Today I received my Gotrax gx1 and this video definitely hit all the areas of concern or question. After my first 45min ride I must say...This thing is a beast! Soild well build machine!
Definitely one of my favorite scooters so far!
I love mine, picked it up for $999 the only issue is the noisy brakes. But the brakes do work well. 30mph confirmed even with a 300lb rider.
Great to hear! I havent had the chance to ride mine much lately but really hoping the noisy brakes quiet down once they break in more

Great review Eric. My daughter has one of the entry GoTrax scooters and its been great
i can definitely agree with the feeling that its got more to give just its limited because whenever i ride mine i can feel it get up to 30 super quick and then just stop accelerating its not a mph at a time crawl to 30 it can easily do it if anybody could unlock the scooter it would be another beast
sadly my squeaky brakes still squeak to this day never could fix them also really fun scooter off road loved the video

Really love the frame styling on this one. Would have been great to see 20ah on it though
I agree on the styling. 20ah is great, but that adds a considerable amount of weight..so I think its good with the battery size it has.
A fix for the brakes is to replace the caliper/pads. There's videos showing people swap in bicycle calipers. The squeak is a common problem, it seems.

Great review Eric! Looks good but personally I have no interest in these over powered scooters. I get it for hilly areas, but I feel like the speed is just another way for people to get hurt (whether the rider or bystanders). For OFFROAD its great, but unfortunately I'd say the majority are blazing down streets and sidewalks at unsafe speeds. I'm sure it's fun, but seems a bit silly to me.

Hey Eric big issue with my GoTrax Gtx-1 had it for one month and then I got it red! On the screen and it will not work I’ve wrote into them. I’m not getting any answers from them anything sitting in my backyard I’ve I’ve read. I’ve sent an emails. I’ve gotten nothing back from contract. Very frustrated spent $1000 on it ran great for I think two weeks, and then I got this exclamation and it will not. I cannot get it to reset. I cannot. I’ve checked all the wires. I don’t see no crimp wires no cut wires very very very frustrated.
Hi, I looked through the manual and it saids to push the - button and power button and it'll tell you what the error code is. Not much help, but at least you'll have an idea whats going wrong.
According to the manual:
02 handle failure
04 motor hall failure
05 motor brake failure
Hopefully they get back to you soon! If they dont reply via email, try messaging on their social media pages. With other products, sometimes I've gotten a faster response that way.

Really surprising to see these from GoTrax.. usually their geared toward beginner stuff.
Im not too familiar with everything GoTrax makes to be honest, but this is definitely up there with one of the best scooters I've tested so far

Did the brake squeaking get better since filming this? I agree it sounded awful
It went away after a slight adjustment.
I havent had the chance to ride it much yet, but as commented above, a slight adjustment to the brake caliper should fix it
I’m here to let everyone know the warranty means nothing they will not honor it and they don’t have parts to send out. I bought one and out of the box the charger doesn’t work. It’s been over 3 months and they still haven’t resolved the issue
How do the tires feel on the road? bumpy? noisy?
Tires are smooth for being offroad capable it's not segway ninebot smooth but those are street tires. zero noise from frame or suspension. The brake squeal is the only issue.

Tires are pretty smooth. I've had some off road tires that were awful with lots of vibrations, but these its not bad at all. It's not as smooth as street tires, but good enough to not notice or think about it once riding.
Do the side lights also work as turn signals?
