Given me a great birthday idea. Quite cool for those who can’t afford one.
I did one of these days in Asheville, North Carolina a couple years ago. Amazing day!!
Its great to see they have these in the US too.
Those vehicles did pretty good off road considering they all had those “Take Mom to the Mall” tires fitted. Looked like a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing that with us!
Simon…what a nice film of what truly is a happy Company. I was pleased to see that your staff are all fairly young so bursting with ideas and positivity. It was a joy to watch…and to remember. I took a RRS TDV8 over that in 2011 and was puzzled by how vague the steering was when we reached the road driving section. When we got back, the near side front tyre was in shreds and only just holding air…thank goodness I didn’t fancy trying any fast Road work!! Well done for treating your staff so well…you have a firm to be proud of and must be one of the best Bosses around, helped by Mrs P without whom nothing would be possible…of course!!🫢😀😀😀😀
Hi Richard - glad you enjoyed joining us ! Grange Land Rover have some new 75th Anniversary Defenders in stock if you want one.... video coming soon.
@@L663 Hello Simon…Just found your message as we are away in sunny Sidmouth! That is interesting about those 75th series. I await the video but Mrs HQB thinks they are a bot too big..however a p400e with nice bits might make me wonder?? I heard on the radio coming down, that sales of EV’s have fallen significantly in the last two months and diesel registrations are up but petrol is by far the most popular. Well the Pumawe have on order for Hilary is a petrol 155 automatic….an MHEV which I bought was a bit of a chance but maybe not as much as I thought. Hmmm…I’m still pondering!! Now back to the suntan…well overcoat really!! 😀😀😀😀Richard
Brilliant idea of team building event. Every one seems to have enjoyed the Experience!
What I nice thing to do for your employees. Not just bonding, but also letting them know you appreciate them. In the scheme of things it is a relative small thing to do, but I always think you get 10x the return. Well done.
Yes it was really appreciated by the whole team... although its mostly me you see there is a whole team here that make it all happen !
Great video! Superb editing, & fun to watch. Thanks.
And here was us thinking there were only a couple of staff working with you Simon! You have a pléthoriques team! Well done to everyone !
What a fantastic team and company 🤓👍🙏
As you can see we have a few people behind the scenes making it all happen.
This is my neck of the woods, I live in Malvern and have enjoyed a Land Rover Experience at Eastnor years ago. So this video gets my thumbs up without having seen it! LOL. Everywhere you drive I've probably gone on foot swearing at Four wheel drivers cutting up the track, trying to avoid mud and picking up my Westie to reach safer, less muddy, ground! 🤣
You guys are just great, glad to see a company that takes care of their people.
Hi 👋I have missed your video but I watched it today. Very nice
🙏🙏
Hi Mr Virdi - all of the team love you and love your comments - you are famous in our company ❤️
@@L663 thanks 🙏
Really great work 👍
Brilliant video Simon looks like you all had a fantastic day 👍👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent stuff, best boss ever 😁
Well it was Mrs Powerful that booked the event.... this is one of the few videos where you see Mrs Powerful !
Great video Simon - and what a wonderful company that treat the staff well, so they all have the enthusiasm that you have for what they do. 👍
Hi john - yes some staff came back wanting to buy a Land Rover and it really helps them understand why our customers love their cars.
It's always a good day out with the Experience lot. Looks like you guys had fun! 👍
Everything was perfect - the weather - the food - the instructors... even Mrs Powerful had a great day out... this is one of the few videos you get to see Mrs Powerful !
Well done all. Great stuff.
Keep the good U tube going 💪
Love this for yall 💗 yall are an awesome company love the videos and products!
Thank you so much!!
Great! Best videos ever!
Our guy Ben did the filming and editing for this video - but we made sure he also got to drive the cars !
Great video well shot & edited Ben, it's a good day out, we did Eastnor a few years ago in the new Defender, certainly a lot different to driving our Disco 2 & 3 greenlaning, and it's a nice little trip up from the Swindon area to Eastnor.
Thanks for sharing this with us Simon, looks like you have a nice crew there working with you. I have ordered several parts from you for my Sport & Evoque so thank you guys and keep up the good work!
Thanks !
Great video Simon and well done to you all.
