  • ** PLEASE, WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY FOR PROPER AUDIO! **
So, I decided to take a look at all the separate channels of some chiptune music at once. Thought it might look cool, since those waveforms are usually so pretty. I quickly put together a script to create this and other videos.
This video has a lame naive timbre-capture algorithm: it just finds the first zero-crossing and locks it to the left side of the screen. This way you see waveforms aligned to each other - at least most of the time. A decent algorithm is trickier than I thought. Until then, have another one. CZcams needs more chiptune anyway.
Here's an Atari POKEY remake of one of the most well-known chiptune tracks of all time, "Unreal Superhero 3", used on a famous keygen by Digital Insanity.

Yes ! Awesome tracks and the visualization looks great for the bend leads .
I would love to have the tools to make one of my own . You should make it a little open source software of this .

Well, it's not real time and I use a bunch of different tools for this. I use asap2wav to export each individual track as well as the full thing, I crop and fade to the appropriate lengths using an audio editor (as well as converting the tracks to mono), then I run these through the script to generate a bunch of PNG frames, which are later assembled into a video file and muxed along with the audio track.
I'd have to modify ASAP before I could do this, and it wouldn't be worth the effort for the 5 people would use it a couple o times.

Ha ok . 'Seem complicated . I have a cover of the schubert's opus 100 on a gameboy i want to upload with this kind of visualization . I will try to make something in C++ that i'm just learning , it will be a good goal and I saw a lot of cool audio analize librairies .
Keep on the good work and thank to upload a lot of cool tracks , bye .
