ℹ️About the episode:
After 10 days, it was time to leave Nashville. That's the longest we stayed anywhere, but with the arrival of Charlie last week, we needed some more time. Plus, we loved Nashville! We headed straight for Willett Distillery in Bardstown, KY and stayed at My Kentucky Home State Park. We mentioned in this episode that this is the third state park we've stayed at since getting the new enormous Grand Design Toy Hauler (Momentum 399TH). In fact, there hasn't been one place we've been turned away or didn't fit. Granted, we've been traveling through the Heartland and we mostly stay at RV parks, but so far so good being big. An RV Tour is coming soon and we'll share more pros and cons of these big rigs.

Saw the comment about how Trish looks at Mark...I've noticed how the whole family looks at each other with genuine respect, enthusiasm, and love. Great family and ideal example of how a family should function. Well done guys!
Fellow Veteran " Thank You for Your Service ".
That is why I watch. I dont have an RV. I might have one someday but the family is why I watch, not the RV.
@@jayburris6252 they're awesome, aren't they? I've been watching for well over a year.
Jay Burris Lol, I probably will never get my dream "trailer" (we call em caravan in Australia) as will probably never be able to afford one, ((or even my not so dream one, just a basic box, even if we had such large ones like that here...)) but, I like both. They are an adorable family aren't they just, (totally super sweet and cool,) God bless em
True that
Caleb and that horse brought tears to my eyes.......He has such a big ol' sweet heart inside!
It did the same to me too!! Love that kid!! Funny and sweet!
💯
Caleb is the ultimate animal whisperer!!! He has the purest heart for showing love!!! He is such a great soul
Adding Charlie to the crew adds a whole new dimension to the channel.
Charlie is absolutely gorgeous boy! I miss my baby Bailey every day it hasn't even been 18 months because we spent all but a couple months shy of 18 years!
It is awesome to see what kids do when they are not plugged into a cellular phone or game console. Your videos only get better. These last to videos with the puppy have been epic!
Johnny is a friend
I was one of his teachers in high school
It's amazing how God calls and changes people
BTW We are full timer for 7+ years
That Caleb is a special boy. Always living his best life.
Those people who refused to let you adopt a dog didn't know what they were doing, Charlie probably gets more exercise and attention then a dog who would be left at home all day while his owners worked.
Animal rescues are designed to make people feel good, not necessarily animals.
BINGO!
family of 4 with 2 working parents, we got denied at the local SPCA for a puppy. Only older dogs. They never even bothered to find out that one of us worked from home. Literally had my wife in tears. Steam built up in me outside. We turned around and went back in. Asked, "So do you want me to go to a puppy mill?" Amazing how quickly their standard dropped.
I completely agree on dream coming true when you least expect them. I am a huge country music fan.....have been my whole life. In fact, I was country when country wasn’t cool....LOL... Anyway, I have always wanted to go to the Ope. As luck would have it, I was in Nashville 8 years ago for the birth of my granddaughter. My daughter and I decided to go to the Ope before I had to head home to Colorado. I was blown away because I am a Loretta Lynn Super Mega Fan and she happened to be appearing while I was in Nashville. One of my biggest dream besides going to the Ope was to one day see Loretta Lynn. We had a great night and my daughter couldn’t stop laughing at me as I cried the entire time Loretta sang. What an AMAZING Night!! Thanks for sharing your date night with the KYD tribe and bring back great memories for me. Safe Travels
LOVE you, your kids, your journey and now your dog!
Kentucky .... and everything it brings to mind in this video. Bourbon - Thoroughbreds - Blue Grass. Marc & the KYD gang, great post editing on this video!
As I watch this, and especially the ending with Caleb on the Tractor and racing the horse with Charlie, a tear comes to my eye... thinking; "this is what America is all about, not the pure unadulterated CRUD you see on television"...
I love the drone footage. It really puts your channel above the others.
