      The fact the grouping of the rounds hitting the forrest around the "target" compared to the amount of rounds that actually hit the target speaks for itself. Good spread for short range with the tommy guns design during that era but obviously they made adjustments of the weapon design by ww2 for military use. THIS particular design with the heavier blowback due to the weight of the bolt doubled with Al firing with one arm makes it inaccurate as hell for further debate contact me with my non existent time machine so we can pull a brand new one off assembly and run further tests from 1920s

    Stephen Graham was always fantastic as Al Capone, but this scene is the moment where he really BECAME Al Capone, the icon. I just love how we see Al starting off as a young goofball in 1920 and then, steadily but quickly evolving into the legendary crime lord we all know.
    I don't know how accurately they got Al's personality, since I never knew the real guy obviously. But their interpretation of him (and all the real gangsters) is brilliant.

      From everything I've read, Graham's portrayal of Al Capone is extremely accurate and much more realistic than the DeNiro version in Untouchables (although I did enjoy DeNiro a lot in that movie). The main inaccuracy with Graham is that the real Capone was a hulking brute whereas Graham is fairly small: but I think in spite of the size difference casting Graham was the right choice, because his portrayal was just that good.

      @lambynighttrain Před 4 lety +39

      Pirate Man that’s not correct. The science is still the same. In fact, the likely hood of getting better product then was higher for a few reasons 1) the creation of cocaine wasn’t illegal so the ingredients necessary for the process were of better quality 2) the finished product wasn’t illegal so there was no incentive for sellers/creators to create more product by using cutting agents. Pure cocaine is pure cocaine and there is no doubt it was easier to get that quality then than it is now.

    The thompson wasn't introduced into the Chicago scene until after O Banion died and things escalated. so this is inacurate. Also, O' Banion was the first mobster during prohibition to actually think of investing in tommy guns, after Torrio's arrest, O' Banion went on a little "holiday" to get away for a while, while away he bought a tommy gun, predicting that things were about to get messy.

      O'Banion was the first mobster to order them in bulk. As for a few here and there, anything was possible, especially since the Feds and the Armed forces turned down General Thompsons pitch, making Gangsters and the IRA smarter than the U.S. Government.

    • @jacobpitts6846
      @jacobpitts6846 Před 4 lety +4

      @@TheRoach. no, but that's really irrelevant in the modern day. You can find about a million videos of people firing them and talking about the experience, including people with a massive range of firearms experience (like Ian over at forgotten weapons, or Larry Vickers, etc etc). And I've fired plenty of military weapons on full auto.
      A heavy gun firing a low energy pistol round is not going to have much recoil.
      Now, are you going to hit anything firing a submachine gun that weighs like a bowling ball one handed at 30-50 yards? Probs not, but it's not really a recoil issue.

      ben zhong only 45 caliber rounds? At a cyclic rate of fire? That shit is no joke. Two handed, yes, it can be held steady, we'vev seen footage of that with troops during WW2. But one handed, no way.

      Zaeed Massani I'd say 3 to 4 round bursts max but even then it's gonna rise up significantly. In the clip it just stays perfectly level. Not possible. I'm not trying to sound like an expert but I have been firing all types of guns for most of my life (military, security etc).

    • @generalcrustard0311
      @generalcrustard0311 Před 8 lety +1

    • @Ben-fx9kx
      @Ben-fx9kx Před 8 lety

      generalcrustard0311 I'm probably wrong but i was taking into account that it's pretty fucking heavy so that would absorb more of the recoil. I think the soldiers in WW2 couldn't hold it one handed because it was so fucking heavy (10.8 lb (4.9 kg) empty (M1928A1)) and that's empty....
