The fact that we live in a universe where poppy playtime gets a movie and not Plants vs Zombies says something about the movie industry
We live in a society where everyday we face the industrial revolution and its consequences.
What makes me even more mad is that the higher-ups at Mob Games (Poppy playtime devs) are absolute A-holes to some of their ex-members.

One Disney movie that I wish hadn’t been canceled is “shade makers”. It was going to be a stop-motion film directed by the same guy who directed “Coraline”. I think the plot was about a boy who could manipulate shadows with his fingers or something like that. There is sneak-peak picture that shows him playing with the shadow of a young woman. The movie was like 2-4 years into production but it got canceled because of financial reasons. Really a pity

You forgot the best part of why Wild Life was cancelled. Roy Disney was watching a screening of the movie and got very offended by it (especially a joke about two gay men entering a sewer and then one of them says "have you ever been down a manhole before?"). He then ended the films production.

Fun Fact: the reason why Me and My Shadow was cancelled was because in 2014 DreamWorks's 2 movies called Mr. Peabody & Sherman and Penguins of Madagascar where both release and flop at the box office.

That’s why people need to take a bigger look at the picture when it comes to a canceled idea. It’s not like one day they’re just like “let’s just toss this in the trash”, but rather it’s most likely due to a failure of another movie.
The thing that's sad about this is that sometimes companies have no idea what they're doing and start cancelling movies left and right, and then all of the movies that do get released are all trash.

About me and my Shadow -
it was such a good concept. Hearing that it was half-finished means that they could at least put a piece of the film in front of their full length. Then at least some of the work would still be seen.
Yes! Totally! I loved that concept. It sounds like a super funny and fun movie! I'm super sad it got scrapped.

I remember the first time they announced Me and My Shadow movie. I was a big fan of Owl City and I was very active with Owl City fans community online where I first heard about this movie. I was excited and hyped because my favorite band Owl City is the one who made all of the soundtracks, the IMDB list already exist. Every weeks and months I checked on the community and google search any information about the movie, any screenshot (7:30 and 7:35 was the two that I can found back then), or maybe a trailer. Until the expected release date getting closer and closer but still no new information appear about the movie. Maybe it got delayed, maybe it will be released a few months later. Few years past, and it just cancelled.
tbh as an Australian, it kinda upsets me that larrikins was canceled because there are barely any movies out there that are set in Australia (i know their rescuers from down under but it was kinda bad ngl) and bilby's are an amazing animal and should get some more appreciation (especially that they are endangered)
I wish we got Larrikins so bad still. Hoping one day Larrikins and Me and My Shadow gets their voice acting/storyboards leaked like Popeye did 🙏🏼
Well, we got this animated kids show Called “Bluey”, it’s actually pretty good
I think the worst scrapped movie is called The Shadow King. It was a stop motion animation that Disney originally greenlit and was written by Henry Selick. It was about a little boy who had a deformity in his fingers, which caused him to hide them in his jumper. He would then learn to use his hands to make elaborate shadow puppets, and then has to go up against an evil shadow villain. There was fully animated scenes completed (you can find some of them on CZcams) and $50,000,000 dollars put into the project before Disney backed out of the deal.
The good thing is that Henry Selick still has not given up on this movie, and still has all the rights to pitch and produce this movie at some point. No one has picked it up yet but fingers crossed we see the full movie someday, even though it’s been almost ten years since it’s cancellation.
Edit: so Henry Sellick has announced that if Wendell and Wild was a success, he will revive the shadow king…we haven’t heard anything on whether he thought it was a success or not, but hopefully we get an update in the next few years :).
I like hearing about scrapped movies. Would be cool if companies had an area where they showed more concept work for the movies :D

Not really. It would be an issue for copyright and other film companies (not looking at china) could just scoop up their ideas and make the film themselves.

What was even cooler about Me and My Shadow was the blend of 2D/3D animation.
The Spider Verse before Spider Verse
I really liked the idea of gigantic. It sounded fresh and a good take on an old fairytale, and I liked the idea of the giant and the adventurer bonding, especially with the fact the giant would be a young girl, and the adventurer would be or atleast look like an adult. Most movies with a child and an adult bonding, it’s just a normal “mother/father bonding or understanding a kid that they have known their whole life” But the idea of the plot sounding so unique and charming, I just don’t get why they canceled it :,(
Don't forget, Netflix cancelled a lot of good shows too. Like Season 2 of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, and the idea of a comic becoming a series called Bone. Not to mention, Legendary Don Bluth planned to make and show a 2D animated movie of Dragon's Lair, but they cancelled it and planned to have it be live action instead, and starring the man who played Deadpool being Dirk. What is this world coming to?

