The legacy this is so important as a African man this makes me so proud Yasuke is awesome
You're from Africa or you descended from Africa? Big difference
@@VaeVictus17 Both I was born in the UK but I come from Ghana
@@VaeVictus17 yeah were not the same black americans didnt come from Africa we were already here
@@Jah_AP that's why I made the distinction
If Chadwick were still alive we all would have seen him as yasuke in theaters
I believe that black man from the gorilla/ape tribe will suits better.
@@rebecacarandiru1634 is that an actual tribe
@@rebecacarandiru1634 you mean m'baku from the jabari tribe
I mean Idris Elba could maybe pull it off too. The requirements for the role are tall, black, and muscular and there are a lot of people that could fit the role. Now whether they can pull off the role with grace or whether a scriptwriter can make a good screenplay adapting the story of Yasuke is another hurdle entirely. Modern Hollywood is trash.
@@jacksonortez8558 I agree with u about Chadwick. He was 6ft tall and Yasuke was 1.90m/6f.3in tall. That's the same height as both Tom Welling and my uncle. They would have to say on screen he was or digitize him for 3ins more.
Yasuke is literally the most badass black man in history. His skill was remarkable and I hope his legend remains to live on for every generation to know. Long live Yasuke!✊🏽🇯🇵
There’s a realistic statue of Yasuke in a museum in South Africa.
I remember Yasuke was exiled by Akechi after Oda Nobunaga's death considering him not as a person but as an animal... Oda Nobunaga even with his brutality and his horror tactics, considered Yasuke as a friend.
Yasuke seemed like a nice guy
I have heard about Yasuke. I hope someday an archaeologist stumbles upon some surviving record as to what happened to him. For all we know he might have living descendents in Afrika today.
It seems he was sent back to missionaries
Nothing supports this hypothesis.
OMG YEAH
@@UpYaGet That much is obvious. What i want to know is then what? Did they take him back to Portugal? Was he ever set free? Did he start a family? Did he ever return to his home country? Stuff like that.
@@mikloscsuvar6097 That is why i said "might." I just want to know what ultimately happened to him that is all.
Afro Samurai was inspired by Yasuke, the African Samurai.
Samurai Champloo also has inspiration from Yasuke for the main character.
The man who inspired the Lone Ranger was actually the 1st African American to hold the job of Sheriff. IT'S TRUE!!!! So our African Samurai is not alone.

There is a manga on Netflix about Yasuke
🌟🌟😲🌟🌟 to this Day I still Can't believe a brother become a samurai It's So incredible
I was hugely influenced by Japanese culture growing up. Naturally I came across Yasuke and it always made me feel validated.
I love the video! I hope you do more videos of the Sengoku Era and the famous Samurai Warriors
Years ago, when i went to japan...the ppl i stayed with rubbed my skin, wondering if i was too dirty, or if i was painted over... one old lady, even put our wrists side to side, just to look and see....
I personally found it amusing, instead of racist...because it made me realize that most of them have likely never seen someone of my skin tone before, like...ever...
Makes sense too, seeing as in japan, i counted about at most...15 or less ppl of my skin tone(3 of whom included me and the ppl i went on a trip with)
I remember watching an anime about Yasuke I did not know he actually existed while this was awesome great job
This brings in a good question if Oda had not been betrayed 🤔 then would we see more foreigners possibly becoming Samurai and maybe a more advanced Japan?
It could be possible but we may never know
Nobunaga didn't like the "old ways" so it was probably very likely, even during the samurai rebellions during the creation of imperial japan they had foreigners on their side lol
Your video is great! I hope you will make more foreign samurai, such as William Adams (Japanese name is 三浦按針(Anjin Miura)).
(Sorry for my incompetent Japanese-Engish.)
The historical character that inspired John Blackthorne from "Shogun".
They should make a movie about him in the big screen.
I think they were until Chadwick Boseman died.
@@veronicageorge3825 Another negrid aspirant for the role can be found.
@@mikloscsuvar6097 it wouldn't be the same
@@theliedetector2199 Yes, it could be better or worse. No one is irreplacable.
man history is so incredible man u just have these things u never knew
Even if I feel glad that he wasn't forced to commit seppuku, it is incredibly saddening the he had to help in his friend's execution, couldn't protect his lord's son, and instead was just exiled, not considered worth their rituals.
There should b a movie about him.
Wow. That was great became a samurai warrior. Which reminds me like Afro Samurai made by Yasuke. Great story of the African Samurai. I just love that show like Samurai Jack.
