They're definitely not the most expensive. An actual secure and well designed lock will be quite a bit more expensive. Locks that are cheaper than a master lock probably ain't any better (oftentimes they use similar designs, and that's if they're not downright knockoffs of master locks). From what I gather, I believe it is missing a shielding plate at the end of the keyway, meaning you can simply push the locking lug aside with a simple pick. LPL always says that we should leave a comment if we have something to say, and this seemed appropriate.
That's probably just how they're packaged by default. You don't need to unlock the lock, you can just thread them through the key ring to get them loose.
I always wonder if in fact the design phase actually produced a pretty solid lock, but these issues were introduced by someone cutting costs further down the line
Perhaps the most damning thing here is that to a casual observer, the exploits used for the first lock and especially the final three might just look like someone using a key normally, and they'd be none the wiser.

There are INCREDIBLY easy-to-learn vulnerabilities in many forms of security (locks, computer programs, physical security, etc.), but the difference is that this guy has taken the time to learn a shit ton of them. Sometimes, the real experience is taking the time to learn and memorize a massive assortment of different exploits, easy or hard, and being able to apply and manipulate them on the fly.
Actually not, that's why the flaws are inexcusable. They've been making locks for a very long time and sell locks that do demonstrate what they've learned, but they also sell a great deal of locks like this. I mean, they still sell the old-style warded padlocks that open handily with a skeleton key. Why you'd spread your brand out like that is beyond me, though.

Isn't that how we all keep our padlocks and keys together? Storing the keys in the keyway isn't very secure, they can come out and get lost, and keeping them in the keyway can compress the springs over time and may weaken them. If you only have a few padlocks I can understand there's no need for any organization though.

I picked a couple of locks in the 140 series & they opened pretty easy. I thought it was a fluke but I was impressed with myself.

@@michaelbuckers Most bad locks. That is the point of this to show you if he actually has to pick the lock odds are it is good enough quality to keep out 90% of people with a basic pick set.
He makes picking every lock look easy but it is kinda unexcusable for a lock to be rakeable.
So THAT's why my skyrim character can pick master locks at level 1...

It helps to not lose them when you have so many if he needed them he can just slide the key from keyring
Isn't that how we all keep our padlocks and keys together? Storing the keys in the keyway isn't very secure, they can come out and get lost, and keeping them in the keyway can compress the springs over time and may weaken them. If you only have a few padlocks I can understand there's no need for any organization though.
