  • Requirements Workshops and JAD Sessions are amongst the most widely used requirements gathering and elicitation techniques for business analysts across the globe. JAD is an acronym for Joint Application Development. JAD sessions are increasing in popularity to execute requirements workshops as many organizations have an increased focus on collaborative methods. This approach to requirements elicitation workshops also derives higher-quality requirements and solutions, which ultimately lead to greater customer satisfaction.
    In this tutorial, I will be detailing the process of conducting an effective and well-run requirements workshop using JAD sessions. This will include an example of a detailed requirements workshop agenda for our case study project.
    Business Analysts often select JAD sessions to execute Requirements Workshops because it facilitates communication between business stakeholders and the technical team. In addition to the requirement workshops and JAD sessions in the following situations:
    - When seeking to reach an agreement as soon as possible
    - When seeking approval/sign-off on documents or deliverables as soon as possible
    - When collaboration and face-to-face interaction are possible
    - When decision-making and a shared understanding are required
    - When multiple stakeholders may have varying opinions
    - When examining solutions to an identified problem or business need

    This is the best video on workshops so far. Thank you sir. I do have a question. How often are workshops done in Agile?

    • @thebadoc
      @thebadoc  Před 6 měsíci

      You are very welcome! Happy to be of service! As for your question, Generally, these types of workshops can hap before the iterations/sprints start as part of the pre-iteration activities. But they can also manifest in the form of planning workshops and refinement sessions throughout the iterations as well, so the answer is really "it depends" on the needs of the stakeholders and team...lol. But I hope that is somewhat helpful to you.
