- During the auction Elton welcomed to the stage actor Taron Egerton, star of the upcoming motion picture film, ROCKETMAN; an epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John. Following a short preview of the trailer and a trip to the London premiere on the block, the audience was taken by surprise when Taron suggested an off-the-cuff performance of 'Tiny Dancer', and Sir Elton John volunteering from the audience to accompany him on the piano. Guests were brought to their feet as they watched Elton John take his position on the keys while Taron belted out the lyrics to one of his most beloved ballads.

Growing up with an abusive dad I wished Elton John was my father, especially once I came out to my parents and my dad threw me out after breaking my nose. All I had when I left was my car, my savings, and an Elton CD. His music kept me going through the years.

Glad they included Tiny Dancer. I always felt that this was one of his most underrated songs, most Elton listeners I’ve met don’t know this one for some reason. I remember I first heard it in the movie almost famous, in the bus scene, was just blown away by this track instantly.

Unfortunately Elton sings the vocals in the lower register harmony these days. Only a handful of artists still sing in original keys & sound great-Steven Tyler & Bryan Adams to name a few. Bon Jovi also voice is not what it once was by still a great act to see live.

Jus saw the movie and loved it! Great music. I never knew how famous Sir Elton John really was. I’m first gen born in the US so a lot of music is still new to me. I had the similar experience to Queen after that great biopic too. I just downloaded tons of Sir Elton’s jams. Love, love, love his music. Maybe I’ll pass down these songs to my kids someday 🥰
