with the yoke. Drive shafts are balanced at the factory without the yokes. FYI jyst put'er on n giver shit😊
