As an Australian, I am only familiar with warmth at Christmas. However as much of our culture was originally transported from Brtain/ Europe there are still a lot of Christmassy things with snowy Winter scenes/motifs on them. The idea of a white Christmas seems deeply ingrained in our collective psyche.

I’ve lived in Sydney for 36 yrs, still can’t get to grips with an Aussie Christmas . I’d go back to the UK every Christmas if I could afford to .
Yeah I lived there for 3 years, always liked the winter months, warm without the humidity, then again you do get used to the baking hot, I d often wear a fleece jacket if the temp dipped below 24 .

Was over at the palms chippy a couple of weeks ago; incredible. Back in Tenerife 3 weeks on Monday. Can’t wait!

Had some great nights in Harry’s Bar, chilling with a bottle of wine watching the fountains. Also, the Hard Rock Cafe has a great rooftop bar for people watching. Great video, brought back some fond memories.

We have stayed twice in Las Americas over Christmas, infact we spent Christmas day at Siam Park but have to agree its strange walking round in shorts and a t shirt in the glorious sunshine looking at festive decorations and listening to Christmas music.....ive followed your channel Lee for many years but always great to see you back in Tenerife. 😊
As you know Lee, our time in Tenerife didn't happen due to the Pandemic and such. Though I have spent a fortnight at Gran Canaria over Christmas and New Year, I think it was 1998 and it was very warm during the day, mid 20's and not bad in the evenings. We were just outside the Faro 2 Shopping Centre at Maspalomas, very nice holiday, as others have commented, way better than uk at this time of year.

I sure would love to spend Christmas Day ( my birthday!) away. I've only ever done it once when I was 18 and really enjoyed it. Fed up of the UK's grotty weather. Plus I can never actually go out anywhere to celebrate ON my birthday - everywhere is shut!

If it were not for my wife's medical conditions, I would not spend Christmas here in Britain, in fact, the way the place has gone down the pan in the last ten years or so, I would not spend anytime here....

Why would I? No food. Just drinks. Much Better Bars around. However I wish em all the best, but I've moved on years ago. The “ grass is always greener “ they say . As a expat Brit , let me tell you , it’s just a slightly different shade . I’d would swap our health service for the NHS in a heartbeat . Stay in Britain is my advise , and embrace the jewel known as the NHS .

Hi Lee love your videos your right doesn’t feel like Christmas in Tenerife because of the climate but yes love spend every Christmas &new year there&dont need a coat 22c at night weather wise actually mild wind&rain 9c in UK.
My family been to Puerto DeLa Cruz not been south side of island yet looks great,been Siam Park near Los Christianos europes biggest water park absolutely fantastic &very hot.
Those fish&chips looked absolutely fantastic keep up good work👍
My family spent this past Christmas at the Santa Barbara Golf and Ocean Club. We had a great time in Tenerife and definitely will be returning. It was cold in Texas, but Tenerife was very comfortable and really no jacket needed.

Last time I was in Tenerife it was around this time 6 years ago, was at the Mediterranean Palace (Mare Nostrom now near where you were walking down on the strip)
I found it a little bit Christmassy, especially with the decorations and the guy dressed as Santa walking around ringing his bell lol.
Was more than happy with the temperature never needed anything more than shorts and t-shirt/short-sleeved shirts.
Good Evening Lee. You my Friend have just brought back very Happy memories of when Myself and my Incredible Friends stayed at Playa De L'Americas. We used to frequent VERONICAS!!!!!! Every night. We went to every Club and Bar until the very early hours of the morning. I totally agree with what you were saying about Christmas time with no snow, it must have felt pretty wierd. We spent xmas in cape verde last year. Enjoyed it but just wasn't the same... my wife and daughter (12) certainly didn't enjoy and missed home and that xmas feeling. Would do new year away but for us xmas is at home with all the family.

Hi Lee here in the very southern part of Canada we don't normally have a white Christmas. It's just dreary. I definitely choose the warm. I'm a Canadian that doesn't like the cold.

love Tenerife in the winter went in January this year left in 26 degrees heat and landed in east mids -3 and 3 inches of snow on top of the car lol

Iv spent last year in Perth WA, and it was well hot 🔥 🥵 it's a bit weird, but I was on the white sandy beach and swimming! on boxing day 👍
Just love Tenerife and have been before in December. Does feel strange to see Xmas decorations and have sunshine and warm weather. Las Americas is great and have been to Scampis a few times…. Lovely fish and chips there 👍

When I lived in Australia a group of us migrants from the northern hemisphere used to get together in a beach house on the coast in June or July and have our cold weather Christmas there.
People born in Australia are just used to Christmas being in the middle of summer.

I usually look forward to getting some skiing at nearby Cairngorm Ski centre at Aviemore, but snow seems to be getting less and less unfortunately. Aviemore is absolutely buzzing and such a cracking atmosphere when the snow is around, the ski centre makes the pubs and restaurants so busy in the winter. Nothing like a day on the mountains pretending to ski then head to the chippy for a fish supper then get the train back home to Inverness :)

Hi Lee. We were there in May/June and had a takeaway from Scampi's and it was really nice. If palms is a 10, which we think it is, then Scampi's is a definite 9. Great to see you back in Tenerife. Was there until the 14th Dec. Stayed at the Gala hotel, and had nice weather everyday. One point i would like to make is the the English Rose used to be a little English owned bar but, the pub is now modernised and extended in to 2 bars into one, and the waiter decided to help himself to a 4 Euro tip. I did question why the price was different to the last 2 visits during our stay, and he mumbled summat in spanish, and all i heard was "Tip". I would recommend that it's a bar to avoid. Still had a fantastic holiday though with plenty of drinks in the ((Railway Tavern) next to Palms chippy), Travellers Rest, and YOLO bar just to name a few. 😎🌞👍
