Just found your channel from WWW and this is awesome. At my local pet store they have to baby crocodile skinks I want one so bad
@@owensanimals thanks so much! They are awesome lizards!
Love that you mostly leave them be, only handling them to check up, and that you keep the babies with the parents. So cool to see them living naturalish lives ❤
Thanks very much! I have a hunch this has a lot to do with why they are doing so well for me! Thanks for watching!
Hi from East Texas. I’m 76 years old and I have my first tarantulas 3 of them. I am a cancer survivor 2 times and I can no longer take care of a dog. Because the spiders take so little time to feed and water. Because of your CZcams and others I have become so interested in them. Thank you for all you do to help educate people on this lovely species. ❤❤❤
Just dropping into comments to say I really admire your dedication to bringing more of these animals into captive-bred existence, and the benefit to wild populations that will help to bring about. Breeding multiple pairs is clearly hard work and sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes thrilling.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate this! I’m doing my best!
Red eyed skinks are about as cute as they come!!
Couldn't agree more!
Thank you for sharing! Im very glad you have so much succes in breeding these little dragon! 🐉🦎
Thank you very much! Happy to share and hoping more hobbyists work with them!
"But it is one thing to read about dragons and another to meet them."
― Ursula K. Le Guin, A Wizard of Earthsea
Love this! Thanks for watching, friend!
Those crocodile skinks are amazing. I like that you basically leave them alone for the most part.
First, this video was absolutely amazing. Your work with these animals have been the driving force in my inspiration to work with the Uroplatus genus at the scale I have this year. This leads me to the QOTD: Though my goal is of course centered around Uroplatus, and propagating and producing healthy captive bred offspring, I realize that the reason I am where I am is because of content creators like you who have opened this world in front of me. I owe it to my favorite creators, you included, and I have always loved the educational aspect of the hobby. Last year, I wrote a book with the intent of educating, but realized that perhaps I should take a similar approach to that as my inspirers did, and so my goal this year (on a broader scale) is definitely trying my hand at content creation. I had only just started, but the journey has been rewarding thus far. I cannot wait to see where this year takes me and my peers!
Awesome update. QOTD: 2024 is going to be all about enrichment upgrades. 2023 was all about larger adult habitats that I completely decked out. So now it's time to find new ways to enrich their lives! 🐍🦎🐢🐸🕷💚
Fantastic! That’ll be so great! I’m planning a bunch of them too!
I loved that video, to be able to see all of your beautiful red, and white eye dragon skinks. Love your enclosures. They look like a small forest. Congradulations with the large number of precious babies. Love your channel. Cindy
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
Dayyan, thanks for a fascinating and beautifully filmed tour and congrats on your immense success with Project Mini Dragon! QOTD: to focus on establishing assurance colonies of radiated and Burmese star tortoises in Canada.
Thank you so much, friend! Congratulations to you too! Watching you produce both of those species in our country is truly so special and a blessing! Wishing you every success!
Thanks Dayyan!
I love seeing all the dragons. Sappy and Sunny are my favorite. They are so friendly and outgoing. Love your videos. ❤
Thank you so much! I appreciate your support and viewership! Sally and Sonny are the best!
This was like watching the discovery channel! Your videos are truly top notch, and you’ve convinced be to get done captive bred white eyed!
QOTD: I would like to upgrade two enclosures, and start working with a new tegu
Thank you so much! Glad you like them! Enclosure upgrades and a new tegu sound like a blast! Best of luck!
They are all so beautiful. Thank you, Dayyan, for introducing this amazing species to we viewers, and helping propagate domesticated offspring!
the enclosures are pretty
Thank you, friend! Some are giant piles of pothos but the sinks love the cover 😂
These are absolutely adorable little dinosaurs. Tfs ❤😊
Thank you 🤗!
You've got the best information about these lil guys on CZcams congrats on all the babies
Thanks very much! Doing my best to spread my experience/knowledge!
I just want to say you inspired me so much and your tokay videos made me buy my first tokay and I’m planning to make it a pair after a while :) thank you so much for entertaining us every week
That is awesome! Thank you for sharing! These comments always make me so happy! Thank you so much for your support!
Found you through Adam's video. Love love LOVE Croc skinks. Your little colonies are adorable and they seem to be doing so well! They're one of my dream animals for sure. They won't be part of my 2024 plans, but I'm hoping to get a leopard gecko in 2024!
