Taking me back to my 1st year in college.
You are correct, though, I have to say, some of us happy people from the 80's are sad, because we're now stuck in this time and have to listen to the crap they call music nowadays... :(
not only the music the life style very stressful more consumtive , traffic jam . work hard to find, and over population.
So many singers from the 80s don't get the recognition they deserve. They didn't need autotune or props. They had raw talent. HOw times have changed. It was great growing up during this era. Positive vibes

It's a great testament to many of the 80s artists that after 30 plus years, many of the songs they created are being used for commercials, film scores, and being sampled by new artists who don't have have the "divine" talent to create something of this caliber. I am glad I lived through the 80s as a teenager. Amazing time for pop music! This song is just amazing! Come on baby, dry your eyes
Wipe your tears
Never like to see you cry
Won't you please forgive me

To fill the void while you were gone
To fill this space of emptiness

Of flesh and blood I'm made

Born to make mistakes
So many nights I longed to hold you
So many times I looked and saw your face

I'm 41 and this takes me back to a time where I had no worries. Back when life was truly wonderful. I miss the 80's
Same here. Honestly I feel like the eighties are a state of mind and a way of life if you will it to be. Some of us are lucky enough to have lived during that time and understand that the dream of that time is so much more ellusive than anything worth desiring today. Today most artists aren't willing to allow for any sense of true emotionality and longing. It's out there. But definitely not mainstream like it was then. It's like trying to catch the wind.
Wonderful, full of rampant misogyny, serial killers, the cold war, and totalitarianism disguised and repackaged as communism. Ahh.
AUTOPHYXATION...Thank you for your input Debbie Downer. You sound like the kid who was bullied in the eighties as a child, and are still to this day as an adult. It’s very sad actually 😔
It wasn’t a great time for gay people, so I reckon I’ll stay in the 21st century if you don’t mind!
@@Name-qy9du I actually was not born in the 80s, and I was bullied by the oppressive social system of otherising that our society has unintentionally built up. You may call it Debbie Downer, but I call it Realism, and a bit of practicality. Wishful thinking (x time period was so much better) is all it is, unfortunately. And I'm sure you're well aware that the majority of adults dont believe in wishes

The 80s is the best when it comes to music with extremely good and complex melodies unlike today's shit. I call the 80s, the decade of the melody, when music was made up of more than just simple, linear and basically, neanderthalic beats.
I agree

I'm a 44 year old guy, and 80's music is almost the only thing I remember about my childhood. I have little to no recollection of daily life, other than I was sad. Sometimes, it makes my eyes well up, and I don't know why. Once in a while, I remember something trivial or inconsequential when I hear a song, and it stops me dead in my tracks. It's my favorite genre.

✌
it was a lot of fun and not a lot a worries like living in today's world
That was the crack era in my community.
The worries were there. The Cold War, narco-terrorism, AIDS, nuclear war, etc. It's just that life left space to appreciate things like a great tune by a great band like The Human League. I happened upon this video due to a great article about The Human League in the most recent issue of Mojo Magazine. I couldn't help but be slightly floored by how great a song this still is.
The music industry has changed radically, so it seems. So have we as people. It was always about money and selling a product but artists still created art. With our present need for instantaneous gratification and the ubiquity of media due to the internet we've lost our ability to discern and to appreciate. The irony is that You Tube provides the medium to appreciate this great video.
Lyrics:
Come on baby, dry your eyes
Wipe your tears
Never like to see you cry
Won't you please forgive me
I wouldn't ever try to hurt you
I just needed someone to hold me
To fill the void while you were gone
To fill this space of emptiness
I'm only human
Of flesh and blood I'm made
Human
Born to make mistakes
So many nights I longed to hold you
So many times I looked and saw your face
Nothing could change the way I feel
No one else could ever take your place
I'm only human
Of flesh and blood I'm made
Human
Born to make mistakes
(I am just a man)
(Human
Human)
Please forgive me
(The tears I cry aren't tears of pain
They're only to hide my guilt and shame
I forgive you, now I ask the same of you
While we were apart I was human too)
(Human
Human)
I'm only human
Of flesh and blood I'm made
(I am just a man)
Human
Born to make mistakes
(Human
Human).
❤Gracias...

This takes me back to my childhood! I feel SO old! Kidding aside, music like this was one of the best parts of growing up.
Do not feel old, feel great oportunity.
mmm .. the 80's sound ...the era of real music , not like today at all . feel sorry for today's kids :(
+Reuben Binyamin There's still good stuff being made these days but nothing like the music from the 60's - 80's.
+Reuben Binyamin So sweet and melodic , I agree =)
Unfortunately I was born in today's era. I love 80s music and because of that I'm the unique one of my friends
+Alex Da Boss I'm italian and I always loved these songs =), so wonderfull. I'm really sorry for now... Seriousely what happened ? =( ,fortunately there is CZcams for listen these masterpieces again
+Reuben Binyamin yawnnn.... the 80s had a lot of crappy music so stfu and it's not like there's this thing called CZcams where you can easily find music.
Honestly, I think The Human League was way ahead of their time, and greatly underappreciated. I mean, they had some iconic, iconic songs. Moments of brilliance. The sound, look, writing were incredible.
Agree...
@chicken Gorge Amen! 80's was the best decade!
@chicken Gorge I saw T for F in concert, about three years ago, in Nashville. They were touring with Hall n Oates. They were so good in concert. I thought better than HnO. I would go see them again!
@chicken Gorge Radio just announced that Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island passed away today. Dude, that's like my first t.v. crush.
@chicken Gorge I know that Ginger is still alive. I think that's about it.
I feel so extremely blessed to have been a teenager in the 80s!! I feel for our children today!😢
The same, the today’s children aren’t humans 100%. The next gen could be Terminators
True
I was a teen in the 70’s and feel the same way.
Heartfelt
Great song. That synth stab after she announces that she slept with someone else too is a defining moment, just perfect, goes right through your heart.
Me in "85" getting divorced and heartbroken, listening this song and all of a sudden, here come the tears again. Strange how some songs trigger memories that you thought you got over, 36 years ago.
For me it was Aerosmith's Angel. The song was popular around my sister's death and it's a hard song to listen to.
@@Moebian73 Whitesnake "is this love" for me
Happens to me a lot. Songs have a way of transporting you.
Time truly heals all wounds. Some take even longer than 38 years. But mine took 29 years. Sometimes u got to say F**k it and just let go , move on. Every minute that goes by, is another minute closer to us NO LONGER being alive.
