- After last week's Runway Tuner Shootout, Matt couldn't resist taking the winning car, the E85 powered Switzer E900 GTR out for a little drive. What he finds is not just another GTR, because this is the fastest street car he's ever driven.

"Sleeper" i don't think that term applys to a GTR.
I know what you mean by that. The GTR has amazing street presence so making it a sleeper or stealth car doesn't really give it the same feel as such. The point is, there are no visual upgrades to it, which makes it appear as stock though it's twice as powerful. It'll even kick a Veyron's butt in a quarter mile, which makes me smile

that is a HELL of a lot of value for money. faster 1/4 mile than a Veyron for a tenth of the price, and won't attract unwanted attention from car thieves? and is fully equipped with standard luxuries? yes please.

yeah value for money... dude dont even got brakes after $60k.. You could get an STI or Evo to 800hp for almost half the price, now thats value getting almost 500hp for 35k. So-called "quality" will not be as good but you will still have an absolute beast and a quality one if you do it right with the right people who know what they are doing... Also, if you can afford a $200K car (which is probably how much he paid for the car + upgrades), you can probably afford a garage and other security lol.

bruh yall so sensitive. so what he called it a sleeper. Its faster than a stock gtr but it doesnt look any faster. You get inside and everything is normal, the GTR as a whole may not be a sleeper but in context this car is a sleeper.

Boost is a term used to reference the pressure that the forced induction engine is using to build power. A N/A car runs off of the air around us which is designed as 1 atmosphere or 14.7 psi. A forced induction engine uses pressures above 1 atmosphere to create a situation where the engine can burn more fuel due to the presence of more oxygen from the pressurization of the air. 1 bar is 14.7 psi

Dude, it is a masterpiece of engineering. AWD with a 2.8 seconds 0-60. Moving 3900 lbs in 2.8 with a V6. Even Porsche engineers are impress of the GTR numbers. It is the ultimate machine, it is Godzilla.....

This is one cool car, awesome job. Sound is absolutely the best ever GT-R! AP racing J hook rotors, endless pads, braided lines...for sure over stock brembo cross-drilled rotors which are prone to cracking at cross drill points..

To all those who are calling him out on the GTR not being a sleeper, the man's absolutely right. A sleeper or stealth car is ANY car that has significantly upgraded performance that has no visual upgrades whatsoever. A GTR can't really be a hidden race car because one in and of itself has amazing street credibility, but the point is that it has twice the power of a stock GTR with no visual upgrades. True "junk car that drives like a track star" sleeper? Nope; can't do it. Sleeper by definition? Most definitely.

The GT-R always has been Dual Clutch but the thing he meant i guess that when the car got customized even in the GearBox because as you heard the car accelerate differently ... So Fast !!!

I do agree however that on a track it all depends on the driver and that's the most important factor in any race. Brakes on switzer will not melt, they will just behave differently when heated up so again, if the driver is aware and used to this, brakes are not an issue.
Finally someone has upgraded a GTR to not sound like a smartcar. That's the best sounding GTR ive heard.

i do like the gtrs especially the tuned ones , maybe the design of the gtr is getting slightly borin but anyway my question is: dont you have any problems with that tuned car if it has 800 hp or more? nothing is gonna die?? i mean especially the tuner switzer

As has been stated, I'm not a fan of unbalanced mods. If you're going to double the horsepower, do the brakes and the suspension, too.
All that said, I LOVE the car. That exhaust tone? The understated looks of the car? Epic.

Thanks for that comment, copy that reply to me29903, the GT-R's chassis can only take so much, the drive train wasn't designed with tuners in mind, so anything pushing the GT-R past 600 hp will definitely cause some reliability issues unless you do some heavy modifications

Wouldn't say it's a masterpiece but it is an awesome car. Twin clutch, AWD, LC and a pretty hyped first gear ratio (compared to pretty much every other car) lol. It's no mystery as to why it's faster at 0-60s than a lot of cars.
Overall its a great car and I wouldn't mind owning one.
But you were talking about standing mile and 1/4 mile speeds, not economy or fuel rarities. I wasn't aware that economy had a place when it came to comparing these cars.

stock brembo calipers are fine, he just needs upgraded pads to resist overheating and wear under harder driving
There is a video on here called the Two Second Club. The guy on there says that out of the three cars on that video, the GTR is fastest to 45 though. And that isn't the one that's 900hp lol. You can probably play with that 0 - 45 any day in any city. Plus it's way cheaper obviously. Both awesome cars !!

Its actually surprisingly hard to improve the breaks on a GTR, the stock ones are awesome.
yes, i know the alpha 12 exists but you should take a look at the omega gtr. its ams' newest creation and i believe it topped out on the texas mile at 238mph. their still fixing issues and trying to beat the UGR race spec gallardo superleggera's record of 248.
1 small correction, the Veyron doesn't trap anywhere around 135, that is slightly more than the Aventador or ZR1, try mid-high 10's at low 140 trap speeds with a non VHT track.

There's a shop in my village building this cars, last week there where 4 GTRs in front of the company! Luckily they test them on the way next to my house :P

Driven a stock GTR and am very impressed with its ability to launch so quick. That said, the list of modifications to this car shouldn't cost more then $12,000. I know because I am building a 500hp 4 cylinder.
it has some pretty nice brakes stock, but yeah, I get what you say. cooling mods would probably do the trick, no need to swap the whole system
What he meant is, is that compared to other GTR-35 this is a sleeper, but still your statement is 100% correct. It's faster than a veyron by a long shot so of course its not a sleeper XD
i think it produces more power, so sometimes you will actually use less throttle, and less feul but i think you need alot of it as compared to gas

so true.. with a cobb access port only being 1k (expensive but really for a gtr owner it's not at all ) and minor upgrades being overall cheap.. you expect this car to be a mid 10 second car right off the bat..

You also have to think about the level of car it is stock. It competes with ZR1s, veyrons, enzos, etc. In that realm, it is a sleeper.
The Alpha 12 is a sick car (8.1 secs down a quart-mile :o ), but have fun paying for gas LOL. Also, the power exceeds its handling. On a video that I watched, the part of the chassis broke after ripping it around the track. To be completely honest, I would be content with the Alpha 6 GTR or this one here... Or any friggen Skyline from the R33 up haha
both alpha 10 and 12 use race gas or some other version of fuel ill stick with the aplha 9 because it only uses pump gas. the other gases are either hard to find or expensive.
If your E900 is only mapped for certain ethanol rates it's pretty much useless in the US. Ethanol are quite rare, the only solution would be to have a flexfuel map sensor which could run like 93 oct,98 oct, C16 racefuel and other high octane fuels. But yeah the kit kosts arround 60k$. To be honest i would rather upgrade the Alpha 10 package from AMS with full built motor and transmission. Making 1100 hp on C16 :)
However, if someone doesn't know what they are looking at, it's just another Nissan. If it had a Ferrari or Lamborghini badge, the average person would expect it to be fast. But I do agree with your idea about what a sleeper is. Something like a built Taurus SHO, perhaps?

This sounds like a backhanded compliment but it's not: It takes some impressive engineering to make 900bhp work so smoothly and without drama that it looks, well, boring to be honest AND be able to back it up with a 2 year warranty too. Very nice.
