Seriously, if the Dragons board re-signed Hook after one win these guys (and all the fans) would be bagging them. Instead the board says he needs to justify being re-signed and these guys bag them.
I cannot believe that coaches like Flanagan and john morris haven't been even considered for as head coaches like shane took sharks from wooden sponners in 2014 and premiership winners in '16 never missed finals and morris who had a stack of injuries and had a tight salary cap at that time mind you also never missed finals and knows how to develop players and actually wouldve been my choice for tigers coach and i think i guy like morris who can develop players like sloan, sullivan, lomax etc would be great fit for dragons personally

Hook always seems to get caught up in this drama, I thought his sacking at Penrith was unfair, but this time round I think he hasn't done too well with the dragons, but then again who could ?
The Dragons should have fired Griffin at the start of this season, because now he is in limbo. Telling Griffin we are going to the market and looking for interest next season, is basically saying we have no confidence in you. I would imagine the only way for Griffin to keep his job at the end of the season is if Dragons either wins the premiership or reach the grand final, and given the way they are playing, i can't see them in either of the 2 scenarios, therefore Griffin is as good as gone. Lastly, doing all this the Dragons have caused a media circus, because now at the end of each Dragons game win or lose, all the media questions will be about whether 'Griffin can keep his job' and this is a huge distraction for the club.
A divided club is never going to be consistently competitive year after year
you guys are kidding yourselves. they were never going to resign Hook again after his 3 years because he's crap. so good they are looking early rather than waiting until the end of the season. he can now do his best without pressure, knowing it's going to be his last year. better to be upfront than be secretive about it. the stupid thing was extending his contract from 2 to 3 years. but yes, St.G/Illawarra have been a basket case since Bennett left.
100% there's no way he'd be playing sloan, bud and couchman if there was a chance to extend his contract. there's no pressure anymore. He was gone end of last year.

what BS - the Dragons informed Hook pre the start of the season - they are being up front, it's good management. Results business and Hook has underperformed so far. Win win for the club - option A Hook nails it early season, turns it around and stays on as coach ::: option B, Drags tread water until mid season and the air apparent in lined up. Motivation for both the players and the coach to perform
As an outsider, the Dragons are an Illawarra side to me now. Makes more sense with the competitiveness of Sydney

Changing the coach won’t change anything, the playing group have to step up. In 2018 Griffin had Penrith running 4th/5th before getting sacked 4 weeks out from finals. He can coach
