- Today I will show you HOW TO CROCHET this ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS BABY MAYA DRESS! New dress pattern DESIGN with DELICATE CROCHET STICH PATTERN BY CROCHET FOR BABY for 3 to 6 months. This little dress can easily be made into a baptismal or christening gown by simply making it longer. You can also crochet this baby dress or crochet frock smaller or bigger by simply changing your hook size and making it in the exact same way as this tutorial. Just remember these sizes are not exact they are approximate since not all babies are the same size. Thanks for watching!!!

TO MAKE SMALLER OR BIGGER:
NB use 2.5mm hook with #3, DK or 8ply yarn
0-3M use 3mm hook with #3, DK or 8ply yarn
3-6M use 3.5mm hook with #3, DK or 8ply yarn
6-9M use 4mm hook with #3, DK or 8ply yarn
9-12M use 4.5mm hook with #3, DK or 8ply yarn

Materials used:
Dress = 215g of #3 yarn ( I used Yarn Bee Heaven but you can use any yarn with similar weight like #DK, or 8ply)

Such a pretty dress!! Making those puff stitches reminded me I have done these before only in knitting. In knitting they are called NUPPS pronounced 'noops' and are worked by making several (how many depends on the pattern) loops in one stitch and then knitting or purling them together in the next row. I knitted a a shawl with my home spun fine yarn with countless nupps in each row and would have got into awful difficulty if I hadn't placed a marker before and after each nupp. Otherwise it is easy to knit the wrong stitches together! With crochet it is much easier as the loops are there on the hook to close. Thank you! It is the first time I have worked puff stitches in crochet. I've only finished three rows of the skirt and it is looking good but a long way to go. I am a slow crocheter.

I Just started making about 2 hours ago, I’m on the dress part now, I can’t believe how quick it’s working out and you are right, the stitch is beautiful and delicate. I am using Crafter’s square acrylic yarn in the color red(I bought it from Dollar tree for 1.25 a skein,it looks like I’ll need just 2)and hooks 4.5 for the yoke, 5.5 for the rest of the body as you prescribed to go a hook size at some point. It looks like it will be a good size 12-18m. I spent the morning trying to learn how to knit from your knit videos. I have already gotten the basics I’m confident with you as my teacher I’ll be able to master it🥰❤️

Sara, I have a beautiful #3 baby yarn...and I love the color its a mint..so when I look at any of your patterns...or look at my yarn. Ideas pop into my head on what to make with a particular color yarn..haha...Now I have to make this beautiful dress!! so should I use the same hook you recommended?
Hi Sabrina! Yes you can use the same hook size but your fabric will be more lacy. Now if you want it a little smaller then you can go down a hook size and I think that will look better. Good luck 👍

Hmm 🤔 yes but you will have to add more chains. I think I mentioned the stitch multiple for the yoke at the beginning of row one. Based on that you can make the yoke bigger following this pattern.

This is a wonderful pattern. I've finished the yoke. Question: At about 10:20 in the video you say you are thinking of making a summer dress, knitting from the yoke on down. I would love to do this! Can you say how you would do this? I have made the yoke for a 6-9 month baby. I could just pick up stitches and knit but I'm not sure how many stitches would be appropriate. Thank you in advance!

You can use a 5mm hook with #4 yarn if your tension is tight or 4.5mm if it’s loose.

I'M NOT A VERY SMART WOMAN BUT I LIKE TO THINK I AM UNTIL I RUN ACROSS THE WEIGHT OF YARN PUT IN YOUR WORDS. HOW MANY YARDS WOULD 215 GRAMS OF #3 WEIGHT YARN BE IN YARDS? PLEASE AND THANK YOU SO MUCH.
For this yarn there is 300 yards in 1 skein which has about 170g per skein. I hope this helps.
