    On HJCs european site, it shows there that the outer shell size of a small is the same as a large. Only when it becomes an XL and XXL then it changes to a bigger shell size. XXXL is yet another shell size.

      @@chaparralmotorsports that's interesting they went that way. I think the default for most manufacturers is S-L, and XL-on up, no?

      @@Yowzoe I have the I90. I don't ride that much anymore, so I cant tell how it feels like after 2hrs+. Just like the IS-Max, and every helmet at this price tag I think so, I do have some pressure points after an hour and a half of riding. It pretty much depends on wind drag, but a 5-min rest with the helmet off will do the job. I always have earplugs on, but this thing is quiet. Again, I have never gone for a $500+ helmet, so I cant say it is quiet than those, but it suits my needs well, and it is a bang for the buck

    • @ryanpham97
      @ryanpham97 Před rokem +1

      @@Yowzoe in my experience, compressible foam provides far more noise insulation than any triple flanged earplugs. If you ride alone and don't need communication, I suggest ISOTUNE Xtra (or 2.0, which is a bit more expensive for the upgrades that I don't need, so I stay with the original). It has compressible foam eartips, and it will fit in as long as the helmet has cut-out holes made for speakers. With a group ride tho, a dedicated device like Sena or Cardo is needed. I usually ride alone so the ISO is better for me, and it helps reducing an extra weight on the helmet => more comfortable rides.

    Could it be that the C91 replaces the CL-Max and the i90 replaces the IS-Max? If you buy these helmets in Europe, you get a ratchet closure, effectively denied to us by the US legal system. I've had two HJC modulars and the quality and value great.

    How much room do you have for your chin compared to the IS Max? I can't find an I90 locally to try in a 2xl but the IS Max is one of the few modulars that have ample room at the chin when closed.

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  Před 2 lety

      Hello, both helmets have glass grooves for eye glass fitment comfort. They have relatively the same features, the main difference is that the i90 is a modular helmet and the i70 is not. So eye glass-wise they will both fit, it comes down to whether you want/need a modular helmet.

      @@chaparralmotorsports thanks for the reply. I’m not using this as a motorcycle helmet but an Ebike helmet in the rd so I won’t see over 30mph unless going downhill maybe but I feel safer than a bike helmet with one of these. I guess if the dots are the same and features are the same my only concern with the modular would be how well it holds up over time with lifting it up. I do want to try to ride with airpods instead of spending the money for the Sena stuff so maybe the modular would be easier to get on and off?

      The i90 is a new helmet from HJC and is replacing the IS-Max. The i90 has improved venting, a new shell, more streamlined design and quieter design, comes with a pinlock ready faceshield. So I would say if you like the fit and feel of the helmet then yeah keep it. Thanks for watching.
