This is called confirmation bias and post-hoc rationalizing. You're simply reinterpreting the verse by finding a way to correlate it to something you're familiar with. People do this all the time when talking to a fortune teller. The fortune teller will say something vague, and the client will subconsciously "match" it to something in their life. Critical thinking is very difficult.

    Excellent analysis Allhumdulilah.
I am a pilot & always thought when Allah mentions in Quran about the ships that sail through His mercy etc.
Just like ships float on water, the airplanes have buoyancy in the air as air is also a fluid. Therefore, the airships/airplanes whatever we may call the equipment, its still floating on a fluid just the fluid is of a different state. Moreover, the inclined path discussion is beautiful as we follow great circle route i.e heading changes in a curved path over the surface of the earth being the shortest distance between 2 points. SubhanAllah Allah explains everything. The inclination is opposite in the Southern Hemisphere- parallel opposite to the northern hemisphere. Any direction you set forth, you gotta incline in heading. Allah is great

This is just post-hoc rationalizing. I'm sorry, heavier than air - aircraft are not "buoyant". They don't "float" through the air. The wings accelerate air downward and create lift.
In fact, lighter than air aircraft have their own classification. They include balloons and blimps which are filled with heated gas or helium.

The Shaykh's understanding of verse 16:8 is actually similar to Muhammad Asad's rendering of this ayah. It is interesting how the Shaykh's understanding of this ayah fits perfectly with the following ayat. Here is Asad's translation of 16:8:
The use, in this context, of the aorist yakhluqu implies the future tense ("He will create") in
contrast with the past tense khalaqa employed, in the preceding passages. Since this reference to
God's continuing creation comes immediately after, a mention of primitive means of transport
(i.e., of animals domesticated by man to this end), it-obviously relates to other - as yet unknown -
things of the same category: that is to say, to new means of transport which God unceasingly
creates through the instrumentality of the inventiveness with which He has endowed man's mind
(cf. 36:42). Inasmuch as every successive stage of human development bears witness to new,
    previously
undreamt-of inventions in the realm of transport, the Qur'anic statement that "He will yet create
things of which [today] you have no knowledge" is valid for every period - past, present and future of man's history

This man is nice, may Allah guide him further, but his arguments are not thought out with enough care.
I meditated on this verse as well last year when I had to learn how to graze some livestock.
I began reciting these verses in my solah. I read the whole surah a few times as well.
I was very interested and very impressed. I believe I can say I was humbled by Allah subhaanahu wa ta’ala, due to the greatness of his wisdom and his guidance.
I also felt that the qasd in qasdussabiil was about the animals guiding us, because they often knew where the best grass was better than I did. They would look at me and were inclined to trust me for direction at other times.
There were in fact times when I knew better than them where the choice leaves were, or the choice grasses.
Maa shaa Allah, it showed me that Allah had made it so. That is, that Allah subhaanawata’ala had given us each a share of the task.
He has in fact given us a shared task, not just a share of the task.
If the goat stops walking and stares at you, then you pick some forage for it, it will continue to look for that same forage thereafter.
It has been subdued under us. Taskheer, I believe this is. Allah subhaanahu wa ta’ala has made it so, yet as the scholar points out, pur modern machines cannot ease the amanah for us, and He said inna robbakum la ro’uufurraheem.
Yet this dear scholar has said in another interview that Muhammad doesn’t sin and this is wrong.

"Many times refuted" is not a measurement unit of a scholars' knowledge and status. When imam Abu Hanifa and imam Malik were discussing in imam Malik's chambers, I expect they both refuted each other many times. And better than this, it happened face to face, not remotely in a CZcams video. Doesn't take anything away from any of them.
