GM / Saginaw Tilt Steering Column Disassembly

  • This column is from a 1978 Nova ,very common column used in the 1970's. I completely tear it down, find some broken parts and some loose bolts. A future episode will detail full assembly of the restored parts.

    Really appreciate you sharing the makeshift pivot pin puller idea! It worked on one side. The other is so seized that I ordered the puller. Hope it works! Thanks for posting this. It's a great instructional video and super helpful for my CJ7 restoration.

    It blows my mind how many parts are inside the column.
    I look forward to the sticky steering wheel solution. The one in my 90 Caprice 9c1 is gross.

    Can you tell me the size of the torx screw that's on there? 16:35 ....Thank you so much for this video...I've been in and out the house running this back and forth doing my 78 Scottsdale Column.