My husband is super spooked by reptiles, but has said that I can get a leopard gecko because "i guess they ARE kinda cute...". I think a leo is going to be my best bet at warming him up to other reptiles so I am going for it. Small but not too small and fragile, cute, generally pretty handleable (And i'll make sure to get one that definitely is) and they eat bugs which is way less freaky for him than a reptile that eats mammals (Probably no snakes in my future lmao)
It'll be my first time keeping reptiles in 18 years and I am STOKED because care has changed so much and there is so much information and so many products now I am going all out on the little guy. Croc skinks 2025? :D It all depends on how it goes with this leo 😂
Thanks for the video!
Love your videos man, they never fail to make my day. Some of my goals for 2024 is to give my animals more enrichment like live food, live plants taking some of them out of their enclosures and let them hang out with me. Keep doing what you do 👍
Thank you so much, that really means a lot! Awesome! Planning to try and do similar! Wishing you every success and thanks so much for your support and viewership!
Ever since you first got these I’ve wanted them! They are so unique and amazing looking! I also love the vocalization!
It's good to see a keeper take such care for the wellbeing of their animals. Much respect for that.
Thank you so much!
I really loved the update on the crocodile skinks' red & white eyes. I am looking at Euromastic's as my next lizard project. They are finally here in Florida. They are way smaller than the gigantic Egyptians. They get a little bigger than bearded dragons. They come in four colorings. The colors are orange, yellow, green, and multicolor. I am very excited about working with them. They are very curious and easy to work with. They are friendly as well, and a joy to watch them check their world out. If I am lucky enough to get them breeding. That will be a true joy! This is just the beginning. I am working on getting the living spaces together. Then, the next step will be to get the 1st pair. They are priced extremely well, too! Wishe me luck. I hope you all have a wonderful new year in 2024 with many blessings.
30:40 I never noticed that some of their eyes are that amazing cool grey color, the regular adults look like they have all black eyes
My reptile goals for this year is to probably expand upon what I keep, and to give better care as well as larger enclosures for the individuals I keep
Love the tour! Thank you for all your hard work in making such a great video :D
I really do enjoy seeing your animals.
I’m so glad! I enjoy that you enjoy seeing them!
My goal is to make a thriving desert enclosure, with live plants, for my desert hairy scorpion/blue death feigning beetles tank. I work graveyard shift, and seeing my desert hairy wander around at night always makes me smile.
Bro you be dropping those things all the time
I know it looks bad but they are completely fine. It's better not to restrain them than grab them and stress them. The fall is like a ft. if that. I appreciate your concern! Tricky to balance minimizing grabbing with necessary wellness checks!
The next time you get a reptile or invert with orange markings (not a croc skink, lol), you should name it Peach. 😂 I’m imagining an orange baboon tarantula.
Haha I have a female OBT named Cheeto!
Wow! That was such an interesting video. Thank you for taking the time for such an indepth tour. I absolutely love the enclosures with the plants growing over the wood. Amazing enrichment.
My 2024 goal is to get this frog room/office complete. It is also going to have a larger upgrade for Loki my bearded dragon.
OMG!!! They are adorable! Thanks for sharing 😊
You are so welcome!
This year's goal is to breed my cophotis Dumbara and do some enclosure and lighting upgrades
Wow, fantastic! Best of luck!
Got my tank set up and finally ready to get my mini dragon thank you for the info
What a big impact to use non North American currency as your cash option for your wallet ad. Hits the travellers heart I think! Dunno why I enjoyed that so much lol
Back in the day, you peaked my interest in plants, I’d had a couple house plants here and there before, but you made me wonder what the interest was all about, I now have a house jungle, even though I went in a different direction than terrarium plants, you started that interest in me
Thanx for sharing great video
Thank you so much for watching! I’m so happy you like it!
Please do video about wear you buy and care your feeder insects
Love love love 💕
You do wonderful work and the terrariums are beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Well done Dayyan! Wonderful to see your success with this project. They are incredible creatures. Interesting convergent evolution to geckos with tail regeneration and vocal chords, but quite unique in their feet glands! May this year hold lots of upgrades, enrichment and improved hobby growth for all! 🎉
Thank you so much for the kind words and support! Happy New Year!
Great video, love to see them all. Such cool skinks. Breeding them to get them more available in the captive market is brilliant.
Thank you! Couldn't agree more!we def need more hobbyists working with/producing them!
So lovely to see the wonderful care you provide. I am curious about what dish you are using for the superworms. Could you share a link?
I commented earlier while watching the video. I just had to come back and say that this was an incredible video! So much time and effort was put into it and I want to thank you for that. I loved it!❤️🦎
I appreciate you! Thanks so much! This means a ton 🙏🏼☺️
To answer the question of the day, I want to upgrade my Blue Tongued Skink to a 4x2x2 and maybe put a pixie frog in it's current tank (40 Gallon)
For this 2024 i want to have one of your red eye croc skink! And go the reptile expo!
