“You don’t escape trauma by ignoring it, you escape trauma by confronting it”…. Absolutely a true story of my life! I need to see this!
Facts.
Your words have touched me🥲🥲🥲🥲
Story of many of us 🙏🏿
It's a must see..
I needed to read this. 💜
I’m so happy that she’s finally getting a MAJOR lead role. It’s about TIME!❤
This movie just might be the most impactful movie in our lifetime and deeply relevant to the state of the world we are facing together. It's truly a love letter to humanity. So many feels to unpack with this movie, every human should watch it and join the conversation. Definitely read The Warmth of Other Suns and Caste. Powerful, powerful, powerful.
I felt the exact same way when I saw the movie👍🏿
I agree just saw it .. still tearing up
This should be shown to 16yr olds in every school in every Country. Never mind studying Shakespeare or Romeo & Juliet! The book this story is based on should be the next book for every generation to come! Our kids need a wakeup call, this film is it.❤ Thank Eva for directing this film!
Just saw this tonight and it is a phenomenal movie. Didn't know anything about Isabel Wilkerson or the conversation about Caste. Highly recommend it and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is marvelous in the role and has a really gifted storyteller.
Isabel Wilkerson is an excellent writer. I read her other book The Warmth of the Other Suns which is inspirational and Eye opening as well. Check it out.
might be a good writer, as writing goes, but her "intersectionality" thesis is nothing but Wokeness at its most dogmatic. @@BESTPublishing
The book is one of the best I've ever read.
@@jdunlap850 I’ve heard different opinions on her books that they are written like a school book - not that there is anything wrong with that; just need to be in the right mindset to read a book like that. But I am interested -would like to know more.
Tell me the ending
I’m so ready to go see this movie , it was an honor to be able to play background in this movie had a dancing time and can’t wait to see how it plays out !!
This is Regals Monday mystery movie
Tonight at 7pm
I seen it. Worth it. Good movie
@@mskissmyazzify I’m glad I was able to be apart of such a great movie !
I just saw it and it was great
I caught this on its very last day in theatres. I wish I could saw it earlier so I could have spread the word. I hope it becomes available in streaming very soon. I want to watch it again!
It's available now!:)
It’s on Prime Video.
it may not be quite what this trailer depicts, But Origin is truly the most remarkable film I have had the pleasure of seeing.
"I don't write questions, I write answers"....words I shall live by!
❤❤❤❤
Amen!
The book Caste was life-changing. I can't wait to see the movie.
Caste is a must read.
I usually don't watch nonfiction movies but after seeing Jon Bernthal is part of this movie I had to check this out!
It’s 100% fiction 🤷♂️
@@BensRantNation
Fiction based on real life* I was talking about comic book stuff and SciFi respectively
It is fiction. They are trying to make the Germans in the 30s and 40s the bad guys.
Absolutely any movie with Aujanee is going to be phenomenal! 💯💯💯
Let me tell you something.... Me too 😂
I must admit, I wasn’t ready for this movie when I was invited to see it. I won’t ever regret it. 🙏🏾. I hope all who reads this, if you ever get the chance to watch it , be sure to debate, argue, agree to disagree with love and growth , with family and community in mind.
I saw this today, and it was probably one of the greatest films I've ever seen. It will bring people together. Everyone needs to see this film.
You’ve not watched too many movies.
@@eebbeerrttpp go play in traffic.
@ConsciousLiving101 - Totally agree ! Everyone needs to see this film.
No, everyone does not "need" to see it.
Agree everyone needs to watch this movie!
This is one of the most powerful movies that you will ever see...more than just movie...it is an event.
How has there not been any trailers on tv for this movie? Its been swept under just like nate parkers’ movie projects.
Neon dropped the ball with marketing this properly
Tv networks don’t just post commercials, trailers. The movie studio has to pay for commercial airtime. The studio is to blame
Swept under? Someone needs to purchase air time . Like any other product
I didn't understand anything from the trailer but I like Ava DuVernay and Jon Bernthal so I want to watch it.
Me too I'm still confused
One of the best movies l’ve seen in quite a while. A must see, you will be moved to tears.
I was about to say the same thing. I don't wanna come off ignorant, but I'm seriously confused by the trailer.
This is an educational and emotionally-dramatic movie 🎥 The emotional weight of it caused me to weep few times😭 . It must be seen to understand that the way some people are mistreated isn’t only due to race-it’s also the caste system that exists today. Well done UCLA alumnae Ava D and team!
Saw this movie this week and was one of the greatest films I’ve ever seen. Absolutely breathtaking. A very important movie. A movie everyone needs to see. 🎥 ❤
Not what I expected and I was amazingly surprised. It goes far beyond race and looks deep into the human condition as a whole and our need for dominance. Isabella Wilkerson traveled across continents to search for the answers to questions that all people groups, cultures, "castes", ALL OF US should ask ourselves. This is a well produced, powerfully acted, deeply thoughtful drama that both lifts and humbles the spirit. A must watch.
I came here from watching Ava D's masterclass on how she went about this movie and I loved it soo much I will watch this later
The trailer does this movie NO JUSTICE!!! Go see it for yourself!!! You won't be disappointed.
Origin is truly one of the best movies I have ever watched in my life. As someone currently dealing with loss and has also faced discrimination in one way or the other in my life, this movie moved me to tears, sobbing. I've never been so emotionally enthralled by a movie on a deep and personal level. Also the character Isabel gave me so much hope and motivation to know that I can overcome the weight of my grief and create beauty out of ashes. I am forever grateful for the beautiful and captivating experience it was to watch this movie.
I watched it today with my other high school classmates on a trip and I will warn you that this is a slow burn and is very slow at first but its is WORTH EVERY SECOND! IT'S WORTH IT!
01/26/2024: This movie is excellent. It is entertaining and educational. I plan on buying the movie. I have love actress Aunjane Ellis-Taylor since "Girls Town" and "Undercover Brother", her performance in this is outstanding. Now, I have to read the book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents.
An exceptional movie. There was not a dry eye in that cinema by the time the credits rolled.
I can’t wait and now I want to get the book.
This was an excellent movie. Shows the importance of humanizing each other and not having to be better or above. There's enough for all
I saw this yesterday and it was phenomenal. I sobbed at the last few scenes and I don’t even cry in movies.
Phenomenal??? A man named Webster wants a word with you.
I don’t get what it’s about. I might check it out and the book too. Not sure yet.
This trailer told me nothing about the movie. Isnt that what a trailer is supposed to do?
I was so thinking that lool
😂 I said the same thing
I think many people said that but the movie is amazing!

