Their is no co cret evidence for the raising of the index. Proof is that there is divergence in the way it is raised
Some do a lil circle with gesture, some move in up n down while some simply raise it
According to me, had it been part of salaat, there would have been no divergence.. all would have followed the same just like we all do the same rest gesture/posture.

@@shaquadradeloiserussell8659 I know you wrote this half a year ago, but the chain of narration is very vital in Islam. The chain explicitly names every participant in the chain from whom the narration was told - your comment says "who knew somebody that said he said that she said", and while hadith does look a bit like this, every "somebody", "he", and "she" is a named, known person. Each person in that chain is assessed, among other things, for their trustworthiness and honesty in their communities. (Just think: if someone you trusted entirely said to you "this is word-for-word what so-and-so said", you would believe them, wouldn't you?)
Don't forget that Arabians in general were also highly skilled in memorising large bodies of literature, especially histories, hence why the Qur'an was revealed to the Arabs (a people very well-versed in oral communication and passing down stories verbatim for hundreds of years). Hadith was often memorised, and the chain of narration was also memorised as a prefix to any hadith. You say "hearsay" but vastly underestimate the capability of memorisation among Arabs in that era - if I had heard hearsay from an ancient Arab, I'd believe them word-for-word, personally!

“I prayed with Anas and I spent the night with him, and I saw him praying two, two (rak‘ahs) until when he was at the end of his prayer, he performed Witr with three (rak‘ahs) like Maghrib.” (Musannaf ‘Abd al-Razzaq, no. 4636, 4662, 4663)
This is an authentic chain. Please refrain from such remarks, first compare yourself to Imam Abu Hanifa then make these claims. Also I would recommend you to stop listening those youtube shaikhs who even say hands down in prayer is wrong, if they want to follow Hadees completely why are they not making just one tasleem according to the hadees narrated by mother Ayesha?