Thanks 👍
Great video Simon and brings back so many happy memories of laying out and competing in Land Rover competitive trials there (over the past 40 years) which including some of the areas that you showed along the Ridge Way and behind the Castle. It’s a great shame that from this year competitive use has been stopped but that is the way of the world and maybe one day we will be back there again. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as it looked - it’s a very special place!!
It really was a good day out for all - i was worried that although it was my idea of a great day not everyone would find it fun but everyone had a fantastic day out - thanks to the team at Eastnor Castle !
@@L663 Agreed, they are a great team!!
Great to see you treating the team to a day out, good music to the edit.
Ben took control of the video and edit..... awesome job Ben..
Great boss!
Thanks Mrs Powerful ! ( she booked and paid for the day out )
Eastnor is such a great day out. Loved our experience day 😍
The team at Eastnor really know how to make you have a good time !
Very well filmed, Simon! Well done!
It was Ben that filmed and edited most of this one. Ben does all the website images and descriptions and does a lot of our 2D design work... he is excellent at video editing..
Boom Boom!! 💥 💥
Looks like an amazing day indeed! Great job!
Enjoyable video and looks like everyone had a good time. I can't help saying that the pulled off rear bumper on the Disco 5 proves the shift to some LR models becoming less off road worthy by virtue of poor body work peripherals design. Let's be honest that track was not too extreme, I'm fairly confident that would not have happened with my old Disco 3.
LR's 4 wheel drive system is great but they can't seem to help themselves sticking on flimsy plastic round the edges. I was just watching a US CZcams about one of the latest Ford Bronco models, chalk and cheese - out of the factory with large off road tyres and covered in metal skid plates.
Didn't know... enjoyable!
I don't think there is enough space here to list all of the fantastic elements in and about this video! Here are some excerpts from what I felt and thought!
Well done to whoever filmed and edited this video!!
Well done to Land Rover for never being afraid to show their vehicles get damaged and to just keep carrying on!
Well done to LR for providing an interesting and challenging course. It is a pity that video never quite manages to show the actual slope angles quite as well as the human eye can see.
Above all else, what a fantastic company Powerful UK is. How many company bosses can anyone name that would drive the minibus with his workforce in the back and joke that the scariest thing of the day is he himself driving the minibus! What a wonderful, cheerful, generous and very capable person you are Simon.
....and mostly in jest (regrettably), as a Discovery 5 owner I was very pleased to see that LR had made sure that the Defender was fully supported with plenty of Discos (ahem)!
Thanks for your comments Andrew
Ben, one of our team, filmed and edited the video... Ben is one of our guys that is behind the scenes getting product pictured and on the website etc. We need to use his editing and filming skills more...
Also Mrs Powerful booked this day out - and you get to see her in this video.... a rare occurrence !
@@L663 Simon…I think I spotted her as you were all leaving to get in the bus…perhaps!! 😀😀
@@L663 Was she the lady in the blue padded jacket and brown boots?
@@mda5003 Yes thats Mrs Powerful..... she had a great day too !
I'm going there April 14th to learn how to off road my Sport. Brilliant taster!
Hope you enjoy it!
Felt like I was on board with the crew!
Would be cool to see a D5 Defender comparison.
Greetings from the US!
I done a whole day on a one to one and filmed go-pro on the bonnet it was one of the best times i ever had back in October 2019 the instructor took me a different area just up the road and had fun in lots of water it was deep about 500mm+ and long several meters o boy it was good
That looked brilliant Simon, I still have my half day to do and Eastnor is where the guy at the dealership said to go, he reckoned it was the best off road grounds of all the Land Rover sites.
Its where Land Rover do their testing so you may even see some new models being tested....
I was invited to the Jungle Landrover course in Birmingham in the new Defender. Thats certainly worth a visit if you get the chance. Again a great day out in an amazing car!
We saw the Jungle tack when we did the google earth tour of the factory !
I’ve been to several of these LR Experience days, the last one at Palé Hall, near Yr Wyddfa mountain range. Also a couple of factory tours. The last one was nearly twenty years ago though. The first factory tour was near the end of Series III production, probably 1980 or so. I was at a launch event for the new Defender at The LR Experience pavilion at their Halewood, Liverpool plant, but that doesn’t count really. Time is coming to order a new Defender 110 or a Grenadier. Can’t make my mind up which.
