Little chunky girl!😂😂😂 I love chunky horses! I love hand walking! I have 2 senior horses and they have run in stalls with an attached paddock, so when they are 'in' they can go inside or outside whenever they want. And as long as it isn't a blizzard, they get turned out into separate pastures, I sure hope they are! during the day. They both seem to be happy, and happy with their lives! Their stalls are bedded with shavings, and they have access to hay most of the day and night via hay nets to keep them eating slower. Thank you for this video! 😍😍😍

I love that! I have seen your set up in your videos and I think it's great!

In the summer they are all out to pastures 24/7 and in the winter they are in a smaller out side pasture with a huge run in, if it is really terrible weather as it can be in northern Canada, we will put them in the barn only if it’s around -25 or -30 as they do have a place to hide from bad weather!

And they are blanketed depending on the temperature, we don’t blanket them at all in the summer or fall so they all grow very nice winter coats

That sounds fantastic! Yes it has to be a balance and each horse is different. Like the one older guy I showed in this video, he wears a blanket because he is a hard keeper and I don't want him to lose any weight, and he tends to get cold compared to the other horses. Thanks for encouragement to get another video out. The all weather paddock video is still in the works!

ShadeTreeStables yes many older horses who need to keep weight should be blanketed when its chilly! The oldest horse at the farm right now is only 22 years old and still does easier classes with some kiddos!

@@katiebutland292 that's great! I work with a lot of senior horses. I have ones that are 28 and 34!