😊🙏🏼
Amazing animals so technical in your set up brotha keep it up I love it 🔥🔥 big fan
Thank you very much! 🙏🏼
I love how the lemon button fern spreads across the enclosure
I want the baby from Zero and Peach! Hopefully it's destined for greatness
Project Mini Dragon is what I live for! The Red-Eyed are beautiful, but I still like the White-Eyed best. For the QOTD My goal for 2024 is to get all 11 of my crested geckos into their "forever" homes. And to figure out how many mourning geckos are actually in their enclosure since I keep seeing smaller and smaller babies running around with the older babies now. The most I have been able to see at one time is 6 so I know the 3 adults have been busy!
This year I am building custom stackable enclosures for all of my snakes and lizards!
Very cool! Best of luck with your project!
Man I love these crocodile skink videos. I found a pair of white eyes for 75% off back in November and between them and your videos, I'm obsessed. I hope they continue to do well.
What kinds of ferns are you using in your enclosures? The species I've been trying as I set up their permanent vivarium have not been doing well and I might try and find a different species
Great video! Those Crocodile Skinks are amazing - and you have an army of them now!!! So QotD: I'm beginning to learn that my Paraguana Peninsula Boa is a lot more arboreal than first believed (or was told). I might experiment with getting him an Arboreal Vivarium setup, and then acquire some sort of lizard pairing for his old 4x2x2, not sure which yet though!
great vid awesome stuff
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This was great! Really loved watching these dragons, and my newly arrived project T shirt. I’d love to have this species, but struggling to find any captive bred in the UK. If anyone can help let me know 😊
Thank you so much for supporting the project by watching, commenting and getting your own merch! I hope you love it! I’m sorry you haven’t been able to find them in Britain! I know they are around but less common. Wishing you all the luck in hopefully sourcing some!
great video and hope to see more crocodile in the future.
Thank you! More to come!
Amaaazing!!
Thank you 🙏🏼!
Love your work! Hope to work with ya on some projects in the future!
Thank you so much! I hope so too!
Red eyed croc skinks are so cool! Great video and can’t wait for mine to come in!!!
Thank you! I couldn't agree more! How exciting! I hope you enjoy them!
Well, another perfect Saturday! As usual, I throughly enjoyed the video. And while I've seen your very early vlogs which were good from the get-go, it's clear you paid attention to Brian...but with a more 'low-key' presentation style. You both have been beacons to the passion of living things... FLORA & FAUNA!
Thank you, Dayyan...
Happy New Year 2U2!
Thank you for the love. It’s been a very emotional week for all of us. 🙏🏼❤️
@Reptiliatus Yes, and your lovely comments, thanks and prayers were absolutely heartfelt & beautiful.
Thanks for that, too...
No doubt from all of us.
@@beverlyjensen443 🙏🏼
Can’t wait when the 2 videos per week happen 👍🏽. Good video
More to come! Gonna try my best soon! Need to finish up the tree monitor build and hopefully get to it after that!
I am just starting my reptile keeping journey, and am building out enclosures for a hognose snake and fire belly toads. Later in the year, hoping to build out enclosures for a leopard gecko and a corn snake.
This year I will start a Drat frog vivarium, I have built the background using Gorilla Glue. I just need to find plants now and plant them
Amazing animals with amazing looks and behavior. The only downside is that they are so cryptic, that you practically don’t see them, and their taming needs a lot of patience and still they keep avoiding coming out. Probably not for me, but they are the best skink for a naturalistic enclosure. Congratulations for your patience recording all the scenes perfectly. Why are you using gloves to handle them? My goal for 2024 is to upgrade both of my snakes into larger and more naturalistic enclosures.
Love the video! We have a pair with a big water area and filter, have you found they have better success with breeding dropping down to a smaller water source? Always love the content
Wonderful! Personally I haven’t found it makes a difference at all besides managing it for the owner. This method works a lot easier for me than the water features as they tend to bring a lot of soil into them over time but if I only had one pair I’d likely revert back to how I did it before.
Thankyou for the advise and reply! Always look forward to more project mini dragon
Crocodile Skinks are so damn cute. A lot of my research on them has come from your channel. Are you able to ship to me here in Florida?🦎🦎❤️
I think I need to get some of these. They are so adorable 🥰
Awesome!
My reptile plans this year: currently working on completing my first bioactive setup for a crested gecko of mine. If it goes well, I'll do more this summer. And I really want a hognose snake, I'm hoping this year I can get one!
I'm glad you made this video. For some reason I thought crocodile skinks were a little bigger and scarier. Lol. These are adorable and sweet! My 2024 goal: i just created my first paludarium and want to get vampire crabs.
Maybe you confused them with Chinese crocodile lizards?
