The 2023 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race got underway in variable condition. A big rain shower rolled through with 10 minutes to go and took the wind with it. Luckily it cleared with a few minutes to go with the breeze filling back in for the East.
The race to the heads was a close tune thing between Law Connect who started on the Eastern shore and Scallywag off took of from the pin.
It was a great site as always as the boats charged down the harbour with lighting and thunder waiting on shore for then as the choose there path to Hobart.

👍 great start, felt for Law Connect with that furling issue, but the finish made up for it :-)

I am sure the crew will take the furling issue and the finishes any day of the week. They they were much faster through the last couple of gybes so better to have the issue early than at the finish when it mattered most :)
