Im used to do this on my Snowboard and Ski, I also do alot MTB but mostly trail riding and XC and not there 😁

Could someone explain to me why the racers just go whenever during the beeping at the beginning. Is it not like a countdown to start? If they can just go whenever, why the beeping in the first place? They obviously can't go immediately after one another but there's always a marshall there and they could just say go when you're ready once the previous rider is down the bottom? They already have the chips to accurately track their times so I'm a little confused.
They have a time span, i think its like 10 seconds. In this 10 seconds, they can Start whenever they feel the best :)
@@mic_mtb Yes, the timing beeps really are about spacing the riders down the hill. The rider's time doesn't actually start until the front tire pushes the timing wand out of the way. Similar things happen in alpine ski racing events of a solo nature. If head to head racing, though, beeps usually are timed to a sequence of lights or a verbal count.

My guy has +8k worth bike but.. the gopro has no wind protection or enabled settings to reduce wind noice, soo annoying

IMHO the track is way too dangerous. Riders should drop their macho attitude and require much more safety measures.
Those tunnels are murderous and the upper part is way to fast without enough protections.
Safety will improve eventually. Just waiting for someone to die first so we can launch an investigation into what we can do to make DH safer.
In the meantime it's still safer than the Isle of Man...
Unless you ride at their level, you're not really equipped to judge the "dangerous"-ness of the track. Luckily for you video makes things look slower in speed, shallower in pitch, and smaller in feature size. Otherwise you might have a stroke just watching from all the anxiety.
Why are you armchair commanding on this topic, may I ask? What special perspective do you hold regarding the world's finest mountain bike downhill racers?
If you're not a racer or has knowledge about the sport your words were akin to a toddler thinking why others walk so fast and even run when it's too dangerous you'll fall and brake your body.😅