Gorgeous-Gorgeous-Gorgeous footage of the farmland! Can't wait to roll through that part of the country myself! Charlie...wonderful addition to your family! Love your videos!!! Always educational and fun to watch! THANK YOU for what you do for us!!
I enjoy all your videos that Tricia does a voice over explaining what we are viewing. The selection of music is fantastic. I have viewed this video a few times and enjoyed it more each time. Thank you for letting us all live our adventures vicariously through you and your videos.
Welcome to my homestate! Stop in Bowling Green - see the corvette museum
Andrew Prince we went there a couple years ago and that sink hole was crazy to see. Really enjoyed it just wish I could of drove one home!
Love Bardstown. it was the first stop we ever made with our Big Country.
What amazing memories for you and the boys. They will remember that farm forever...
Driving those hills in Kentucky can be an adventure and i imagine more so hauling a 43 feet Toy Hauler. I spent summer of 1974 in Maysville, Ky selling books door to door. A tough summer but I learned a lot about life and hardships of people with limited means. Thew grow Burley Tobacco in Mason County (Maysville) and there are more millionaires in that county per capita than anywhere else in Kentucky or that was the case in 1974. I shared a room in a boarding house with my supervisor I was 18 he was 19. He had met this girl who was 14-15 and her family were tenant farmers for a large tobacco farmer. This girl had the hands of a 40 year old woman and there were 8-10 family members sharing a house that was probably 500-600 square feet. It made me grateful for the 1500 square house my family of 5 lived in.
Bourbon trail! Awesome photography of beautiful Kentucky! I heart Charlie.
Mark, one of the things I love about watching your videos is the artistry you put into the scenic shots. Just beautiful! No, more than just beautiful... visceral and compelling. You have a gift, my friend. Safe travels to you and your sweet family.
Absolutely Spectacular Footage of Kentucky. Thank You So Much.
This is my local area, you made it look so nice and treated the aspects of Kentucky in your video with such dignity and respect (we don't always get that from visitors). I hope you enjoyed your time in Kentucky and come back and check out the other distilleries as you have time. They each have their own story and feel (some big, some small) but all are fun to tour.
Own a fabulous Winnebago View Preview since 2011, the break handle can be pushed down to enable a seat swing. With your leveler S put pads and bricks under each pad helps level without wheels in the air. Chopin' tobacki is an important experience (a reason not to smoke). Mr. Cleveland, the farmer and father of my sister's Smith College friend, suggested we follow his day dream to harvest and oust the harvest in the barn. That was tough work which I have treasured in memory during the 50 years since.
Trish is right. Close the damn door :) Charley is the star now, you can't lose him. Great video again. keep them coming
I Agree, great video,I also agree...close the door!
Kentucky is Home sweet home!!
Just wanted to give you a compliment on how you bring up your new pup Charlie - You give him off leash time, take him with you on outings, but you also have structure and crate train him to be safe when you go off for your date night! Nice job
I love all of your videos but this one was extra special! I wish I could like it a hundred times. It made me want to get a dog, drink some bourbon and show my kids how to drive a tractor. Thanks for all you do and we look forward to someday finally meeting yall!!
Something we do with our pets is put a small luggage tag on their collar with your current campsite location. Ideally, you keep the doors closed... but in those cases when that fails at least someone may have the ability to return your animal to you. When my wife first did this I laughed and teased her about it. But, when someone came a knocking with Sakiri in tow I had to admit she was a genius.
What a great idea!!! Thank you for sharing!
I’ have been blind sense birth and this is something I can do and I’m learning every day about campers
Just got your email and watched another great video. So entertaining. Then I go to post this and I find that a hundred people already commented. Wow! This is better than than watching anything on the 4 major networks! You really tell it like a story with something new to learn in each episode. Charlie looks like he’s really enjoying being with you guys.
This was beautiful. I want to go to Kentucky in the spring to visit Boonesborough and other historic stops. Such a rich in history place.
Favorite part: when the horse let Caleb win the race so he could keep his new friend happy and get free head rubs. 😂😍 I love Kentucky too!
