I heard that as i read this
I remember when people hated these reviews glad he didn’t stop I like em
Oh yeah, there was a hatred for these
Maybe because Joe was actually funny way back in like 2011 - 2012, and these videos are boring as FUCK.
Jayy Moran same. All the people bitchin and crying about movie reviews have all fucked off to go bother someone else now thankfully
SharkTank I’m in agreement with you, But that’s not how you should tell someone to shut up
I always liked them. It is their actual opinions and not some jaded critic bs.
Admittedly when I saw a under water review from angry Joe I thought it was a review of OJ bathwater sale. Had no idea there was a movie called under water.
Is that the helmet from your no man's sky review
@Baron Von Suey Okay zoomer.
@Baron Von Suey I thought it was from Jo mamma's wardrobe??
wom wom wom
....aaaaand I'll ski myself out now lolz
Red Lantern's Rage twat
From all space / deep / hazard reviews XD but yes.
Yes, it's the same from NMS review
I just finished watching the movie and, honestly, I didn't feel beaten over the head with any kind of environmental message from it. Yeah it was mentioned, but only maybe two times, and both times you could easily ascribe the character saying, "We should never have come down here," and saying how humans were never meant to be at those depths as talking to try and cope with how desperate and hopeless the situation is and how utterly frayed their nerves are. The movie had some problems, sure, but the whole "environmentalism over the head" complaint I just can't agree with.
14:01 lol I never saw Angry Joe look this angry, thought he was gonna deck Alex.
well he has to get angry sometimes otherwise he wouldn't be Angry Joe right??
somehow The Happy Joe Show just doesn't sound right
lolz
That was such a great moment. Both OJ and Alex said "no", "no" :D
I laughed so much. Love the AJS for all such things.
Joe "If I hear a spoiler, I throw them in the boiler" Vargas
Damn your right!!
Especially what he said next
Feel like this could have been in the Cloververse.
Glad it wasn’t
The suits made me think about "gears of war"
so you thought everyone was juicers then??
cus all I think about when I see Gears of War is oh look at those roided out juicers

@@NK-iw6rq since they aren't making the game anymore that's what they need to do. Make a lot of money.
Just saw it. The "message" or "preaching" is only like one or two lines. Also there is no real message since we really don't explore the ocean or take anything. Its more of a common trope. There are similar themes with Godzilla about nature, man, balance. Can't believe they complained about it so much.
Also it’s literally Cthulhu. And drilling at the bottom of the ocean where he slumbers makes perfect sense. And even the message he’s complaining about makes sense.
The movie didn’t felt preachy to me. Sure, the dialogue about the drills could have been done better, but I never felt it was an environmental or girl power movie.
It was a solid 6.5/10 for me, nice fun horror film.
Bleachedintea i agree with you on how it wasn’t that preachy of environmental stuff. Their of course gonna talk about drilling. Thats how you get certain resources like oil. The one scene where they say we shouldn’t be drilling was just one scene.
Bleachedintea why do you have poppy
-It’s a good movie and some good hidden lore.
I don't know where he got the girl power message from.
THUNDER CHILD19 -Yup, the ladies, for the most part, were scared shitless. Or had strong male support or help. “Duty” took over for some... no matter the hardship but I think it was done on equal ground.
I really dug it start to finish, I love underwater monster flicks
Same, it delivered what it set out to do I think joe and them are being a little to nitpicky with it
@@gspida25 I agree, if they really like stuff Leviathan they should have been in love with this. Any true underwater monster movie fan should love this.

This movie gave me heavy Dead Space vibes
Absolutely
@12canadianboy12 i thought she was gunna go full badass when she got the yellow suit but she only got a flair gun with 2 shot smh
Almost makes you think they should make a dead space movie or something like it
@@xxlilziggyxx9865 truuuuee

I said the SAME thing when I saw this movie... "They could totally do a damn STARCRAFT movie!" But Blizz probably won't ever do that. Hell, I'd love a good DIABLO movie.
Probably not after the massive flop of world of warcraft movie
@@David-ys4ud should've done a StarCraft movie first I think it would've interested more audiences imo.

