Hi Dani! I have purchased your calendars and LOVE them! However, it would be really nice if you had an "American/Canadian version", where the first column of days start with Sunday (as opposed to Monday). Unfortunately, I missed a couple meetings because I thought it was the wrong day because I looked at calendar too quickly! I would love to use your calendars at work... but since the beginning of week starts with Monday I get too confused. I still have this years calendar in my kitchen (but I used to have it at work). Anyway, just a thought... I'll still purchase new one either way, but it would be SO AWESOME if you printed an American/Canadian monthly format!

North Sweden has some industries too... Houses like the ones in the video can be found an hour commute away from some work places.
Dani, your home is beautiful. The landing would make a great reading nook and maybe you could turn the large basement room into a cinema room? Hopefully, you will be able to live in your house all year round too.
Those were exactly my thoughts. Cozy reading area in the landing and with a projector in the large room it could serve as a cinema room but it's also so big that you could have closed storage along a wall for extra equipment, supplies, decor. That's assuming they watch enough movies or streaming to make it a worthy use of the room.
All year round like the people who built it?
I love old things, buildings and furniture and books and dishes and clothes that have been used and have history. Old things have so much more of a feeling of life in them than new things.
In Sweden appliances is seen as a part of the house and the most common is that they stay in the house at a sale for next buyer to enjoy. That goes for stove, oven, dish washer. fridge + freezer, washing machine and dryer. In the few cases the owner want's to take some of that with him it needs to be information about that in the sales add when selling the house. You should sand down the entrance door a bit and put new stain (bets) on it with a clear coat. It would look like new again.
Thank goodness you didn’t paint the wood trim. Your home is amazing! They floors are beautiful. I would leave as much as possible original.

I'd say your decision to move to northern Sweden is great. What looks like 50kg of sunflower seeds, nature at your doorstep, a cozy home with a sauna!! Your low housing costs mean so much. More extra money to renovate or travel. Or work less and enjoy that beautiful lake. I think many envy you. Good luck in your adventures!!

You fill your white metal barrel with seeds for squirrels. I used mine for dog food. LOL!

Your home is quite beautiful/cozy/relaxing/welcoming both inside and out. Don’t rush to finish every space, but take your time and get to know the house and your needs while living there during the different seasons. The very large room at the end could be a multi purpose room that could be for watching movies and entertaining friends and family and a space for guests to stay as needed. You could rearrange the space and rooms divide up the space or add built in storage. Remodel the laundry room to better suit your needs. Sometimes you need to live in the house before you really know what you really want and need.

Hello. Love the house! In Sweden we use "renoveringstapet" if the old walls in not the best or the old color is showing thru the new wallpaper. Realy good to use before the final wallpaper in old houses. We use it in ower 108 year old house, it's like new walls now!
Ohh allways use "Easy up" wallpaper, so easy to put up and no extra work.

Your house is starting to look very cozy. It somehow doesn't look that big from the outside, maybe because of all the forest, but it has so many rooms. And was that a giant bin full of sunflower seeds? 😮

Me and a friend of mine used to feed the local squirrels at our scoutcabin a few years back, they looked like red furry tennisballs with a huge tail in the wintertime, and they do recognise the hand that feeds them! 😉

I have only just come across your videos from watching you rescue a squirrel. I would love to live in or right on the edge of a forest, how lucky you are to have all the scenery to look out on and the wildlife. Also your house is beautiful. I wish you many happy years there.
If the house is 90 years old those are not the original innerwalls. It looks more like its plw. The innerwall of a old swedish house are almost always log walls or plank on log. And yes normally it was mudded/lerklinking. And on top of that it was covered with spännpapp.

What a beautiful house, I like the simplicity of it. I like a minimal clean looks and that’s what it is that sauna😊 is really good for you. You should use it more often it sweats out the toxins in your body.
Paint on wallpaper last as long as the wallpaper. In fact it is often done to give texture to walls that you paint.

G'day Dani. Well, you have done already so much to the house and now its great to hear you feel much more comfy and you name it home. Of course its an old house and maintenance work will never stop. Take a rest over wintertime and than do more next summer. The house, your home doesnt run away anyway, just waiting for hands to make it more comfy. Hope you dont get stressed out with so many days of no daylight. I am sure you will make it.

The inside of your home compliments the outside with its woodsy art touches. Such a beautiful house. When I looked at your home I decided to do some deep de-cluttering. Your home looks like a peaceful haven where nature can be enjoyed anytime of the year. The aurora is fabulous.
You were not lucky the previous owner left the fridge and dishwasher. In Sweden, they are usually considered a part of the house in regards to moving and selling so it would be surprising if they were not there.
Leaving furniture is not the norm, or at least not for a primary residence. It is more common for a summer cottage that people, in general, do not move into so they do not have their own furniture to use there. So I guess it was a summer cottage or something the previous owner inherited not their primary residence. So they already had a home with furniture and only if there was something special they liked would take it with the. There is not a huge value in selling them separately so leaving them as a part of the house purchase is not a simple way to get rid of them and they can be reused by someone else.

Lovely home! I own a similar one further south in Sweden. Fun fact; appliances like dishwashers and fridges and also washer and dryer are always included when purchasing as they are included in the value of the house :)
