- We're running out of firewood, what can we do?
In this chapter we sum up pretty much of what it's like to live on a farmstead in the woods of Sweden.
It's been a year since we started the experiment of living both in Denmark and in Sweden, and we are only getting deeper and deeper in to the wonderful rabbit hole of slow living, cheering in tea with fika and sailing off into the sunset.
Balancing our businesses, the work on the farmstead and everyday adventures is a journey.
So many of you have expressed what it gives you, to watch us unfold our dreams here, and we are beyond grateful!

I just discovered your channel, and subscribed. It reminds me of my childhood when we would go to the lake house and camping. Seemed everyone was happier like you and Julian. To observe this beautiful nature over the seasons. This harmony that unites you, between you and also with the surroundings, with a pleasure to live in this context. I think what’s also exciting is that you show that you can dare to live in a paradise, and in a way by choosing to be amazed, simply. Daring to live differently from the long imposed model: that of a dull life and slave of a system. More and more people, especially young people, are moving towards this choice of quality of life . And it’s always rewarding to see it, like here, with you.

I hope one day I will have a little house in sweden. I live in Denmark and we have a lot of beautiful nature and I descover new nature every day. But it's not the same as in sweden. Unless it's by Himmelbjerget then it's almost like sweden when you see the view 😆🌷

So I've been binge-watching your videos since yesterday, and I loved every single one of them (after I'm done with the comment I'll move onto the second channel to check it out) but first, I'd like some input on your part (or anyone reading this comment really), if you don't mind.
For about a year now I have been wanting to move to Sweden to get some peace. My life has been chaotic in the past few years, I am living abroad (I am french but live in mexico) and I feel stuck in a routine that is just draining me mentally and physically, like a downward spiral. I work minimum 10 hours a day 7 days a week, and barely make ends meet, I can't have any hobby or spend money on unnecessary things like a a chocolate bar and such. I've tried for a long time to get a better situation, but it only seem to go worse. These day, the work is sparse (I work for a company that does translations online, the salary is pretty low, I have tried to do some freelance things as well as give language classes, but not much has come out of it) And I begin to despair.
I'm planning (at some point, if i ever manage to) go back to France for a bit and work there (I will hopefully make a bit more money and manage to save some of it) but eventually I want to go live in Sweden.
So I was wondering, how difficult is it to buy a house there ? what kind of prices exist ? (again, I don't need much to live, and I'm not afraid to do renovations myself) and Do you happen to know anything regarding job opportunities in Sweden ?(that is one of my biggest fear, what if I cannot find a proper job and just end up in the same situation I am at right now) and finally, do you have any advice in general ?
Thank you for your wonderful videos, they have helped me more than you can imagine. I'm looking foward to seeing more of your adventure, and hopefully one day I can start mine.

First of all, thank you so much for your kind words. It makes us incredibly happy to know, that you have binge-watched our videos and got something out of it.
Wauw, thank you for your honesty. I believe that is the first step to receiving actual help, to be open. I will try to contribute with my input, although it is limited.
The process varies, and also has to do with how collaborative the bank is. It can take months, so it's good to be out in good time. We were so lucky to be able to start renovating the little cabin before the paperwork was done, but I'm not sure if I would advise that. We trust the people involved, and didn't want to wait.
The further north you go, the lower the prices. The house prices in our area have gone up. You can have a look for yourself at www.hemnet.se and see what there is for you. Regarding jobs, I would go on LinkedIn and start connecting with people in Sweden. List your skills and interact with people. You never know. I just expanded my network surprisingly by just being active on LinkedIn.
I feel like asking you this: If you end up in the same situation as now. Where would you rather be?
My advice in general is: Do something new :) It's impossible to plan every little detail of our future, but when we start moving the energy by doing something different, we see new opportunities. One year ago, we had no idea we would be renovating a tiny cabin by now! But if we hadn't made the move to Sweden, we for sure wouldn't have taken action on the cabin.
I too hope that you will start your adventure soon. You deserve an adventure! You can do it. And don't hesitate to write again, if I can help you with more advice (I hope you could use some of it)

And if i ended up in the same situation, I'd much rather be in Sweden! Also, I was curious, do you happen to know if there is any organism in Sweden helping unemployed people find a job ? (asking cause it is like that in France, but in Mexico you have nothing of the sort, so if you have no job you just end up on the street)

I can only imagine that they have an organism as such in Sweden. I know we do in Denmark, but I actually don't know about Sweden. I'm sure you can Google it, or - make a post on LinkedIn asking the same question :) Maybe it would be a good idea joining in good time, in case you need to have been a member for say six months before you can get help.

Back in France I have some family, I am already checking with them to see if I could possibly stay for a bit at their place (just till I can afford to rent a small room or something, as the trip back to France will leave me broke) so hopefully that will work out, and I am definitely going to focus on living in Sweden, I don't really want to delay that plan any longer.

Another couple that are subscribers have just arrived in Sweden to go house hunting, and it's not going as they hoped (it's not certain that you are looking for the same kind of house though).
