I've seen people (with other phones) complain about the screen on time (SoT) being less than 10 hours and etc and I'm just like "Dude, I feel like I've been on my phone ALL DAY if my SoT goes above 4 hours. I can't imagine spending literally half my day staring at a phone screen...

Phone is there for what it is - doing some communication when needed outside, phone calls, mail etc. My life really isn’t wrapped around my phone. After 7 pm I usually don’t bother to even pick up the call at all. Actually, most of the time in my previous jobs I have noticed one thing - people staring to a phone were absolutely not able to show anything at all what they done during work day. Nothing. Their productivity was zero. And results they had were horrible. Usually using social networks and other absolute crap for a whole day. Few times I noticed waitress to use the phone instead of serving customers. I reffered to the boss and such person wasn’t there next day. Luckily. Phone is a tool. Use it when you need to use it. I mean, NEED to use it. Social networks are not needed. I laugh every time I read somebody has been cancelled on facebook by some SJW. You know what? These people have moved their life into the net. Crazy.

I switched to the 12 mini and the first day I had it, I thought I left it at home, but it was still in my pocket which is how a phone should feel. Glad the battery has hit up the swolenasyium a bit, but I do miss all day battery.
iPhone 12 mini user here: Battery life is absolutely wonderful. I consider myself a bit of a heavy user, I really do feel like I waste way too much of my life on my phone. If I do happen to run it down to 20% by 9PM, I have realized my life is digital scum and I should re-evaluate my well-being. Those that run their giant phones dead half way through a day, dang. I’ve got from my iPhone 11 which I was barely getting through a full day after having it over a year (it was down to 88% health) to my iPhone 13 Pro Max and the battery life is ridiculous, I don’t need this much battery but it’s such a great feeling that I never have to worry about it running out in 1 day, in an ideal world I would have a smaller screen, but for the battery life - it’s absolutely worth it 👍
I wish they brought back the 5.8inch display. It’s my favorite display size other than the mini but like you said if only there was a pro mini cause then I would get it. I just want the 120hz on a mini.

Touch ID , 20 hour life, usb c, Touch ID in the screen at minimum. Wide and zoom lens (ultra wide is kinda useless to me, doesn’t look that good to me, still good tho, and I have the 13 )
That's gonna be a very bulky and heavy phone if they increase the battery further by a significant amount. 3800 mAh is what I'd consider solid but 4,200+ is where it's REALLY at if they ever achieve that. My personal phone has 5,000+ mAh it lasts me 2 whole days on one charge.
On the contrary, I wonder if ProMotion on the 13 mini might actually have HELPED the batt life, considering it scales dynamically all the way down to 1hz, as opposed to the constant 60hz of the current display on the mini. Would've loved to see that happen, but oh well...guess we gotta be thankful for the existence of a premium small phone in 2021. Also, beautiful set!
How is it if you turn off 5G which is pretty useless in most parts of the United States? Because 5G to me is less valuable than battery life and you can always turn it back on in a pinch
I feel like the battery life has been the biggest challenge to every mini phone because the size is literally what matters in batteries. As they tend to add more features to new phones it gets even harder to actually make mini size phone with a decent battery life in the future. I think 13 mini is the one to get after they drop the prices a bit.
Have you tried going into settings and switching from “5G Auto” to only “LTE”. You can always switch it to “5G ON” if you need to upload something or download something via 5G. I think that would help considerably!
@@stevenmay1997 no it’s not. In 5G auto it still constantly hunting for 5G antennas. For battery, LTE is better. That’s the point in her video, 5G is draining her battery. So turning it off will help save battery.
I was gonna say the exact same thing. I mean every phones battery is killed by 5g and I don’t really see the hype about it. Why would you drain your phones battery all day instead of just actually turning on 5g when you are downloading something big. I don’t usually leave the house and the first thing I do ist download thousands of files that are over 1gb big each.

I love my 13 mini. I use my phone 16 hours a day, but I have charging pads at my workstations. For me, the small size is worth any inconvenience, but it's not an inconvenience to set it town on a Qi. Really.

