Dimebag Darrell once said of Peter Steele, "If you're a woman whose hearing Pete sing for the first time, be sure you have a towel."

Absolutely, a towel is essential when hearing Peter sing regardless of first time or 1,000 times+ it never changes the effect his voice has on someone. RIP to both legends that no one could ever replace Peter and Dimebag ❤️

Not weird at all. Peter's voice had that effect on everyone who heard it, regardless of their sexual identity.

I miss this band like none other. Peter was a genius and it showed in the many different layers of music he wrote. You truly haven't listened to Type O until you have listened to them over and over, picking out all the "hidden" things in their songs. With each listen there will be something you haven't heard before. Pure brilliance. The band never took themselves seriously and had a lot of fun in the process. I have seen them dozens of times and they were always completely down to earth when chatting with them in person. Glad to see someone giving the band some love. Great video man!

Damn, I miss Peter Steele (RIP). A truly unique band and sound. If you like this song you will probably love that entire album. October Rust has a very cool vibe to it. Must listens from their catalog are Black No. 1 and Christian Woman off the Bloody Kisses album, but the official videos are edited down and some lyrics are changed. Better to listen to the full unedited album versions of those two songs. Blood & Fire from the same album is an underrated song, worth listening to. I believe it appeared on the Mortal Kombat (movie) soundtrack. They also did an amazing cover of Black Sabbath's song "Black Sabbath" that appeared on the Nativity In Black tribute album. I highly recommend that one as well.

Summer breeze Is a great song but I much prefer the Original version Type O did for it with their own lyrics and Title ( Summer girl ) because then they wouldn't have had to split up the second part of the song into the track that follows that being "Set me on fire" which the lyrics for that are " Summer girl, Set me on fire" now it makes more Sense knowing what Type Os original title for Summer Breeze was and if you hear the track with Type Os Lyrics instead of the original.

Crystal Mountain is gud, but there are some top contenders on Symbolic. Without Judgement, Empty Words and 1,000 Eyes. I would say Perennial Quest, though; I think you have to be a long time fan of Death to really "get" that song.

Symbolic is an incredible album, definitely in my top 3 favorite Death Metal albums (the others being Entombed - Wolverine Blues and Carcass - Heartwork). I think Crystal Mountain is the most accessible song for someone not really into Death Metal. I don't think Alex has had a great introduction to Death Metal yet, I think the only proper Death Metal Band he's reacted to is Decapitated. I would have recommend either Crystal Mountain, Sepultura - Arise, or Entombed - Wolverine Blues for an introduction.

I had the fortune of meeting Peter after a show once and he was one of the most down to earth and generous people I ever met. I'm glad you enjoyed Type O Negative. They're one of my favorite bands, ever. I agree. When you can connect viscerally with a song, with an artist, it takes music out of the realm of the usual. It's hard for me to listen to Type O now, since Peter has died and the band is no more. Don't let that stop you from going through their catalog of music, including Pete's other band "Carnivore". "October Rust" was one of their most commercially successful ventures, but there are gems scattered throughout the life of the band, and Peter Steele.

I’m SO glad you loved the song by my all time favorite band!! As a fan, it’s always been disheartening how little recognition they’ve received over the years, they created some truly amazing, unique art. This version has been edited, and listening to the album version is even more moving because none of the dynamics of the song are interrupted. Because you related to this so well, I HIGHLY suggest you listen to this album, October Rust, from start to finish- all of the songs are equally as powerful and just as moving. (Don’t be surprised if you are converted to a life long diehard though!!) I was jealous watching you hear the song for the first time, as I can vividly remember the goosebumps I felt when the album came out 22 years ago!! TON forever💚
