@J G dude do u think we give a fuk how many people watch, the less the better that way I get a seat. Although we still get 60,000 plus to a game, we know you all don't like our footy but that's only because u can't handle hits without padding as per your footy.

Still remember being one of 10 NSW supporters in a QLD pub filled with die hard Maroons supporters. Pretty sure I ripped my stitches from my fresh surgery wound jumping from my chair when Trent crossed to score. Came back to watch this and relive that feeling. Blues for 2019 aswell!
That game is the loudest I’ve ever heard ANZ for an origin, it was insane. When Hodkinson scored, the roar!!!. The crowd definitely got the Blues home that night. I think we won that series on desperation, nothing else. Queensland were still a better rugby league team than us but spirit gets you a long way sometimes.
Fun fact: Luke lewis and Anthony Watmough were the only NSW players that had a state of origin series win under their belts prior to this win. Luke lewis in 2004 and Anthony Watmough in 2005. All other NSW players either made their debut during the Queensland dynasty or were lucky enough to debut in this drought breaking series.
I was born in 2002, the earliest origin I can remember was 2007 which at that time was the second year that QLD won the series out of a total of 8 consecutive origin series wins. for my entire life basically I watched the best origin squad of all time be the team I hated the most and in 2014 it was the happiest, craziest origin experience I had ever had, the first time I had witnessed the blues win a series to my memory. So many years of tears and disappointment culminating in a massive triumph. Full respect to the Maroons who were easily one of the most immortal filled teams in the history of rugby league but what a moment, a win that will live long in my heart.

Qld will never be as dominant again as they were in the years leading up to this match. It waa a freak of nature to have so many once in a generation players running around together. Slater, GI, JT, Cam Smith in one team for nearly a decade is a remarkable collection of talent. Add Cronk, Hodges, Boyd and Lockyer to that and compare that lineup with what NSW were putting out. Brett Stewart, Jamie Soward, Mitchell Pearce, Robbie Farah. And they were the good ones. Peter Wallace at halfback anyone? Jarryd Hayne was the only player in the NSW backline who would have been good enough to get selected for Queensland if he was a Maroon and not a Blue imho.
