Pokemon Yellow - Pikachu's Beach Minigame

Here is a minigame I never got to play as a kid. Pikachu's Beach for Pokemon Yellow. I could never play it because I wasn't able to teach Pikachu surf. But through the magic of emulators, I can now play it.

On the DS download, for some reason, you can play the surfing game even when Pikachu doesn't know Surf.

For everyone asking in the comments, you could teach surf to Pikachu only if you had Pokemon Stadium, back in the day.
You needed to transfer your pokemons to the game, then win some cup or wathever, then Prof. Oak could teach it to Pikachu, if i remember well.

I can verify this now. Used to have a gameshark and could give pikachu surf that way. Used to love this mini game.

OMG this is so nostalgic. All I did in middle school and high school was pokemon. I had the entire first, second, third gen, and Colosseum with an accumulated play time of over 20,000 hours between 3rd grade and graduating high school. I still remember this little minigame, I saw this video and started having flashbacks of using pikachu to surf and the minigame. Yellow was my all time favorite but I think it was Crystal that I had the most playtime on by far.

In the virtual console release you can just use the Pikachu got at the start to play the minigame

This was on an emulator, so I just used a code.

I managed to trade with a girl who lived in my street when I first started playing and managed to get Surfing Pikachu. It was a wicked game to play but I ended up evolving the pikachu and the game no longer works if you do that :(

But how did you get it to Surf..? Is it the way you moved about the room, because I did it exactly like you and Pikachu never suddenly knew Surf.

You can teach it a HM surf only on yellow or u can use a input code that teaches it surf

You can also make pikachu float with balloons on a certain move I can get the input code for you

If you play on an emulator, you can use a save editor or a cheat code. If you play on cartridge, you can use a cheatcode (if you have an Action Replay) or teach it thanks to Pokémon Stadium on N64, which is the only official way to do it.

Dude, this isn't a secret. You just cheated with an emulator and you're not very clear about this in your video. People are watching this video trying to get a surfing pikachu by walking around the house in the same way you did only to fail.
