1. Straight after arriving from the airport, they met the landlord of the house rented by Sarah and left their bags in the house
2. They decided to spend the rest of their evening at the restaurant celebrating their reunion.
3. To get slim figure, Claire had to stop eating fast food and other kinds of junk food. She started to cook homemade food every day. Also she decided to stop going to work by bus and walk to work. No strict diet. No diet pills.
4. Sarah looked great and happy with Simon.
5. Jack didn't say anything during the celebration though he looked at Claire a couple of times.

3. Claire said that she followed two rules: she ate only homemade food but didn't overeat, and she also walked much and never took a bus to get to work.
4. Claire noticed that Sarah looked great and happy with Simon. She also kept trying to show her engagement ring to everybody.
5. Claire believes that Jack looked at her several times during the evening in the restaurant. But she hesitates if he was simply tired.

Однокурсница 17 лет живет в Сан-Франциско, ее муж об'яснял:at/in оба варианта правильны. Зависит от варианта языка. Американский английский: at- физически в данный момент в школе; in-house учится в школе в принципе
Британский английский: at- учится в школе в принципе, in-house употребляют редко.
Мне сказали, что и британцы сейчас склоняются к американскому варианту

2. Sarah was suprised by how slim Claire looked. She doubted if Claire ate at leadt once a day. Claire explained that she just followed two rules: eat homemade food and don't overeat and also walk much!
3. Sarah looked great, it was obvious to Claire that sarah was happy with Simom and her engagement. She tried to take the poses that show her ring in a more flattering angle.
5. Jacked behaved rather quietly, maybe it was because Sarah ekpt talking and commenting loudly on everything around her, maybe he was concerned about something. Also, if Claire is not mistaken and he was just tired, she caught him looking at her a couple of times.
В косвенное речи когда вводит общий вопрос, используется if, а при входе специальных и вводим их словами, с которых они начинаются when, why, where.....

in a hospital - используется если ты лечишься в больнице;
at a hospital - если ты, к примеру, пришел проведать друга (т.е. имеешь лишь косвенную связь с этим местом).
По поводу текста:
Если мы говорим, что работаем в больнице, то - work in hospital
Но если мы говорим просто о здании, как например airport/bus stop/city center etc., тогда говорим - at the hospital.
Вообще непонятно, зачем столько заморочек с этим hospital

По поводу предлогом с транспортными средствами, есть такой метод определения, где какие применять предлоги с транспортными средствами, по которому я запоминал: on - если транспортном средстве можно ехать стоя, и in - если только сидя. Прокомментируйте, пожалуйста, имеет такой вариант право на жизнь?
В автобусе можно ехать и стоя и сидя. На велосипеде ты всегда сидишь, но, как бы, верхом.
мы говорим
by + транспорт (без артикля) - любой
on + артикль + общественный транспорт / велосипед / мопед
in + артикль + машина /такси
Так проще всего запомнить . В автобусе предлог не поменяется в зависимости от того, стоя ты едешь или сидя

1 - no, homemade is perfect here
2 - He said nothing to me