That is fucking hilarious.
I was at a six out of ten. My friends usually tell me I don’t like anything. Movie was entertaining and tried something new in a way. Plus I enjoyed the panty scenes lol. I didn’t feel a message was beat over the head like Joe felt either.
I liked it too, entertaining at the very least
If you like something u like it don't let anyone tell u otherwise 😉

Yeah this was fantastic
I'm probably the only one who reaally enjoyed this movie :D
I loved it, so I'm in the same boat as you.
Furious Hulk -I liked it 🤷🏾♂️
I liked it. Predictable, but I liked it.
Loved it also! Was exactly the film I was expecting it to be.
I really liked it!
I think I know what Alex's favorite month is now. Real talk though, I really appreciate Alex always.
Yea took awhile to get used to him but most of last year he grow into someone I miss if he's not in any videos. He's better than Delrith who always stroked his beard every 5 seconds
I'm glad they have Alex for movies and news. Because too much Delrith actually makes me want to punch something. Something in his voice is very annoying. Too much of him is angering. Too much of Alex, well, that's not a bad thing, but early on, he was the same of Delrith. Too much = I wanna punch him. It just seemed like Alex hated everything and everyone but the Joes. Once 2019 ended, I grew to appreciate Alex more. Dude's not bad, just has a different appreciation for different things. To me, he acts like an anchor to the Joes. They get very expressive, very excited about things, and he's like "Time to reign these guys in a bit because they missed some of the bad things about those things they liked so that they don't score the stuff they like too high.
@@NeroWalker Alex and Delrith were the same for me when I first saw them. Both of them angered the fuck out of me, they were annoying and I wanted to just punch the both in the mouth so I can just listen to just AJ and OJ. However, Alex is the only one who has changed enough and showed enough charisma that I'm like "He's cool." He also, a lot of the times, the anchor for AJ and OJ. They'll get hyped a lot of the times about something and he'll be like "Look, here's why this is why that scene wasn't exactly as good as you think."
At first, though, fucking hated him.

I was waiting for the ultimate twist in the end where they reveal this to be a Cloverfield prequel! But, oh well.
Director William Eubanks Confirmed The Monster In Underwater Is Cthulhu
@@Freya_Blossom which is even cooler imo
21:57 when he was getting his leg torn off he quickly threw kristen the bunny. Remember? He reached into his suit and shoved it in her hands before he died.
He almost said, "Warning Godzilla is approaching the generator." Lol
I actually really enjoyed this movie. I thought the ending was good, and I recently found out that the big monster in the end is actually Cthulhu, and the little ones are his horde of monsters.
It kind of is. It's a Cthulhu/Dagon/Shub-Niggurath figure that they say is Cthulhu but there's a major detail missing; Cthulhu is telepathic so the characters in this movie would be about halfway to being as insane as the Event Horizon crew in _Event Horizon._
@@Mansplainer2099-jy8ps It is kinda showed the captain is losing his mind to some degree and i cant actually remember the scene but someone put up a comment about occult drawings in his locker.
@@xxTAARGUS Sure, but the main character mentions right off the bat there's no night and day that deep so it messes with your sense of time so it puts a strain on anyone and the Captain isn't depicted as so much losing his mind as he's tired and slipped hiding his daughter's been dead for many years.
I hear they put the literal drawing of Cthulhu in his locker but that doesn't really mean anything in terms of the story. That's kind of like umm... having vampires attacking an expedition and after the expedition leader is dead, you see he had a sketch of the classic drawing of Vlad Tepes in his backpack and then reveal the vampires come out of castle ruins where there's a boss vampire. Does this boss vampire do anything Dracula-like? Not really, he's just far more powerful.
One simple youtube search and you'll find the director in an interview confirm it's cthuhlu.
@@BBOYkiingKONG If you're talking to me, I did say "that they say is Cthulhu but there's a major detail missing".
They should just do a Soma type movie they already have a good story in that game they could change some stuff to make it more movie style but it's already awesome and actually scary.
That's a really good idea, even 4 years later haha.
Just realized the first person to die in the main group of characters was the black guy. P.s. in a horror movie lol
Tyler Fulco -Yeah 😆 I felt a lil honored
I was so sad when he combusted in his suit.... I was like why did he have to be the one who died first and he ended up getting the shitty suit like natural selection😭😭
DIgging too deep has long been a theme used. SInce ancient times, chthonic legends and horror tales have been around. THen came the theme in lord of the rings, and also in johnny quest where there was an under"SEA LAB" where either an earthquake or something happend as a result of an experiment, the seas floor cracked open, and ancient creatures that had been hibernating or loving isolated emerged and began eating the scientists. IT was the most BAS ASS johnny quest themed adventure I ever saw and I cant recall its name. Still...ITS BEEN DONE!
Alien + SOMA + Lovecraft... just amazing! This movie caught me off guard. I hate that Disney almost poop out this movie and didn't give a fuck. Deserved better marketing and spotlight!
again Joe, Warhammer 40000 series is in the works by Amazon, its based on "Eisenhorn" series of books
Is it live action?
So we're going to be seeing guardsmen... I think he wants to see Space Marines and Dreadnoughts. The stuff that draws people into 40k.