Just upgraded from the XS to a Product Red 13 Mini. Wanted to wait til my XS lost access to the latest iOS, but my battery had other ideas. Using a bumper and MagSafe grip, and have got quite a few MagSafe accessories including a portable charger that can also be used to trigger Standby mode. The change to a smaller phone hasn’t been a problem, probably because I had to use an iPhone 6 for about a month last year. Really looking forward to getting to know what this phone can do. My wife just got the iPhone 13 mini to replace her iPhone 8 and she likes it. She does most of her content consumption on her iPad mini 5 (mail, web, ebooks, electronic med records), which saves the battery on her iPhone so that she has no trouble going from 6 AM till 10 PM on one charge.
I got a MagSafe battery. I love the size of the mini. I can’t do a large phone again. I don’t always need the MagSafe but it’s handy for those clutch moments.
I actually upgraded from the iPhone 8 to the iPhone 13 Mini. I do get much better battery life now, my 8 would need to be charged at 3PM if I started at 8AM(I’d be inside 10%). Now I can make it to 5PM with around 40% depending on the day. I literally don’t have to charge my phone until I’m watching TV at the end of my day. The only thing I really miss is the fingerprint sensor, I really am not a fan of face ID. Outside of that if you are coming from an iPhone 8 or older, it is worth the upgrade.
Yup, I’ve heard that WB control is less than ideal with the standard camera app. Not sure if filmic pro has a better workflow but perhaps not judging by this video.
I think the camera blur is the giveaway. This video is super crisp and amazing! Since you can't probably change the shatter speed to 1/50 it loses the motion blur, still, it looks great

I have been using the mini for a couple of days. I am not a power user so it lasts me almost two days. I just charge on my commute to and from work and never need to charge it any other times
I just wish apple continues a mini version or I'll end up buying the mini next year anyway and hoping someone sticks to the small form factor for a smartphone in future 😂😂😂

Just switched from a 7 to the mini. The 7 was doing its job still, but I wanted the cinematic video. I use my phone for music on the road, messaging, and occasional pics, so battery life isn’t too important. However, I picked up a battery pack just in case after all the reviews I’ve watched.

The mini is gone. iPhone SE 4 (due out in spring 2023) will have a larger, and most likely OLED, display and battery. SE 3 is a great phone also. For as little as *$329* on the US-based MVNO called 'Visible' you too can purchase the latest iPhone SE 2022 (3rd gen)!
The mini seems to be calling my name, from the 12mini to 13mini I’ve just never took the plunge to get it! I find the 13 Pro Max way to heavy if you have it in your hand a lot, or even just generally in your pocket! I picked the iPhone 13 up and it felt like a toy compared to the Pro Max with how light it was.
Yes the 13 Pro Max is too massive and super heavy, after like 30 minutes my hands hurt as if I was holding a 20lb dumbbell so I returned it for the 13 Pro and my hands feel so much better lol
Have you tried low power mode for daily use? that used to give me a good chunk. I love small Phones, all they need to do is keep production of this design and update the guts
I noticed that a lot of people in america always have problem with battery life. Literally no one here complaints about it. Not saying we use our phones less. It's mostly because a lot of people here including me has a reliable powerbank that can be carried easily. Are powerbanks not popular in the US or something. Of course we don't bring them everywhere but if you're going outside for quite some time that your phone's battery is not gonna be enough then you're most likely gonna bring a bag and you can easily put the power bank in your bag or some just put it in their car. I got a 10 000 mah powerbank that supports fast charging for like $10 during a sale. And this is a pretty high quality one. Plus, it's the size of a phone and you can put it in your pocket (for guys since for some reason girl pockets are very small).
But why would you use 5g all day long, you have wifi in your own place. To me its obvious if you have 3g, 4g or 5g turned on it will drain your battery faster, it was like that even with iphone 5s. 3g, LTE, 5g (whatever) use it in emergencies only or while in a commute or anything similar, while being at the office, cafe, restaurant, you'll be using wifi.
I've always used the "vivid" filter on my phones since the 6s plus and I would get beautiful pics!! I found that the normal photos were always washed out , its the 3 circles icon in the camera app🙌🏽
I use the 13 mini for daily use and gig delivery with an ESR MagSafe charger in the car and don’t even have to charge at home. That being said, YT is my biggest splurge, not a gamer, and it drops in a pocket. First Apple iPhone so there’s a learning curve but so far after a week it’s fine
Go to Settings , Cellular , roaming , Your choices are - 5g on , 5g auto , 4lte . 5G on is 5g on all the time . 5g auto will toggle between 4lte and 5g depending on what you are doing . Videos will be 5g , regular scrolling of text 4lte . 4lte will Lock it to 4LTE only . If the Verizon Towers are close enough to give you Ultra Wide Band 5g , you will probably do ok with 4LTE . Try it . Your Battery Life may Double . The Ultra Wide Band is not needed , and will drain your battery . Its like driving a Gas Guzzling Hummer trough your neighborhood . A Toyota Corolla will do the same thing .

AT&T has real 5G, it just depends on your location. On my iPhones 12 Pro Max I can get 5G in most parts of north Texas, but occasionally it kicks down to 5Ge or LTE… which I thought was the same thing, but I guess not.
Biggest give away in you filming with a phone is the very noticeable shift in your skin tone. iPhones' HDR algo still does this weird subtle toneshift with different colors. The trained eye can definitely pick it up.

13 Pro mini would be a dream. I use the additional camera too much so had to go with the pro but hate the size and weight. It sucks to hold.