In the end I like it shows not him being brought to the church in chains but going willingly and the priest welcoming him with open arms, he was given his freedom by oda perhaps he just stayed at the church for the rest of life
Great video!!!
Im vibing at ya background music
Good video 👊🏻
Great story, please do a video about the white samurai. I don't know if Yasuku died Christian?
Cool
When are you going to make the story of the Great Unifiers of Japan just like you made Yasuke - The Story of the African Samurai?
As an African, I love this story. Yasuke 🤗
this was very interesting.
Woah
Excellent episode honestly! 😉 Could you make a video about the REAL Last Samurai? Who, unlike the film with Tom Cruise, was not an American but a Frenchman; a certain Jules Brunet.
Pls name of the music tone at the end of the video pls? Nice video anyways 🥰🥰🥰🥰
sugoiii!
Great knowing the inspiration behind Afro Samurai ☺️
Interesting African samurai. This will be fun
I still can't believe there isn't a movie about this yet. I know there is a cartoon on Netflix about it but a live action would be dope. Micheal b Jordan am looking at U dude.
He is a boss in Onimusha.
Wow, I didn't now there was a history of and African name " Yasuke" who became a samurai in Japan before?
I was telling my friend about yusuke yesterday now this vid appears xD
This would be the perfect plot for a Japanese assassins creed game
Indeed
No, woke don't sell, that's what they'd try to do with it.
@@VaeVictus17 It Will be cool if theres an honor or BAD honor ending like Rdr
@@Reinlert okay that's not what I'm arguing. What I'm arguing is that they're gonna put narratives in the game that ruin the story.
Ladies and gentlemen
THIS IS YOUR CERTIFIED AFROOOOOO SAMURAI!!!!!!!!
Would they want to make a movie about him od so how would the adience respond
and the balck respect see u in history
Afro samurai was a great story.
The courage his enemies must have had to face such strong and mighty gigantic warrior...
I see my husband in Yasuke two warrior traditions in him my husband is Zulu his father’s heritage
and mother who grew up with my mother is Japanese and my husband is an ex-soldier.
My husband’s name given to him by his grandfather is Kyoshiro
This would make an epic Tarantino movie.
Yasuke was invincible because he always had armor haki on.
Afro Samurai
This is how coryxkenshin was born
can he beat goku tho
BANZAI!!!
BANZAI!!!
The original Afro Samurai.
Unfortunately yasuke's story is romanticised revisionist history... as far as the records show yasuke was never granted the title of samurai but was in service to nobunaga as a sword bearer and there is absolutely no record of yasuke taking part in any battles. Fun story but mostly fiction as far as I have read
Some of my reading indicates that he would have seen combat during the Honno-ji Incident but probably served in a more administrative/advisory capacity otherwise. Either way, it's a pretty amazing life.
@@MrReverseOreo the real story is incredible in it's own right which makes the fact that the fictional version being the commonly known "truth" more disappointing
@@UpYaGet Nah. He was overhyped garbage who couldn't even die honorably - he surrendered his sword and ran away tail tucked between his legs to the Jesuits. But that's just the way of this world... We honor those who don't deserve such honor and forget about the true Heroes, the true Warriors, those who actually formed superior civilizations and lived lives worth retelling.. But we don't retell their stories. We fall for the lies of others.
So he's the Black Panther of Samurai Universe and he was respected by the Majority of the land who never heard of Africans
Yo
Speaking of foreigners in Japan, although not as an exciting story as Yasuke's, there is also Lafcadio Hearn. The so called national poet of Japan.
Which one day he will return to fight again along side with the gods of smite battle ground of the gods
So now an obscure history will be MCU's next Wakanda with a samurai sword 🤪
CoryxKenshin????
Why pronouncing Yas-ke
It's Ya-Su-Ke
The literal BBC warrior
The fact that the Japanese people knew about a African Samurai and not only kept this as a secret for years but they called their Mobsters after the name of the first African Samurai “Yasuke” and what really pisses me off is that you Anime lovers choose to ignore these heavy facts because you like Anime, Japanese samurai movies, and Japanese girls more than the respect of your own Ancestory lost history
Whites be like : 👁️👄👁️
The only african samurai there is is the ankle breaking shogun from the mid west, Cory freaking Kenshin
So this is the first anti racist emperor's for all history?????
BBC Genetics
But he was not a samurai, no records shows that he was a samurai but a sword carrier