@@ScarScream Sphere was good, but they left out the Octopus scene which was the best part of the book.
I wish they could make at some point a high budget lovecraftian movie with maybe a similar underwater setting.
The bunny scene wasn't a plot hole we literally see him give her the bunny while he's being killed
PowerCrunch
Yup, was one of the last thing he got pull.
This woulda been a classic if the characters had more back story I enjoyed didn't feel like the "message" was that heavy handed K Stewart killed it also
The premise kind of sounds like the Cloverfield movie background story; with the company drilling deep in the ocean and something rising up.
The Cloverfield monster was an alien. Everyone knows that. If you watch the movie again and watch the last part, and you're looking at the right place at the right time, you see something splash into the water from the sky.
Director William Eubanks Confirmed The Monster In Underwater Is Cthulhu so i would like more movies just to see more
I'll wait until it's on Amazon Prime for rent.
I personally enjoyed this movie & I really want more of the universe to expand. The atmosphere was really great I enjoyed the setting & something about water I just enjoy the depth of the ocean
I think this movie would've been really something else if they'd focused a BIT more on the characters. But Kristen was great in this. She cops way too much crap for Twilight like let it go lol
She's a bad actress, always will be. Her facial expressions consist of one, which is slightly confused, mouth open, eyes glazed.....she uses that for everything.
Kristen isn't a good actress, there's likely tons of up and coming actresses who deserve the spot more than her....
no Twilight rage here, just let's get rid of the incompetence and move on FFS let someone else have a chance.....that's all
She did good, she was the opposite of Sandra Bullock in Gravity, she never took away from the role or took me out of the movie.
@@avengercannon I never saw gravity cus it was pointless and George Clooney can't act his way out of a wet paper bag.....
Interstellar and The Martian were way way better lolz
even in Twilight though Stewart was kinda ditzy.....personally I thought Ashley Greene was way better in twilight....I'd so much rather see more of her lolz
Red Lantern's Rage Clooney can’t act his way out of a wet paper bag? Are you being willfully outrageous? Clooney may not be in the range of Marlon Brando or John Wayne, but he is easily one of the best lead actors of the past generation. You have to be intentionally blind and ignorant to say otherwise.
The review is not actually underwater? Disappointed.
You guys should do a throwback Thursday like once a month or so, reviewing movies that aren’t new. Just random titles atleast a decade old. Idk about anyone else, but I’d enjoy that. Maybe personal favorites of you guys’, that aren’t exactly mainstream.
Nathan3507 maybe they could review The Descent 2009 I think.
Hkdarthcadeus idk anything about that movie. But that’s another thing, we could also make suggestions and possibly vote on movies for them to do! Or maybe even games as well. I think it would be a great way to get the angry army involved more! They can make polls on the channel that we could vote on. I would thoroughly enjoy a throwback Thursday. It would give us an opportunity to share hidden gems we each love. Like for me, the movie the invisible, or Orange County, etc. I have a million I could think of
Hey Joe, go check out Deepstar Six, classic great/bad movie, came out around the same time as The Abyss and Leviathan
Some Mistakes I’d throw Deep Rising in there too
Patrick D another classic but I wanted to keep it to a primarily underwater film...tbh I fancy watching them all right now...love a bad movie night lol
The Rift
This movie is like Deep Star Six v Leviathan v Aliens. I'll agree that there were some mis-steps but I thought you guys were a little hard on the movie. I'd have given it a 6 or 7, since I didn't mind the decision that everything be super dark for a much longer portion of the movie. I also remembered the plan and never got confused as to where the characters were, so there's that.
I actually thought it was decent like 6 out of 10 - 8 being people’s usual 10/10. I also think Kirsten Stewart did a great job, and the captain did good
I give it 3 ⭐⭐⭐
3/10
I love how the reviewed paused when joe thought alex let a spoiler out early 😂😂
Don't you touch my Warhammer and Starcraft :(
They will frik it up !
I don't think anyone wants to
Karol Doerfer I think you meant fuck
@SharkTank HEY!!!! THIS IS A CHRISTIAN COMMENT SECTION....no cursing gosh dangit.
I hope you guys will consider reviewing "1917" sometime over the next week or so. I've been looking forward to that one.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease, huh? Thanks guys!
I love you AngryJoeShow :)
Sounds like they didn't learn jack from the "too dark" debacle of The Long Night. Rendering the audience nightblind to increase the sense of claustrophobia doesn't even sound like a good idea on paper.
Also the captain was in the cult of Cthulhu that's why he had the maps in the locker w/ a pic of Cthulhu underneath it. That's why he couldn't remember his daughters age, he was already losing his mind to the cult. His only goal was to see the old one from the cosmos, God of madness.
When it comes to horror movies, I can't trust Joe.
He said Lodge was worst of 2020, I can't ever take his opinion seriously.
Yeah this movie was really good.
It's more a thriller than pure horror.
@@maskedvalerian1095 that movie was garbage
The trailer kinda reminded me of the game SOMA, which would honestly make a great movie if one was based on it.
The Meg also started with people drilling deep in the ocean 🦈
Sebastian Molina they weren’t ever drilling, they believed the “bottom of the ocean” wasn’t really the bottom but a thick layer of gas of some sort and they just just rode their submarines passed that layer and yeah
@@misterstun1887 exactly there was all kinds of speculation about large animals living in the marianas trench but the movie took too many liberties from the book smh.
Love the shirt, how long is it available?
During the end she kept kind of looking back at the defective pod. I thought she was going to get in it and maybe the energy of the explosion would propel it upwards a bit before stalling out with her in it. I was also hoping the newspaper article would allude to some type of cloverfield reference.
Me too. That was my thought. Maybe they'll bitchslap us with that she did in a sequel if there was one.

