Man get your facts straight, she's a twice Tony award NOMINEE, not winner. You wanna know how I was 99% sure even before double checking? Because her score for Waitress was in the running for Best Score in the 2016 edition, which means it had to compete against Hamilton. And Hamilton swept brutally, winning every major category award, plus almost every award it was nominated for. It's a shame that her work was overshadowed this badly, but it's a fact.

A lot of modern singers have all the heavy lifting (writing, videos, playing) done for them, and all they really do is read a script and look pretty. But Sara is like 70% of the entire process of one of her songs releasing. She does an unimaginable amount to make art and it shows.

I told her mom right after I bought her first self-promoted CD, that if Sara didn't become a star in the next couple of years, something is seriously wrong with that industry. Well, she made it and she had to do it without those that think they know what they are doing. I will say thanks to You Tube. Her access and the smarts to use it, and of course her millions of fans, including a 73-year-old curmudgeon from her hometown, that love her and her wonderful music.

In terms of charting hits, you’re technically correct I suppose, but that doesn’t mean her music isn’t of quality. I’ll take a “one hit wonder” who actually has a great overall catalogue, over a constant chart topper who’s catalogue is crap. Hits don’t mean ‘good’.
One hit wonder literally means that it’s the only song people seem to know from an artist because it’s the only one that charted really well.