Huw - I have watched your comments over the months and I can see that you are coming around to the idea of a new Defender...
@@L663
I had a demo the other week and it did impress. The main pull of the Grenadier is the five seat classified as a commercial, saving a massive amount of tax for a vehicle that will indeed split its time 60% work and 40% car. The Defender commercial is hobbled to being a van only and a two seater with solid bulkhead and a cynically loaded price plus an extra three month [12 in all] wait on top of that for the car version. I have not even seen the Grenadier yet, let alone the commercial passenger version. I’ve been waiting for a new Defender for 25 years, having previously owned a station wagon plus a high-cap pickup for 22 years from ‘84 until ‘06. Trouble is that I’m 25 years older now and at retiring age, so most certainly will not get 22 years out of the new one. I also ran a Land Cruiser Amazon from ‘98 until it was scrapped in ‘18. Must admit that the Defender knocks them all, including my last Range Rover, a ‘04, out of the water in every way one can think of.
What a great video. Wonderfully edited and I am glad that I have subscribed and purchased products from you all.
LMAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ripped the rear Bumper clean off !!!!!!!!!!! 😆😆😆😆 D5 is a pink elephant
Pink Elephant is the parking company... white elephant ?
Amazing considering they are on road tyres
Best thing on these days out are you can hand them back at the end of the day either still working or not! And no cleaning!
The instructors have to wash the cars apparently !
Strange how visually similar the Defender is to the Disco 5 seeing them together
Strange fact - they share the same subframe !
Great to see you look after your staff Simon looks like you had a great time hats off to you.But not a good advertisement for LandRover the off roading look terrible .
Hi Jon - it was a great day out and Land Rover took us on some crazy courses - there are few cars that could do these tracks. The rear bumper incident was interesting - it would not have been a problem for the Defender. I am not sure if the car has raised suspension at the time - the lead instructor was driving.
Like you vids Simon. Wondering if you have thought about accessories for those wanting to tow with their Land Rover product?
So, when are you are you doing a work trip to here in Australia?????
A cracking day out have done 2 experience days at Skipton. We are out of control trust the Hill Descent
A company that looks after its staff doesn't need a complaints department
Mate - are you proposing to do anything for the Ineos Grenadier?
I would love to take one on the Strata Florida trail in Wales.... along with my Defender.... are Ineos up for the challenge ?
Someone messed up for the number to go. The experience places are carefully groomed so they flatter the cars. Some of the splashes are concrete lined.
They did take us on some of the non standard tracks ! even the instructors were saying " not been on this track for ages "
Is this the full day experience or the half day?
This was the full day experience with lunch too !
@@L663 thanks mate, booking one for myself then!
Yeah the defender makes the discovery look like a toy, in function and looks, defender has it hands down
Its odd as really the under pinnings of the car are the same but the Defender just wins hands down !
The Defenders were equipped with offroad tyres, and the Discos had road tyres... God knows why given it's an offroad experience centre. If anything it shows how good they are despite the road tyres@@L663 .
The Discos do have a poorer departure angle though, hence the rear panel departing from the body
What is that music in tbe video?
pah , the might stig would have done any of that with much more style
and good on you for giving the staff a grand day out
The Stig is the best - need to get him out again !
Tyres, tyres and tyres I suspect the Disco ones were different to the Defender ones, but neither suitable for muddy conditions like that. You wouldn’t play football on a grass pitch in a pair of sneakers.
You may well have a point there... the Disco also suffered with ground clearance / departure angle !
@@L663 yeah, the ground clearance surprises me as there’s only around 10mm difference between disco and defender I think, but departure angle is 30 degrees vs 40. Land cruise btw is around 25 degrees. Regardless, I’m a very happy owner of a D5 in Australia, on non-standard tyres!
😂😂
Disco 5 is no longer a Disco built for offroad.
IT did pretty well but the Defender was noticeable better !
Agree - see my comment making the same point. I used to have the 4.4 litre V8 Discovery 3, don't think that would have got it's rear bumper pulled off !
@@djsconsulting I've got the 4.4 Disco 3 as my daily.
Also got the TD5 D2 & the TDI300 D1.
They're built differently haha