What an awesome trip! I wish your videos were an hour long bc it’s like I can’t get enough!!
Mackinac Island just might be 1 hr! We'll see how a long video goes.
Glad you made it to my home state. There’s so much good bourbon and history to enjoy.
Charlie is one lucky pup and will have so many wonderful experiences with you! Keep doing whatever works for you guys as it is a new routine for everyone!
The only guy in the world who could race a horse and WIN.
🤣😂🤣😂
You guys are Great!
Keep it up.👍
You guys are a great family and work very well together.
Tired Dog=Good Dog
Charlie is adorable
Kentucky state parks are all gorgeous.
We learned the SAME lesson when leveling. The campsite we are on right now, our tires lifted off the ground 1st try. We had to re-hook up and lower the front jacks so they didn't have as much travel room. It's all trial and error going from a bumper pull to a 5th wheel. We are on the journey with you! Although you are a bit longer than our ARTY.
I live in kentucky very close to the distillery's and they are a very big part of our lifestyle my grandfather has worked as a bottling line manager for around 30 years at makers mark. So cool to see y'all in my home state as we love to camp and just love the channel
When we started training our 4 dachshunds one of the first things we did was train them to come to a whistle. Everytime we blow, they get a treat. A whistle can be heard from further away than a voice. Now we've never lost a dog, but it's nice to have the piece of mind that they will come back. Safety of our animals was our first priority & I can see that Trish feels the same way. Have fun with your new fur baby, training is my favorite part.
LaMona DiBenedetto 4 dachshunds behaving - impressive! We have only owned 2 at a time and they were very stubborn. The one we own now is so laid back that she is actually lazy!
Wow I'm impressed with the mow lines in the pasture. Caleb was rocking the brush hog!
I hope you learned some of the history of the Grand Ole Opry. It’s amazing.
I'm loving the music now. Caleb is learning valuable skills by learning to drive a tractor
Love the mowing footage at the end. Great song. Gave me the warm and fuzzies.
From the Drone shot I thought of the story of Tom Sawyer, when he has to white wash the fence and convinces his friends how FUN it is so they'll take over.
And there's Caleb doing the mowin'......
Hi guys!! Great video. Really beautiful country. You captured it really well. We haven't been to Kentucky yet, will get there someday. Charlie seems to be fitting right into the family. He such a keeper!! Retrievers are such wonderful dogs. Safe travels 😊💕🇺🇸
Photography outstanding...so clear. Well done! Thank you for sharing.
My just about six year old asked about 1 hour ago if the video is up he wants to see Charlie. He wanted to tell you Charlie is a good dog and it is good you crate him because he will not chew up your shoes when you are gone.
Great video, again! I always remember this quote from my dad, a very smart guy indeed! « You always get more of what you focus on » Never let go, keep going forward, and everything will be fine I guess! Fun stuff is happening to you! Enjoy! Remi.
Ok. This episode made me cry. First, I have a friend who visits the Grand Ole Opry two or three times a month and, although I've never been, he's shown me what an incredible experience one can have there. I sure hope to go one day! Secondly, I've been a horse gal for most of my life. Early on, I followed a guy named Monty Roberts who taught how to "join up" with horses. I loved watching Kaleb "join up" with that buckskin. Great episode! Lovin' Charlie! And. We LOVE Kentucky!
My heart just swelled with pride and love for Carson, just like an Aunt, when he was racing the horse and then again on the tractor. He looked like he was in his eliminate and enjoying every moment of it. ~Meredith
Great video, I really enjoyed it. Charlie looks like a natural for the RV lifestyle!
Great as usual. Your show is part of my Sunday routine.
This has to be one of my favorite videos y’all have ever done. Love this one!
Welcome to Kentucky! We’re very proud of our horses, and bourbon! Wineries are nice, but distilleries, are much better!!! 😂
Looks absolutely beautiful in Kentucky! You said you only had time for one distillery. Why rush? Take your time and see it all! Charlie is 100% precious!
