They should stop now. Most UK places are already reselling used clothing. So this is a GOOD start. As to the SE Asian areas.. MANY well educated individuals have also signed.. and they too have declared NOT to have kids already. In that Cambodian country.. what SHOULD be on offer.. is actually health provision... i.e. Decided health care, and not decided healthcare. e.g. Abortion facilities.... They should have THAT option... Making those women make things just... It feeds into the machine, doesn't it? Of capitalism. These women, once they tasted capitalism.. is going to be exactly like those ladies in China too. i.e. Sewage oil... It is a chicken and egg situation isn't it ??? Are you helping the situation, or making it worst ? I found an actual old video from a Japanese inventor.. about turning plastics back into oil. So how come we have not scaled that one then ???... @@casper6014 I buy only second hand for 2-3 years now and I agree that 5 is pretty reasonable. Also if it's second hand the number may increase as long as you're careful and make good decisions. But 20 NEW articles of clothing a year is about two new pieces a month. @@casper6014 That is a lot to take in. Don't compare yourself to other people, everyone has different needs. And if you have to buy new, try to aim for the quality. Because the amount of damage your clothes go through might be a sight of bad quality material. If it's a plastic material such as polyester, nylon etc and it ends up in a landfill, it will lay there for a looooong time. That's also why buying second hand is superior - Cheaper, you don't have to worry about holes or stains that much, you don't have to go to annoying stores. I don't donate clothing, I re-use it for quilting or as kitchen towels. A T-shirt can be cut straight across from arm to arm and hemmed on either side and you will have a pretty good dish towel. Fashion companies need to be responsible for the FULL life of the products they sell.
Laws have to be changed as soon as possible.
I don’t buy many new clothes, and when I do I now only purchase clothes made from natural fibres. I also only purchase from small businesses.
The only synthetic clothing item I buy is a winter coat/rain coat.
I have two linen shirts and they are amazing. They absorb sweat and dry easily, they wash well and don’t hold onto odours like synthetic shirts do.
As a start, I would highly recommend getting a linen undershirt or singlet. It helps to protect your outer clothing and wearing natural fibres allows your body to breath and regulate your body temperature.
A linen shirt under a fine woollen jumper will change your life. Easy to clean, lasts for years and is a classic gender neutral style that always looks good ❤

I really want to know the flipflop to animal creators. is there a way to contact them so I could potentially see about getting their products in a toy muchine?
edit: I didn't know how bad the clothes problem is. I already have ideas to include it into my future business (I still got no idea what I want to target as I have a very wide spread of things that can contribute to each other.)

They make HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of $$ off donations to supposedly help communities get cheaper clothing… I hate how greedy corps have gotten and get even more

H&M has horrible work conditions, doesn't pay minimum wages, people tend to work 14-18 hours a day with one free day per a month. On top of that they use cheap, plasticy fabrics such as polyester, acrylic, nylon (same material that we use to create plastic packages) that is not recyclable and if damaged or stained, will take space on a landfield for hundreds of years. On top of that, brands such as H&M (H&M being one of the most harmful clothing companies in the world) produce an insane amount of toxic and chemical waste that find its way into water, soil and increases air pollution.
On the contrary, I've heard H&M from early 2000s or in the 90s was much more focused on quality of their items. You can get them second-hand and some may already consider them "vintage". Since it is a fast fashion brand, their clothes are almost always in the second hand rotation.

The biggest problem on the globe is overpopulation, and somehow, people especially in Africa seem unaware of it. I personally took it upon myself to not add onto the global population. Resources do not increase but rather get depleted with increasing human numbers, leading to degradation, and also a fierce competition for the little available. Fish skin waste is something unheard of in Asia and Africa for people there consume fish with the skin. Europeans should adopt that, and reduce wastage that harms the environment.

Love the innovation happening but the only one I think is inefficient is the machine that turns one old outfit into a new one. It is more efficient for the machine to collect old garmets and accumulate the material where they can produce a set of clothes versus 1 for 1.

That H&M clothing recycling system shows the degradation of plastic fibers yarns used to make most clothing. Textiles are typically polymer thread in terms of material used in their production. Because polymers are flammable, they also have to be brominated to become flame resistant. Recycling the plastic fibers by making yard requires hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of specialized machines & costly human labor time to operate the machines in these pilot plants. I am reminded of one off hydrogen refueling stations- in both cases not leveraging volume production or cost optimization from higher scale operations with more throughput, meaning each unit produce similarly more expensive.
I commend the effort & applied idea to make such a system, only trying to encourage that many hundreds of such machines should be made in "helicopter" like series production to reduce the cost so that each installation can cost a lot less. BMW has extensive experience with optimizing low volume automobile production profitably, methods which could be adapted by a partnership between H&M & the German automaker.
I see lots of potential to recycle everything that humans use, consume, buy, discard. I think most waste thrown in trashes & trash dumps could be recycled using innovative processing like those mentioned in these video clips & segments. Thank you so much for producing this video to teach other people about it. I shared it on my Twitter handle @cosmicinglewood ^^ Cheers & Warm Regards
