MRK You have iris scanner and face recognition. Ever had a situation where your finger is wet and you tried to wipe your fingers in order to unlock? Now, you can get your hands wet and still unlock. Think about why Samsung located the finger print sensor on the back of the phone. They clearly want to fade out that technology because now you have more responsive and secure way of unlocking your phone. If they relocated without iris scanner and face recognition, it clearly would have been a stupidest choice but in this case, it is a very smart move. Please stop complaining and just be happy that you have 2 more ways to unlock your smartphone.
박도현 Yes. I've been saying the same thing. I think most people complaining about the fingerprint scanner location didn't get to experience the iris scanner on the Note 7. It was my favorite part of the phone! Also its location makes sense ergonomically (if you're right-handed, that is).

I have the Orchid gray (or grey as we say in the UK) on pre-order. I was at the launch in London and the black was constantly getting wiped clean by the staff where as the grey had little finger print mess going on.

They should do a RED, BLUE, WHITE, PINK or ROSE GOLD (as most companies are calling pink), GREEN, YELLOW AND PURPLE. With one of them have a MATCHING front and back facing COLOR, hoping that matching color is RED or BLUE but will probably be WHITE. This will probably be a Limited Edition. What would be a very very cool "Limited Edition" version would a RAINBOW color edition but just not sure how it would work or look.

It made me think a little bit more. At first I really wanted to buy the silver color option for GS8, but Europe doesn't have it at least for now. It had some strange dots or lines across the back which gave some premium feeling and not to mention I love how this colour switches it's shade depending on which part or side you look. And it's still hard to describe it 😁 The same day I saw it in Samsung store I pre-ordered it. Can't wait for the 19th!!

I think they put the fingerprint that way because they are moving to iris scan... And possibly getting rid of it in the near future (if they cant find a way to put the finger sensor beneath the display this is very possible)

As far as onlookers know, you might just be holding another plastic phone. The black is the only one that, when someone sees it from the front, won't stand out as a premium phone with metal chassis.

It was put on the back because the engineers ran out of time for designing a way to put it underneath the display.

If you have large hands, like me, fingerprint sensor will be no problem. Although the sensor position is still a bit weird.