Trish had to fly home out of Louisville to take care of family. With the ages of the kids and everything going on in our life right now, we always have some date to meet. We're definitely not the normal full-time RVers!
So much fun... thanks for bringing us along👍
Awesome as always! Living life and traveling through y’all! Thank you!
OK... What an amazingly shot and edited video. I truly felt I have experienced something special. Damn bro, you guys have raised the bar, stepped up your game, become professional... Discovery Channel, History Channel, Comedy Central... send the contracts now before I produce this gem!
Ive followed for a long time and you ALL continue to impress.
One of your best video’s. Great shots. Thanks for doing what you do and taking us with you.
I hadn’t watched the channel for a while, glad you are back to showing the beautiful places in our country. Looking forward to seeing interesting people and places on your travels!
Get yourself some leveling blocks or cut a 2x12 into 12” squares. Get a rough assessment of your site level and distribute the blocks accordingly. Auto level will detect and adjust, your wheels will stay on the ground. One more thing, watch the extension on your jacks, you only have about 16-18” max extension, but if you stay in the max 9-12” range, the rig won’t wobble and your hydraulics will thank you.
Love the videos ... Charlie is a cutie!
One of the more eye-appealing episodes you've put out. Not much beats the beautiful American countryside.
We saw Carrie Underwood and Brandi Carlile at the Grand Ole Oprah when we were passing through and it was absolutely incredible. 3 songs each is not enough though! What a fun time.
Y’all are inspiring my wife and I to get a small rig and do a bunch of mini trips all over. Thanks for sharing your journey!
Just got home from the lake. Camper and boat put up. I watch yalls video and im ready to head to Tennessee! Yall rock from "Longview, TX"
Awesome 5 star video. You guys never disappoint. Thank you, Paul
Kentucky is a beautiful state. I live in Ohio and we are a beautiful state as well. We are lucky to live in America, some much wonder in each state.
There is a old joke we Buckeyes have about Kentucky in good humor. ( a man fishing on the bank's of the Ohio river at night hears a man on the Kentucky side Yeal across and asked how's the fishing over there? Man on the Ohio side said great! Man on Kentucky side said ,it's horrible on this side! Man on Ohio side tells the man on Kentucky side [ hey swim over here ] Kentucky man said I don't know how to swim. Man Ohio side said no problem, I will shine my flashlight across the water and you walk across the beam. Kentucky man said, you promise not to turn the light off i can't swim! )😁
God bless you and your family.
Lol. We visited Sandusky. Coming up soon. Ohio was great. We stayed at farm-ish RV park with a tractor show and ate fried pickets. 10+
Brian Hubbard if Ohio’s fishing is so good then perhaps the Ohio navy can stay in Ohio. Just a thought!
@@MastersLightHouseProductions it's just a joke just like ( a pickup truck with ten Buckeyes ran off a bridge over the Ohio river, two people in the cab survived. The eight people in the bed of the truck drowned. They couldn't get the tailgate down. )
Laugh more and don't take things to serious and life will be better.
God bless.
I am from Louisville and have to say that was funny. No offense taken!
It’s all good! Just giving you a hard time.
Would you have ever imagined where you would be when starting this journey to share with others? The experiences you’ve had, the amazing people you’ve met, the places you’ve gone, the things you have learned, and the relationships you have forged all by starting this “little” CZcams journey. Man, it’s truly amazing, truly inspiring, and I honestly can’t get enough. You’re most definitely living your absolute best life and I love watching it and being motivated to start chasing dreams of our own! 💕
Never. Life changing and we're very grateful. Thanks for being here.
OMG you guys! I so loved this one! The ending with Caleb and Charley running with the horses really got me! Fond memories....kid driving the brush hog. Thank you!!!!
Yaaaaaaay Johnny & Gale we’re their cousins/fans! My wife & I have been watching KYD for a while & were extra surprised & excited to see them here!!!!! So cool we love KYD thank you for all you do!
