Lider, vocalista e guitarrista das bandas Small Faces e Humble Pie. Essa música é da época do Humble Pie e foi composta junto com Peter Frampton que na época fazia parte do grupo.
Stevie Marriott his voice ......wish hed neved left the Small Faces at all. I watched them perform at the famous Wardour street ...amazing so happy I have pics from those gigs.
Marriott Was The Bulldogs Bollocks , He Had Everything as a Performer, The Full Package Everything and He was 5ft nothing, You Couldn’t Make it up ..MEGA His Death was a Loss to all of us as far as I’m Concerned, and there’s Still NO ONE TO TOUCH HIM TO THIS DAY 2021…⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👑🙌
One of the greatest singer / guitar players to ever walk this planet. Saw Humble Pie in the early '70's in Baltimore, Md. Phenomenal!!! Frampton was along for the ride.
Instantly recognizable... Three cords that change music for us true rock heads, E G A were never the same. Steve was the master that blended True Blues with Hammering Rock, to make the 70’s what they were... The best music of the century! ( Note 1:27 and 6:54 )
I’m old but thankful I saw Steve with the Small Faces when they toured Australia with the Who in 1968 … He was my favourite singer back then and still is to this very day in 2021 …
I am to young to have seen Humble Pie. All I can add here is my opinion and that is Steve Marriott was way ahead of his time. One of the greatest rock voices and guitar tones in history. He played the s#!t out of this classic ! I'm going back to watch this again! RIP Steve your influence lives on 🎸🎤
Went to see Frampton about 10 years ago and in between songs he was talking about "Stevie"...and "Pie". I heard the guy in front of me (possibly 40's) asking his mate, "Who's Stevie Pie"!! Felt like dragging him to the exit and lobbing him out. Great gig though.
I saw Steve at a pub in Doncaster on his last tour and as it was my b/day we had a few drinks when he,d finished. On of the most honest and truthful people I have ever met... Long live the Marriott
I was so upset when the Small Faces broke up that I kind of lost interest in Stevie for a while... I think I ‘blamed’ him for the split lol... well, I was quite young at the time! So glad I got over my ‘hurt’ enough to get tickets to see Humble Pie play the exotic Walthamstow Technical College concert hall in the very early ‘70’s. They were phenomenal... their thundering power on I Don’t Need No Doctor will live with me forever!
I just saw Humble Pie and it wasn't the originals but the guys played and sang well....Steve cannot be replaced but they are keeping the music alive!!! RIP Steve...your music and memory lives on💙🎸🎶🎵🎶
This is the era I saw Marriott. As is obvious he was a great rhythm guitarist which is a big part of why Rockin The Fillmore lives on as a classic. When you combined that playing with Frampton’s virtuoso leads and plucky harmony vocals to Marriotts rasp and not to mention Ridleys bravado, the outcome was really a gas - it was really a gas man.
Never forgot seeing Steve Marriott and Humble Pie in my Freshman Year, Rocked the house down in Chicago at The Amphitheater. Best Concert Ever in 1972!!!!!
In the world of music after the revolution in the 50s there were many extraordinary singers who fitted the description "Lead Vocalist"..... Buddy Holly, Elvis, Gene Vincent, Jerry Lee, et al, Jagger, Bowie, Lennon, et al - however there was one vocalist who shone brighter than the rest...if you weren't there you could never imagine the raw talent and the honed, professionally trained artistry of Steve Marriott. If you don't believe me then you must go to CZcams "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake" listen to the wonder of Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Ian MacLagen and Kenny Jones! Sublime musical theatre!
Love the last part of the comment "Sublime musical theatre" the requirement for being entertained whether in a large production or small intimate settting Standing only for the quality of Mr Marriot because I wouldn't be able to keep still.
This is a fantastic version! I was lucky enuf to see “the pie” do this at winterland SF & later, and I have to saw this version, which I hadn’t heard before brings chills, it’s every bit as good as the originals and maybe better. Steve really knew how to take a song’s dynamics through the highest highs & slowest and lowest of lows. Also his vocal rhythmic timing & harmonies are amazing. In my opinion this is one of the greatest rock songs of all time. Surely top10. Your music lives on, RIP Steve!
@@j.watson1644 I saw them in 72, after Frampton had left, with J. Geils at Convention hall, Asbury park, NJ. Right across from the Stone Pony, where Bruce played a lot.
Well, I'm not too young to have seen Humble Pie live, and they had a well-deserved rep for rockin' the house down! Especially the guitar tone they achieved on songs like Don't Need, both bluesy and nasty rock. But this flavor of the Steve Marriott band was very musical, the bass and guitar having some fun-- give it a listen. Worth every minute.
was fortunate enough to see Steve & the Packet of Three many times in the 1980's in tiny pubs & clubs around London, feel so blessed to have seen him wish he was still around today
I watched this Packet of Three line up play the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone in 1980's. How 3 guys could get so much out of a compact line up ... awesome
Thanks for sharing this julio7489 ... I saw Humble Pie live many times including being front row at the famous Fillmore East concert where you can hear me & my buddies on the recording. I've seen all the "big bands" & by far that Fillmore East Humble Pie concert was the best ever live show.....ever
Wow! What a killer show. I was only 11 in '72,so I never saw them.So this show is about 10 years after Pie broke up.Steve's voice is a little more worn, but still pretty great. If they had another person to sing backing/harmony vocals, it would be darn near the classic Fillmore performance of this song.
Saw humble pie a few times in the 70s, most memorable show was at the selland arena fresno ca literally hung from the stage and almost got taken out by Steve Marriott, Steve was doing his thing and came within inches of kicking me in the head, Awesome memories!
THE SLOW VERSION OF THIS SONG DOES NO JUSTICE, I AM SORRY BUT I DONT NEED NO DOCTOR ROCKIN THE FILMORE FROM 1971 IS THE ONLY VERSION THAT IS SUITABLE FOR THIS KICK-ASS TAKE NO PRISONERS SONG WHEN PLAYED FAST, MEAN, AND NASTY WITH A TON OF SALTINESS ADDED AND IT NEEDS TO BE PLAYED LOUD ENOUGH TO WAKE UP THE DEAD.
As always the mighty
HUMBLE PIE KICKS ASS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marriott was everything rock is supposed to be.
One of the greatest singer / guitar players to ever walk this planet. Saw Humble Pie in the early '70's in Baltimore, Md. Phenomenal!!! Frampton was along for the ride.
I am so old that thankfully I will never forget Humble Pie, Steve could rock his ass off !