@@danm7463literally an account that has history but okay go off
Jon is preparing to star in the upcoming movie this coming month
Considering the depth and complexity of the issue, especially woven from a best-selling book delving into various aspects of an issue, I came away amazed that this subject matter was so well put together in a rapt, cohesive and cinematic manner, and my only regret that it was released so late in the season and was overlooked--or snubbed?**--for the Oscar nominations. Netflix turned it down as well as Hollywood studios, and she was smart/tenacious enough to seek, and then get funding support from The Ford Foundation as well as philanthropists Laurene Powell Jobs at Emerson Collective and Melinda Gates of Pivotal Ventures. These organizations don't throw their money away, and I thank God for organizations like them that fund projects that are worthwhile and add to the humanity and quality of our lives and the arts. The theater I saw it in had patrons that clapped, and so did I. See it for yourself and not let this review decide for you..and what a loss for those who prefer NOT to see it. (**And could it be possible confirmation of the point of the movie??).
It isn't. It's boring, overlong, and preachy. Du Varney is a woke propagandist. Just like 13, it is lacking in complexity. But then again, Wokeism isn't about analysis. It's about dogma.
@@johnmolina3284 You gave yourself away at "woke". Looney right-wing youtube is that way 👉

wonderful music
why does the trailer already have me in tears
Maybe you cry all the time.
Because you are overly sensitive.
Probably the music

waiting for it in New Zealand🤦♀️
Looks like it was shot on 16mm which is really interesting
How does this look like 16mm?
@@rcordiner some parts look soft, like the beginning part w Jon, and color is muted a bit, very vintage lens and 16mm “looking’’
Yeah I thought the same maybe it's to try and really capture the time they met they want it to feel the time not just say it's 2004 which maybe i'm way off base but when I saw that shot i immediately felt early 2000s @@mylesnmore
I saw this movie last night such a great movie. I must get the caste book and read it. This movie is phenomenal.

Does anyone know the music track? Its gorgeous.
At the end when the credits ran it shows Music by Kris Bowers. Might not have done the trailer but could be place to start.
Methinks you are on the wrong video.

Stan Walker. I am
This is a ground-breaking film. I'm so much better educated having seen it,
Fabulous film, probably the best of the year.. a message that is not to be forgotten.. And the way it juxtaposed Isabel Willkerson's life with flashbacks of historical event is brilliant. I could watch this over and over and over again.. Bring kleenex.
It looks good and interesting. Although I'm a bit confused of the setting. Is it in the present, the past, or is it a series of vignettes in different points?
She’s a writer babe… she sees history in her mind
I agree, a bit confusing but that's actually what intrigues me is that the trailer isn't telling you how the story ends. Best as I can tell this is about an author who is in some way trying to tell the story of racism, using ideas from Hitler to Treyvon Martin's death, but yeah I'm intrigued by the idea of the movie but not necessarily immediately drawn towards it.
@@Mike__B Offensive to use a great man’s name in the same utterance with that of a subhuman thug.

I didn't even know this was being made . . . Its looks amazing
Maybe if they'd turn the music up on trailers like this just a little more, you couldn'tt hear ANY of the dialogue. If there's not drama enough in the dialogue, pick some different dialogue.
Will this movie release in Europe?
Yess, i saw it yesterday in Amsterdam. Very deep and meaningfull movie with a great message
Now this looks like a winner.
I saw this movie yesterday, it was phenomenal. I could see myself in it
Not going to lie and hope this comes off right but the background music sells me on this
Kris Bowers is a brilliant musician and composer. Everything he does is pretty darn perfect.
Why does Jon Bernthal always seem to play a character who is dead
I know.. he's always a walking dead man >< .. I mean dead man walking
Who is he?
Please don't spoil it for those of us who haven't seen it yet!

iF the trailer is getting me emotional i wonder what it will be like watching the actual movie
I was reluctant to see it since films and books that touch on these topics can be deeply wearing on me. But I went and all I can say is, while some parts were difficult, it wasn’t a bombastic movie, and it seem to assume that its viewers could comprehend an intelligent treatment of a sweeping and sad human propensity for dehumanization and cruelty.
amazing book curious how it was made a movie.
The movie is about the writer and how she wrote the book.