True
am i the only one who noticed this 14:00 , just look at alex and oj's face i think it really shows you how good of a bond they have and this doesn't look that good...
I’m pretty sure you’re wrong about the editing error w TJ Miller’s bunny. He got the bunny back and talked to it before he went under the concrete that was blocking their way, and then as he was being dragged and pulled by the monster, he handed the bunny off to someone, I think Kristen Stewart.
300 people on board my ass. We saw one corpse and empty hallways.
Well, I've ordered myself one of those Yodalorian shirts. So cool....
I'll have to go see this movie Tomorrow, it sounds like it's right up my alley.
"I Sea"
Angryjoe
I know what you did there 5:55!
I think I like it more the more I think about it. They put so much foreshadowing in this movie to make the case that none of the supernatural bits were real, and if you think about it from THAT perspective, some of the "plot holes" with the monsters not doing things as expected makes a lot more sense. I think it does garner watching at least twice, but I am going to wait until it hits DVD or streaming for the second viewing.
For me I fucking loved this film. It was everything I thought it was gonna be and more. I love underwater sci-fi/horror films and this movie didn't disappoint me. Thought not as good as The Abyss and Deep Blue Sea this comes in a distant second.
The Abyss was corny as fuck dude
I loved this movie. I thought the monsters were awesome. And I loved the ending.
Having had the misfortune of seeing this twice, the bunny error that Alex points out is definitely not present but I can see why he gets confused. TJ gives the bunny after getting to the other side and just before he gets ripped out of the suit.
They went to the Dan & Dave GOT cant see wtf is going on school of cinematic photography.
The movie was like the game narcosis. Very similiar.

