Shame that the last race for the beautiful sounding Ferrari V12 ended with Berger’s engine going POOF. And yes, we’re all for here for Murray screaming ‘OOOOOARGH!!!’ at DC binning it in the pits. 😂
Well, if more people had actually turned up to the event and had Adelaide not procrastinated on signing a new contract, perhaps it would still be in Adelaide (or at the least, it would have remained for longer). I remember in 1995 the crowds were massive and thinking to myself "well, perhaps if you'd done this in prior years you wouldn't have lost it". Personally, having attended both Adelaide and Melbourne, I put my vote in for Melbourne being better. Not just the event atmosphere, but being able to enjoy the city of Melbourne itself (which is far superior to Adelaide).
I never liked Melbourne. The only thing interesting about it is the huge back stretch where the cars take a broad sweeping turn to the left before they reach the very tight corner that goes right/left/right. Overall, a lazy design that has almost nothing to offer. I watched only one race there and it was so dull that I never watched the Australian GP since.
I have to say this Williams were kinda slow almost dumb with there strategies compared to Benetton when you re watch the season it’s obvious they let Hill down not the other way round and that the Williams car was a nervous car hard to drive fast David was no where most the year with couldn’t even drive it fast Damon did a good job considering these factors everyone praises Michael but there is definitely a perspective not been noticed. To prove why couldn’t David beat most the other drivers and he was considered pretty good people were all to busy idolising Schumacher. The Williams team sucked in reality.
100% agree. Not only that but there was a couple of occasions that the Williams car failed but the team didn't immediately acknowledge it. Germany for example, Hill got the best start and was streaking away from Schumacher before spinning at T1 on the 2nd lap. Everyone was led to believe that Hill had dropped it but the driveshaft had actually failed. It was car error not driver error but Williams did not admit that until way way after the event, that potentially cost Hill 10 points. He was also destroying Schumacher in Brazil before his gearbox failed and lost him a certain 10 points, he had a car failure at Canada meaning he scored nothing and lost his hydraulics on the last lap at Spain dropping him from 2nd to 4th. Yes Hill made mistakes but these were mainly in desperation after the failures of the car had handed Schumacher the championship lead. Let's also not forget Schumacher's disgraceful driving standards at Spa were he twice forced Hill off the track. Hill did a much better job in 95 then a lot people (usually the Schumacher cultists) give him credit for.
@@jarrenSA-ENG Had he not lost points through retirement or strategy, he would have still been in contention at the end of the year. That said, he did make mistakes at some points
Simple, he had NO competition. DC crashed and he was leading Hill by a HUGE margin in the opening laps. All the others who could wipe the floor with Hill had mechanical failures.
@@largol33t12 Not sure how your question is relevant to a 'situational' event. I'll say again, not really DC's fault though. It happened to numerous drivers that day. Perhaps you might want to check out the other drivers who fell fowl to same corner. Clearly you have no clue as to how close the 2001 season could have been and in my opinion, without the bad luck DC got that season, he would have been WDC. In 2001 you can blame McLaren's failed launch control (how many times did Coulthard have to start from the back because of it), traction control and unreliable engines. 4x retirements. Canada, engine expired; Britain, taken out by Trulli; Germany, engine expired; Italy, engine expired. Remembering, after the first four races, Schumacher and Coulthard were level on points. And also not forgetting Coulthard had pole for Monaco and would surely have won had it not been for his launch control on the parade lap, which relegated him to the back of the grid and then an agonizing race to even make it up to 5th place. Conclusively, if you think DC was an average driver and not capable of winning a WDC, then you know nothing about him or even F1 for that matter.

Great race from a wonderful period
Adelaide amazing circiut f1 need back there
Hill, Panis, Morbidelli... wow
When nobody can seem to finish the race, that's what you get...
Panis nursing a broken car in the final laps to retain second. Legend.
Adelaide was always exciting. Melbourne almost always dull.

This track is so much better than Melbourne.

Em 1995 a Willians já tinha um carro totalmente remodelado. Imagino o Senna ganhando todas as corridas. Seria incrível
Pedro Lamy 6th and Diniz's Forti 7th
Just bring Adelaide back!!
And atmo engines

France has only one world champion. Panis was good though, could’ve done well in the standings in 1997 if not for his accident
The ONLY highlight to remember is arrogant David Coulthard crashing in the PITS. How the hell does that even happen??
Jean Alesi came to the pits with a damaged front wing and a damaged suspension and still made the turn. It made DC crash look a lot more clumsy.
Not really DC's fault though. It happened to numerous drivers that day.

Williams were laughable in 1995, but they received little to no criticism because they were a British team with two British drivers
Why didn't Hill perform like this earlier on in that season? Was such a dominant win by Hill this day.
