Comparing Tyler’s earlier albums to his more recent ones, you can tell from the production it’s the same person but he’s definitely improved his sound and lyrically it’s much better now. There were some very quotable lines on his early albums but a lot of it felt like he was trying too hard to be controversial or edgy, now he feels more true to himself and personal in his lyrics and the times he does go over the top really serve a purpose.

The upside being that the few people who do enjoy it only have one place they can get it. Thus creating a cult classic.

I fell like that you can't enjoy all tyler's songs and music if you are not a fan... once you get into it you can appreciate all the nuances but tony ratings comes from a different perspective and it's totally valid
absolutely outrageous that he scored Grinch and Wolf so low... plus Cherry Bomb does have bad mixing yes but it has some of tyler's best songs... just so happens to have some of his worst too but I think a 3 is super a harsh, maybe a 6/7? He also put an insane amount of effort into CB which you can see from the documentary which I'd be surprised if Antony had watched it

- CB: 10/10 (Not skipless or flawless but still great. Went from a 5/10 to a 10 for me)
- FB: 10/10 (probably my favourite Tyler album. Literally flawless)
- Grinch EP: 9/10 (I just love the instrumentals)
- IGOR: 10/10 (again, its also flawless)
- CMIYGL: 10/10 (and again, flawless. The Estate Sale too)

Because Wolf has more underlying messages within the music and little bit more complex storytelling compared to Bastard and Fantano is not somebody who puts any effort into reading between the lines and rather he appreciates what is given to him, rather than the intricacies of it. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying music the way he does, but it would cause somebody to prefer something like Bastard to Wolf.