That was awesome. I looove a long Reptiliatus video. Do these guys shed?
Thank you so much! Happy you liked it! Yes! They do! And it’s super cool looking! All the spikes, etc. Usually they go do it in their water.
Oh my gosh, I didn't realize crocodile skinks made sounds, they sound so cute, I swear, there are more and more reasons to keep these beautiful animals
I love this project, I need to get a little bio going and get a pair
Thanks so much! Wonderful!
They all look so beautiful they are almost unreal looking. Also their little squeaks of outrage are brilliant. So how many of the babies, percentage wise, do you sell and how many do you keep for future breeding?
Hello great video information Dayyan
Thanks so much! ☺️
Hek ya!
Thanks buddy ;)
This year I plan to focus on my arachnids, new slings coming and a velvet
Spider as well as my tree frogs 17:59
So cool! That’s awesome!
I'm not ready to actually get a reptile yet, but I'm hoping to sell mealworms at my first ever reptile expo this year!
QOTD:, I just made a giant paludarium it's 120x40x50cm, 240liters or around 65 gallons and I added a pair of alpine newts and emediatly when they came eachother across in the water area the male started to wave his tale wich is tipical breeding behavior, so what I want to do this year is breed them and relaese the offspring back in my garden pond where I found the parents 😊
Letsgo brother luv it
Thank you! I hope you love it!
Did I miss the transition video from the tanks with water features to these tanks? Both look incredible just wondering why the change? Thanks for the video! Cheers.
I was wondering if you are still liking the new Leap Habitats for your mini dragons? This is one of my dream animals to keep and when you set up in the Leap Habitats, it looked more doable for me. Water filters are not my forte.
I am partial to the White Eye Skinks.❤
They are fantastic animals!
They're so so cute 💗
The best! Thanks for watching!
New skink pair- should it be Drogo to pair with Khalisi (ep?) Her first husband?
Thank you for the updatr video! I have been folloeing this since you started and am amazed how much you have done with these guys! Amazing work Dion, you really have had an impact here in domeatic breeding these little guys. As well as helping educate us all about them. Thank you for all you do.
I know the video was a month ago now but…. I had to say that your work with this species is amazing. I have a pair of white eyed ones. I can’t wait to have them have a baby. There aren’t many good places to get all of the proper husbandry. I would love if you could tell me a little about what make you successful in keeping them.
Hey, you should try feeding bananna to your skinks. My croc skinks enjoy a lil bananna from time to time. Thanks for another amazing video!
Interesting! What compelled you to do that?
This year I plan on becoming a jumping spider breeder linked up with my local reptile shop, I also plan on getting Viv upgrades for my rescue animals and maybe getting a few more frogs 😁
That's so cool! Wishing you every success! I really enjoy producing and raising them myself!
I am going to upgrade my turtle enclosure for my baby musk turtle.
Curious about your goals as a keeper/breeder. Do you think you’ll eventually expand to keep larger reptiles like Aldabra tortoises or Asian water monitors, for example? Or, do you prefer to keep more space friendly species?
Do you have a “wishlist” that you work through or just know what you want when you see it?
I'm getting a creasted gecko soon I have the tank and all the other stuff what are some tips for hand feeding
Omg, so many fascinating observations! The possible scenting of things! Didn't know they were so vocal. And pores on their feet to sex them? Didn't know these things! Love this vid! ❤
Awesome video! Do you have any available, I’d like to buy one. 😊
There is one for sale at a local store to me. I have been debating on getting it the past year but I don’t want just one
Nice! Can always start there and add a mate down the road :).
what do you look for as far as ensuring health/no parasites during the quarantine process when you get a new crocodile skink? or do you only buy captive bred adults?
I don't have any lizards. I have 2 sulcatas , 1 Bambam who is 10 n Frankie who is 3yrs old . I like to take them to public parks or schools so they can exercise graze n make some friends.
Is there a way for your vet to check this skink? Sort of like when they vent probe a snake? Then you could be 100% sure!
Hey Reptiliatus can you please update us on the sand geckos? Awesome video by the way 😊🎉
Absolutely!
Love the video I am so glad that you love reptiles as much as I do I have a gargoyle gecko I've actually had him for a year now I got him when it was a baby still don't know if it's a male or female I'm pretty sure it's a boy but still not sure I'm not an expert😂.
Question: I think he's shedding but his lips changed color it was a lot darker than it normally was if anybody knows please let me know❤
im hoping to breed my first ever reptiles! i have a pair of leopard geckos
Awesome! Best of luck!
My goal for this year, well more of a hope is for my pair of Red Eyed Crocodile Skinks to start showing some breeding behaviour and producing offspring. Hopefully, find a male for my other female. Great video, as always 😊