Didn't do too bad in the 60's either?
I’m old but thankful I saw Steve with the Small Faces when they toured Australia with the Who in 1968 … He was my favourite singer back then and still is to this very day in 2021 …
Saw them in 1973 in Sacramento. Humble Pie was the best hard rock blues band ever. Steve's voice is so distinctive.
Jesus Steve was a bonafide bad ass ! and a Gibson player at that.

What a great jam. Fantastic voice of Steve too.

A stone gas!
Marriott goes toe to toe with Frampton on Leads!
@@edwardmilko2914
Not really...
You’re right.
Marriot is better!
@@edwardmilko2914
Not,from a players view..@
i played with the small faces in bristol corn exchange in the 60 s. they were great then.
Never forgot seeing Steve Marriott and Humble Pie in my Freshman Year, Rocked the house down in Chicago at The Amphitheater. Best Concert Ever in 1972!!!!!
for ever in my heart STEVE!!!!!!!!!!!

So Sad, what a talent n little recognition for it........
What a powerful performance! Marriott could sing in any era of rock and roll!
Oh Hell Yeah. Got turned onto the Pie in the mid 1970's. Still listening.
This is a fantastic version! Outstanding as always! RIP Steve Marriott. You were a force in rock n roll!!!
I saw the pie with JGeils and we rocked all night!
Was that around '71 or '72 at the Imperial College in London? All night gig if I remember right.
Cobo arena..detroit ?

stupendous Thank You
As we say these days, he was a bad man. 😎
was fortunate enough to see Steve & the Packet of Three many times in the 1980's in tiny pubs & clubs around London, feel so blessed to have seen him wish he was still around today
Saw them at the Fillmore east 1970 what a show Rockin mothers
harold kramer right on man....that's groovy.
CURTO. MUITO. ESSE. CARA,
A band you had to see to know how great they were live. One of the best ever
I watched this Packet of Three line up play the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone in 1980's. How 3 guys could get so much out of a compact line up ... awesome
That bass is making my brain fuzzy.
He had the best voice ever, but was also a great guitarist. Supposedly his last gig was at the Archery pub in Eastbourne, and I missed it!
The guy could play lead or rythim his voice was still so strong even then if you saw him at the Fillmore he was at the peak and so was Jerry and Greg
Every time I seen him he always give 110%
Oh to be at this gig..
This is as good as it gets!
Absolutely great performance.
Saw Steve Marriott's all stars with Johnny Winter. Saw Frampton 2 times. Never saw Humble Pie. One band I regret not seeing
So sad he’s no longer with us, thanks for posting this
Fkn'hell, chills of joy up & down my spine!
I love how this slips from the sweet sweet bluesy open to the "kick it all day" rock and roll. Simply amazed each time I watch this!
Oh Joy. Wonderful Stevie Marriott. Love.
I don't need no doctor was originally written and recorded as an R'n'b song by Ashford and Simpson
U uuuuu bellissima

abbraccio da Roma e buon caffè

He'd never've worn overalls in 1967...but he really had nothing to prove to anybody, never did. He totally brings it
He was a skinny puppy in '67...
Thank you!
I saw him in 87 in Graz Austria same outfit.
AKA - "I don't need no Frampton". Wow I miss this legend!
An amazing jam. ANOTHER LEGEND Gone too soon.
Thanks a whole lotta times for this gem. Great jam I heard a long time ago and still love!!
Marriott #1🎸🎸🎤💯
Love his speaking voice as well
The first concert I ever went to was Humble Pie. What memories! Awesome voice & guitar. I still have the double vinyl live album I bought back then.🤗😌
Marriott rulez ... even in overalls! Listening fest of humble pie and small faces
I saw them warm-up for GFR and then Deep Purple. Talk about great double bill.
R U ever BLESSED💗

Brilliant. What a voice, what a guitar player (who knew??), what a band.
Back in the early 1960's he began.
