The AI accelerator performance numbers are very opaque. 40 TOPS means nothing without more context. Is it 40 TOPS of 32 bit floating point matrix multiplication? 16 bit floating point? 8 bit integer? Is it strictly for sparse matrix multiplication? A top of the line NVIDIA chip will have TOPS numbers that range wildly across all of these, because they are wildly different tasks. And TOPS are not all that matter, memory bandwidth is often the bottleneck. And even then, great hardware is useless if the software stack that allows compiling models for it is of poor quality.
As someone who manages mobile devices for three hospitals, please do start an MDM podcast from the verge :)

The core of all this is that we have a User Interface problem. Apple won’t address this next week. Apple has been busy occupying itself with buzzwords. AR, Driverless Cars, Robots, now AI.

41:00 - I’m surprised Nilay being a lawyer didn’t object to this, but Apple can’t just offer to read your book out loud to you. Publishers PAY authors for the rights to produce and sell an audio version of a title. Siri reading random internet text and user interface elements? Sure, I guess. But copyrighted and published works just because it theoretically can? Not without getting sued. A company that just announced a partnership to become the audio home of a big national book club that works with all the big publishers would know that.

My streaming service behavior is the opposite of what David describes. I keep two services at a time, one of which is ALWAYS CZcams Premium. My other slot rotates between all the other streamers. But I will add that I've avoided Max since they took the best streamer and turned it into the worst one. Screw Max.
I love this podcast so much I just wish Patel would leave his politics out of it. We don’t need your opinions on politicians we are here to talk about tech products.