Omg. This is the best video yet. The dog, the horses and the beauty of Kentucky. ❤️
Gorgeous video footage!!! The Grand Old Opry is a place I'd love to visit, along with the bourbon distillery. Kentucky and Tennessee great place to visit.
It simply can’t be said any better! I agree.
Beautiful places this week. So much fun. Glad Charlie is learning the ropes
As a trucker I roll through Kentucky a few times at least a year and this episode has made me have an even higher appreciation of the state and heritage. Thank y'all for such beautiful episodes. God bless and keep the greasy side down.
Welcome to Kentucky. Thanks for the great videos.
This Kentucky girl LOVES seeing others appreciate her beauty and charm. I am so glad you got to see the beautiful countryside.
LOVE Charlie! He seems to be a great fit for your family.
OMG that horse was playing with Caleb!!! Love it! I can NOT even imagine the stories your kids will have to tell their children and grandchildren someday about their childhood!!!!
Smiling and watching scenes with the dog and then the horse running along side brings me to share this: There are people who will disagree but I’ve always liked the phrase “a dog and its human(s).” When (my) Dog and I met, he was always excited and hard to control. He was a 1 year old who was just too much for a couple with a young child and newborn. Don’t get me wrong, treats and a leash are absolutely mandatory at times. However, I love being able to quickly “negotiate” with Dog when those things aren’t present (which for us is most of the time). While I am indeed his Alpha, I am also his most trusted friend and adventure buddy. I am not his Master or “Daddy.” When we are out hiking or biking, we often go right through small groups of people. Being half Golden retriever, when allowed, he really loves to meet people. We can be off-leash and there might be a slight moment of hesitation but we will pass without incident, every time. A little heart-felt praise and maybe a pat on the head is all that is required. He is always kind and gentle but he is most responsive to my wife and I. We have earned Dog’s respect. The teen-ager hasn’t taken the time to bond properly… then wonders why Dog isn’t very responsive. Yes, I’ve gotten this to work with various types of dogs, including ones who don’t own me. Bandit (dog) and I are friends/family not hunting partners, true. Remote control can be a bit more “relaxed." Still, we have fooled people who don’t know us (proud smile). Not expert opinion, just “ food for thought.”
So awesome to see the great things you do with the family. those activities are really Great
Thank you so much for showing us this beautiful part of the country. I now have a new destination. Awesome footage and editing.
Congratulations on your new addition. What a handsome boy!
Those shots with your son running with the horse were great. Put a big smile on my face.
I love watching your adventures, great family! Love Charlie❤ Safe travels
You're my favorite family on YT! Greetings from Bremen, Germany
Germany is on our list!
And myself from Portugal, your Rv videos make me Home sick .
Love this video . Family is number 1 your giving these childern good values and memories that will last a life time thanks for sharing
That's how you do it in the heartland. No matter your age, just get on and drive the tractor.
My favorite video yet! You are in my neck of the woods! I live in the heart of bourbon and horse country in Lawrenceburg Ky! This makes me appreciate what I see everyday and sometimes take for granted that I live in such a wonderful place!
Welcome to KY!!! Enjoy it.
So beautiful. Lush video and rich stories. You all are superb in your instincts and abilities. Thank you for another lovely video.
Loved the clip of Johnny’s message on reaching Grand Old Opry stage.
You made my day. It’s so good to see seasoned RVers making the same mistakes we made our first trip out with our 5er. Only difference was we had all four Rv wheels off the ground and didn’t know how to fix it. Thanks for the laughs.
I have watched y’all for a couple of years. I love your adventures and your beautiful family. Our prayers are with you!
Don’t worry about those wheels off the ground when leveled, plus good time to check the bearings on that side! Thanks for another great video
Willett Distillery is absolutely beautiful, we were there last year and can’t wait to go back.
Always such great videos! So informative, entertaining & masterfully edited. ❤️ your new addition to the family too 😊 such a sweet puppy!
