- I review the SteeTek KVM switch and it's perfect for me and you too if you want to combine your two computers using just one keyboard, Video, & Mouse (KVM).

I just recently bought this exact product.
It works great, and having both computers running at once on a single desk and being able to change at a click of a button is a game changer!
Absolutely, I still use it to this day and love it. Thanks for nice the comment.
I was just thinking about getting myself a gaming PC (apart from my Mac) and didn't even think about the whole screen, keyboard, mouse, situation until I saw this video. This just solved a problem I didn't even know I had! Again, awesome video Ken! Love seeing the SUB count go up as the LBS go down 👍🏻👍🏻 “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, All play and no work makes Jack a mere toy.”
Hey Rico, please don't copyright strike me because I used a part of your podcast in my video. But I'm glad you like the video and I'm glad I could help you with some ideas.

Awesome video!
Thank you, sir. I appreciate kind words.
Thank you. I found the Steetek PWAYTEK for sale on amazon. my current switch glitches occasionally causing windows to lose connection until restarted.
That's great, I hope this one works great for you.
I just got the 4 port @ 60hz usb 2.0. you don't really need 3.0 because the stuff you'll be plugging in there is really just keyboards and pointing devices. great review!!
Thank you, and you are right if you are only using keyboards and mice as they don't need the faster speed.
Hey I have a question that I wasn't able to find the answer for anywhere.
Are you able to switch the displays and USB/Keyboard separately?
in other words, Is there a way to only switch my mouse and keyboard while keeping the displays the same?
If not would you recommend I get a display only KVM switch and a separate USB 3.0 switch?
Yeah, I recommend going with the latter as all I know is the current KVM Switch I have doesn't switch independently the mouse and not the displays.
Ordered what appears to be the new version of this and they added a remote button to switch between pc’s. I am looking at doing exactly what you did. The only issue is my work laptop will be 1080 @ 60hz and my home pc is 4K at 120hz or more.
Man, that's awesome. If there was one thing I would change on this it would be to have a remote button so that I could hide the box and cables to make my desk cleaner. Good luck, I love mine still to this day.
i cant figure out how to set mine up. can you please do a video on how to set it up?! on my tower PC works with both monitors. the laptop will not work with both monitors.
You know what, I will give it a shot. May take a few weeks but I'll get one up.
While connected to PC2, does PC1 still detect monitors?
I have 4 screens, upgrading to 6. My current KVM switch takes ~10-30+ seconds to adjust while figuring out what screens are connected
While I can't speak for 6 monitors I can say that when I switch from pc1 to pc2, pc1 still thinks there are the 2 extra monitors. I mean when I switch it doesn't consolidate my 2 other screens into 1, if that's what you mean?
@@KenPeriman If the KVM is connected to PC2, can you move PC1’s mouse onto the 2 “ghost” screens?
@@KenPeriman alternatively; if the KVM is connected to PC2, does PC1’s display settings show the extra screens as active?
Yes, as it also does not consolidate the screens into the laptop's screen, so I will assume it continues to see 3 screens while not active via the KVM switch.

Can you double check? 🤠 buying a test one right now
