The black pirate samurai? How the hell isn't that a movie.
It sucks that Yasuke’s history wasn’t so well documented.
There is supposed to be a movie in the works staring Chadwick Boseman as the Black Samurai.
It’s interesting learning the origins of a boss character from game Nioh.
"Speaking of badass things, SQUARESPACE!
I agree with the idea of Yosuke becoming a pirate, and being called The Black Pirate would have been awesome.
Hit that like button if you’d like to see a movie of this Samurai
A mainstream channel actually did a vid on Yasuke?! Wow, never thought this'd happen. Good job @Today I Found Out YT .
"he looked about 26, 24, or 25 ... or 27" ... Were numbers not in order back then?
A black samurai pirate. A ninja’s worst nightmare.
Interesting video. Black gladiators were known in ancient Rome and 1300 years later, the conquistadors were accompanied by black persons in several capacities. The Maya, Aztec, and Inca were also quite curious about the black persons affiliated with the conquistadors. Shortly thereafter, the horrors of slavery began and the insane race nomenclature and racism seen particularly in South America began.
I need a square space page.
Fascinating history about the Black Samurai!! Absolutely amazing! I didn't know. Thanks Simon!
Quick note: in Japanese it’s common to emphasize the first syllable in words, rather than the second. Also, the “su” part of “Yosuke” is not meant to be so much spoken as hissed - so the correct way to pronounce it would be “Yo’s-ke”
I'm STILL loving your presentations. Thank you
I really enjoy all of your channels. Thank you for making them so interesting
I'd love to hear you talk about the legend of the 47 ronin
He's one of the boss fights in Nioh.
No one's talking about Afro Samurai. smh