When at home, if you have good wifi, disabling %G is a good option to avoid the afternoon top-up

I don't experience a battery life shortage on my 13 Mini. I use dual sims on 5G and regularly get 8 hours of SOT...

When I say “work” I’m saying if you’re a tech CZcamsr or a social media professional, the mini’s battery won’t last too much. I mean people who rely on their phones to work. I don’t use my phone at my job so the battery is fine for me. No social medias too.

Just switched from a 7 to the mini. The 7 was doing its job still, but I wanted the cinematic video. I use my phone for music on the road, messaging, and occasional pics, so battery life isn’t too important. However, I picked up a battery pack just in case after all the reviews I’ve watched.
Love the Cat!!! I have the same type… her name is Bella… or Bella Boo , and a few nicknames lol she is 10 and was a rescue, a chore to change her ways but after having her for almost her whole like, she has really changed these past 2 years for the better….
I really hope the Mini doesn’t leave us. I love my new Pro Max but I could see myself downsizing next year if it got ProMotion.

The mini is gone. iPhone SE 4 (due out in spring 2023) will have a larger, and most likely OLED, display and battery. SE 3 is a great phone also. For as little as *$329* on the US-based MVNO called 'Visible' you too can purchase the latest iPhone SE 2022 (3rd gen)!
The mini seems to be calling my name, from the 12mini to 13mini I’ve just never took the plunge to get it! I find the 13 Pro Max way to heavy if you have it in your hand a lot, or even just generally in your pocket! I picked the iPhone 13 up and it felt like a toy compared to the Pro Max with how light it was.
Yes the 13 Pro Max is too massive and super heavy, after like 30 minutes my hands hurt as if I was holding a 20lb dumbbell so I returned it for the 13 Pro and my hands feel so much better lol
The 13 Pro feels really nice to me. I am used to that size though since I have the XR.
Have you tried low power mode for daily use? that used to give me a good chunk. I love small Phones, all they need to do is keep production of this design and update the guts
I noticed that a lot of people in america always have problem with battery life. Literally no one here complaints about it. Not saying we use our phones less. It's mostly because a lot of people here including me has a reliable powerbank that can be carried easily. Are powerbanks not popular in the US or something. Of course we don't bring them everywhere but if you're going outside for quite some time that your phone's battery is not gonna be enough then you're most likely gonna bring a bag and you can easily put the power bank in your bag or some just put it in their car.
I got a 10 000 mah powerbank that supports fast charging for like $10 during a sale. And this is a pretty high quality one. Plus, it's the size of a phone and you can put it in your pocket (for guys since for some reason girl pockets are very small).

example change your 5g on to 5g auto instead or if you just want to use lte change it to that setting

But why would you use 5g all day long, you have wifi in your own place.
To me its obvious if you have 3g, 4g or 5g turned on it will drain your battery faster, it was like that even with iphone 5s.
3g, LTE, 5g (whatever) use it in emergencies only or while in a commute or anything similar, while being at the office, cafe, restaurant, you'll be using wifi.
Yes I use Wi-Fi a lot. But I’m saying the maybe 1-2 hours of using it out and shoot has a major impact on battery.

I've always used the "vivid" filter on my phones since the 6s plus and I would get beautiful pics!! I found that the normal photos were always washed out , its the 3 circles icon in the camera app🙌🏽

I use the 13 mini for daily use and gig delivery with an ESR MagSafe charger in the car and don’t even have to charge at home. That being said, YT is my biggest splurge, not a gamer, and it drops in a pocket. First Apple iPhone so there’s a learning curve but so far after a week it’s fine

Go to Settings , Cellular , roaming , Your choices are - 5g on , 5g auto , 4lte . 5G on is 5g on all the time . 5g auto will toggle between 4lte and 5g depending on what you are doing . Videos will be 5g , regular scrolling of text 4lte . 4lte will Lock it to 4LTE only . If the Verizon Towers are close enough to give you Ultra Wide Band 5g , you will probably do ok with 4LTE . Try it . Your Battery Life may Double . The Ultra Wide Band is not needed , and will drain your battery . Its like driving a Gas Guzzling Hummer trough your neighborhood . A Toyota Corolla will do the same thing .

Wow. You’re on your phone a lot. That’s a lot of hours for one day. I agree, this is not a phone for power users. When I get my mini, I’m turning off 5G. The network is still grossly underdeveloped. I’ll save battery life and even speed in some cases.
AT&T has real 5G, it just depends on your location. On my iPhones 12 Pro Max I can get 5G in most parts of north Texas, but occasionally it kicks down to 5Ge or LTE… which I thought was the same thing, but I guess not.

Biggest give away in you filming with a phone is the very noticeable shift in your skin tone. iPhones' HDR algo still does this weird subtle toneshift with different colors. The trained eye can definitely pick it up.