T.J. Miller actually hands-off the bunny while they're putting on his helmet in his [spoilers] scene. If you pay close attention, so he does get it back & hands it off again. When he's doin' the whole, "It's pulling me Underwater!" trailer scene.
I love how you cut alex off when he's right about something that you don't agree with lol
Man, those dagger eyes on Joe when he called out Alex for quasi spoiling the movie LOL.
I know where this hate on kirsten steward is coming from. But c'moon guys, in this movie she was a total badass !!
Just think for a second: All this but in a SpaceHulk with Geanstealers. Holy moly! That would have been amazing and you don’t even need Space Marines just auxiliary with power armor for void combat. I need THAT!
No matter what the reviews say I'm still gonna go watch it. I love movies like this.
It was pretty good imo
It's worth it, mediocre reviews helped me not set my expectations high.
Aw man, you said Kristen Stewart, I already knew the movie is way worse than I expected...
She's actually pretty good in this movie. Surprisingly.
@@apotheases She still can't make more than 4 facial expressions at best
Better Claustraphobic/Mostly Sci-fi Slashers:
Alien, Leviathan, Thing, Sphere, Abyss, Life (2017), Event Horizon, Cloverfield, The Descent, As Above So Below, A Quiet Place, Annihilation.
The monster designs until the last 10 minutes are too generic to care, there was no story (could have discussed the Mariana Drench or whatever), plus the characters very bland with no backstory for icing on the cake. Even the Megalodon movie was better.
Where can I buy other joe bath water
you guys are amazing and always keep it entertaining.
I literally just seen the trailer for the 1st time. Came straight here to see what Papa Joe had to say about it.
Same.
Coming from Chris stuckmann's video, he said that since 20th century was acquired by Disney this was them dumping this project that was shot in 2017. I'm guessing that since they drop the ball at the end, they rushed it out to just be rid of it. It could have potentially been better when Disney acquired cause clearly fox wasn't happy with it, but they didn't want it either which is unfortunate
its from ghettoblaster aka dont be a menace to sociaty while drinking your juice in the hood. funniest 90s wayans brothers movie.

Movie reviews to be a consistent thing from now on
im not sure but i think there wasnt a biologist in alien. they were miners coming back home and there might be a doctor but doctors are biologists are not the same. i might be wrong, correct me please *:D
You're half-wrong. :-) They're not miners, they're basically truckers. And their "doctor" is SPOILER on that ship specifically to study what is found on the alien planet but the movie doesn't spell that out, movies back then tried to let audiences connect the dots.
no OJ bathwater reference, missed an opportunity there : P
This movie was shot back in 2017 and has been on the shelf since then so you know the studio didnt have much fairh in it.
Wrong that's when Disney purchased fox so they couldn't release it. The director confirmed they only released it cause Disney and Christopher Nolan enjoyed it.
