  • HJC i90 Helmet Review and Road Test
Join me as I test out HJC's modular flip-up helmet, the i90 Davan. This is a DOT and ECE rated helmet packed with features. At only £199.99 this is one of the best value helmets in its price range.
Huge thanks to HJC for sending this out to me to review.
The HJC i90 is a modular touring helmet with a polycarbonate shell, air-flow ventilation system and an internal sun visor. Its SuperCool moisture wicking liner system helps keep you comfortable on long rides. A special groove along the temples accommodates glasses so you can see clearly even if you don't have 20/20 vision.
    Technical Information:
Standards: DOT & ECE (3XL-5XL DOT only)
    Construction: Advanced Polycarbonate Composite Shell
Weight: 3.75lbs / 1705g (approx, based on size medium solid color)

Bought one on Saturday 30th Oct 2021 from J&S Northwich UK 🇬🇧. It was priced at £209. But as I showed them a UK 🇬🇧 Web site selling them for £159. They matched it. Fantastic service j&s.

Brilliant review!! And Great quality video! I bought one of these new helmets today (January 25th 2023) and I tried on 8 other Hjc full face (not flip)in the shop(Sportsbikeshop)in Leeds.mostly 2XL ones some were a bit tight and I struggled to put glasses on once the helmet was on,but this flip model(i190) 2XL size is really comfy and goes on easier with the flip up,or seems to! And glasses went on easier. This Helmet is stacked with features love the easy to use switches and ace looking sun visor.plus it's legal to ride with the flip in the up position on this helmet.plus having the spaces for intercom is brill. And a top tip for you all when buying a new helmet, find the same model in another shop and some shops will price match it before you buy it! They did it for me!

I bought the i90 , which is not generous on size. Great helmet, light and secure, but due to Covid19, I was unable to try. The Medium 57-58 is too tight and during winter does not easily accommodate a balaclava - leaving me feeling uncomfortable after an excess of 30 mins or so.

I just got my I90 Davan in the mail from RevZilla yesterday. I carefully measured my head and the size I ordered fits. Ive got it all set up and installed the HJC Smart 20B Bluetooth today. Havent tested it on the road yet but so far I love it. Really great looks. Very light and comfortable compared to what I've been using for a very long time. The install of the 20B bluetooth was a little challenging but I found a CZcams install video that helped me along. Sounds surprisingly good for music. It is going to take a long time to learn and remember how to do all the things it is capable of doing.

Good review, I am looking at this helmet and a few other modular. I currently ride with a Sedici Sistema modular but I don’t really like it. It wasn’t sized correctly when I bought it a few years ago. On a side point… the flip up modular portion on any modular helmet is not really designed to be in the UP position while riding UNLESS specifically stated by the manufacturer that riding this way is approved.

I kind of miss the old days of black visors and proper full face lids. So many riding round now with these flip down shades trying and failing to look cool.

Full face lids with black visors still exist I have plenty of them myself.

Nice thing about flip ups with internal dark visors is the choice you have when riding.
Warm and sunny, flip up and sun visor down.
Cold and sunny, flip down and sun visor down.
Pissing down, dark nights, flip down and sun visor up.
Nothing cool about having a full face helmet with a black visor if you get caught out in heavy rain or at night
Not something you want to find when you're 250 miles from home.

No mention of ECE or Sharp rating, weight or number of shell sizes. Not really a review at all

    • @Englishbikerdan
      @Englishbikerdan  Před 4 lety +11

Except at 0:19 where I SAY it's ECE and DOT rated and you can SEE the sticker on the helmet saying which ECE rating it has. It also shows the weight. I also add all of that information into the description. So, stick that in your pipe.

Why oh why do all these comments praise you? Your so called review starts with your rewrite of a typical press release and then you effectively advertise the thing. And then you just witter! Inconsequential nonsense fir the most part. This was no review!

Buy LS2 Sope and you have a better helmet for half the price.
