The nature of EVE
Before the fanboy-wars get entrenched here, I'd like to say one thing:
I have played EVE Online for almost 7 years and love it. I have pledged for Star Citizen, and I bought Elite Dangerous when it launched and have been loving that game too.
Let's all just enjoy space games and stop fighting.

I love this buildup of tension, it gives a a lot of depth without actually doing anything. I believe that story should be told through showing and not telling.

Still one of my favorite trailers they've ever done.
The first half of the trailer gave me some serious chills and a little bit of feels too.
This is all good and EXTREMELY EPIC... They've got something quite wonderful here, but dear god, I hope they don't fuck this up like they did Sansha and Incursions... I mean, anyone else remember all that hype, all those intense incursion events with GMs and huge fleets popping out of wormholes and like... Chaotic shit? Well, the incursions we have now don't seem to be going anywhere story-wise... and really, we could almost largely ignore it.
Theory, if this is done right, we build our OWN stargates into jove space soon, and there will be an npc empire with the same sov mechanics they're trying to impalement now, and we'll have to conqueror them... and then we'll start squabbling over the new expansion space.
After so many years of looking into the lore its finally paid off. The jove are realllllll

I mean... it is a “Universe” so... basically there will always be something or someone out there in large numbers that pose a serious threat to any space civilization. They hinted at it for so long that the players were NOT ALONE and there was a massive threat. Lol...

The real surprising thing is that it happens alongside triglavian invasions rather than on its own....NPC factions are really going nuts for sure, and since triglavians and drifters HATE eachother... this is no simple coincidence

What if the Jovians put their own gates offline. To to keep the sleepers out.
Given the sleepers' affinity for wormholes, I doubt that would stop them.
kinda thought that watching it they shut there gates down after carolines star but instead to keep sleepers within there area
Eh most likely the sleepers are at war with them they are ancient enemies the simplest and easiest answer is likely the best

destroying all wormholes in the region simultaneously.
Step 4: Initiate project Phoenix...artificially creating new stars in selected priority systems.
Step 5: Watch as the rest of New Eden burns.
Elite Dangerous is starting to feel like this with the way our story is unfolding.

I wish I still had the time to play this game.. its definitely one that favours students and the unemployed... my chars have done nothing since the first wormhole expansion.
I had far, far less time as a student than I do now.
the Whaler What i meant was that you cant really just play this game for an hour, it has to be like a 5hr session because it takes so long to get anything done, fleet up, fit ships, roam around while the people living in the space your roaming around in try to get enough people to attack you etc.. Plus you'd often need to stay up really late to achieve a specific objective like a towers coming out of reinforced etc. Its just something that's difficult to maintain once you have a career and a family to look after etc.
Know exactly what you mean. Having 2 or 3 hours between getting home from work and bed time just isn't enough.
NichoTBE You actually can play this game for just an hour, I do it all the time. I usually only do big fleets once or twice a week, sometimes less depending on my schedule. If you want to play it is possible. I guess if your wife is a harridan or your kids stay up past 9pm you might have problems but I've never had trouble balancing work, family and hobbies.
Now while I was in classes for 16-20 hours a week, working, and studying? No way. College was a big black hole for my hobbies.

It make sense now. He is my theory: The drifters look jove because the sleepers took the jove technology to rebuild. They needed Jovian tech to rebuild there bodies. My guess is, Caroline star is not just a super nova. It's a bridge. Whether it is creating wormholes or acts as some sort of cynosural field that allow sleeper ships to jump into jove space it has to be the way the sleepers have gotten in. And the Jovian star gates went off line because A. the sleepers have what they need and cut off the network or B. the Jove are still fighting and cut off there network to slow the sleepers down.

Completely blasted away by this trailer, hyped so much just hope they deliver but from what they have been doing to the game lately I am certain they do deliver.
Amazing as always, You really know how to tell a story that leaves room for a lot of speculation witch keeps us emersed in this Universe and wanting to see want comes next. Hurry, make Eve Real so I can be cloned, Then it will be "Eve Forever"

I love this trailer! It gives me goosebumps, when I think about what all of that would mean, if it was reality. HOLY CRAP !! .. :D .. As for EVE Online, I am eager to see what will happen in the near future. I hope for smth huge, I hope I get to own a Drfiter BS at some point .. xD .. or at least learn more about the background story! :)

Still saying it's not the Sleepers you are fighting, it's The Other. You know, the thing that talks to/possesses Empress Sarum. It wanted to build an army of clone troopers already with the Templar Program. That failed.

last time i heard one of my corp mates talking about how to fight the drifters, i was like not worth it. He said you need a cap fleet. BUT CCPLZ make a use for corpses like selling them or something cos ik someone who has 4k corpses in a container
So... If we drop a corpse in front of a group of seekers will they take it? And if that's the case will they pick up the play style of that character (unlikely) in some form of wicked AI?