Gigantic could have just been a Tangled retelling.
Jack explores the sky for treasure, adventure, and to save his farm.
Inma(The lady giant who finds Jack) treats him like a toy at first but learns to respect him as she tells them about the giant culture.
Storm giants( the original villains of the film) terrorize the humans and giants alike as Jack and Inma find ways to get rid of them for good.
And the movie can end with Jack chopping down the beanstalk and having the final villain fall to his death just like the lady villian from tangled.
But then never seeing Inma again, you know, for the waterworks
…man, this movie could have been great…

The plot you described for “Gigantic”, with a giant keeping a human as a pet, that sounds eerily like the French film Fantastic Planet.
There should be a company that buys the failed movie projects rights and turn them into really good movies.

Larrikins is probably the one that hurts me the most, the snippets we got look so good
I've actually never watched the snippets from that 3D animated Popeye movie but I have heard about it and seen brief clips shown in reviews by other CZcamsrs that talked about other movies and referenced it and wow I actually am quite shocked that Popeye movie was never released. the animations looked incredible and knowing that it's being attempted to be made again but this time by dreamworks which don't get me wrong I think DreamWorks is incredible, it's just the animation style that Sony has probably would work better with those characters.
I really hope they make him how he’s supposed to be pipe and all, I love the early one, but kinda disappointed they took a lot of his trademarks away because of the sensitive people and Karen’s today.

The thing that perplexes me about Gigantic's production is just how secretive they were and still kind of are about it despite being so gung-ho at first (there was even a planned EPCOT Spain pavillion that was meant to be Gigantic-themed). I believe there's only about five or so pictures from its production history that have been officially released, and the majority of them are just the opening with Jack leaving for the city. Feel like something screwy's going on honestly...

Goddamnit, we could've had Nate, Patrice and CRAAAAAZY DAVE on the big screen, but it gets tossed out in favor of Trolls 2. This is why fanmade movies like Return to Zootopia are better than the actual movies, cause they aren't influenced by the big corporations having to judge it's worth.

It kind of sucks when I hear about certain movies being canceled, especially one of this because the original failed and it had a canceled sequel. But I definitely know that it is hard to write stories. There are many times I have spent many months struggling to make stories. It’s definitely not easy at points. But it’s still sad to see stories that could’ve been great be cancelled
I was so disappointed when they cancelled Gigantic. I thought it sounded really promising.
I think i know a good storyline for Gigantic.The storyline could be about how a young boy lived in a village where people were scared of giants and the villagers thought that the little boy was very wimpy so to prove the villagers wrong the little boy decided to kill a giant.The little boy then grew a beanstalk and climbed on it but was captured by a Giant girl and during his stay in the giant land the little boy realized that giants are not that bad and somehow has to convince the villagers to have a friendship with giants.
So sad that the pvz movie never happened. Those redesigns of the plants look so cool!

I remember reading in a gaming magazine that a Fruit Ninja movie was in the works after the success of The Angry Birds Movie (one of my favourite movies ever, I hate the sequel though) but that was either a joke or someone was crazy enough to think that a Fruit Ninja movie was a great idea.
I did some research and found two cancelled ones that you could mention in the sequel:
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 3
there aren’t many plot details but it would’ve possibly focused on the events after the second movie where the inhabitants of Shallow Falls begin their new lives with food.
It was cancelled because Sony straight up gave up the rights after the failure of the 2017 animated series and they were more interested in the Hotel Transylvania and Spider-Man: Spider-Verse franchises.
Lego Superfriends was a planned sequel to The Lego Batman Movie that would have been an installment in The Lego Movie franchise, with Chris McKay returning to direct the film and the script being written by Michael Waldron and Dan Harmon. The film was set for a release this year.
According to director Chris McKay, the sequel would have focused on Batman's relationship with the Justice League, particularly Superman, and the main villains would have been Lex Luthor and OMAC. It was set to be based on the 1973-1985 DC Comics-based animated series Super Friends, as well as loosely based on the 1997 film Boogie Nights.
It was cancelled because Universal Pictures acquired the film rights with Lego in April 2020, which means that all LEGO-fied WB characters, including those from DC Comics, are no longer available as part of Universal's Lego Movie franchise, leading to the sequel's cancellation.

About Circle 7 [Pixarnt] It was made because Pixar didn’t want to sign another contract to continue with Disney. But Disney still owned The Pixar Movies so they made a studio to make sequels to Pixar Movies like: Toy Story 3 [The bad version], Monster inc 2 and Finding Nemo 2. But at the end Pixar signed a contract to be owned by Disney so they will close Circle 7.

At least My Father's Dragon is coming out in a few weeks. It was supposed to come out last year but got pushed back to November 11th of this year.
Me hearing that “Me and my shadow” was getting canceled was literally traumatizing. I’m not kidding, I was SO HIPED for that movie and finding out it got CANCELED!?!?! Ooh, just kill me now.
In Laura Shigihara's (the PvZ1 composer) PvZ 13th Birthday stream she read a chat comment about the movie idea and she shared how she, George Fan, and Rich Werner went to like a studio of DreamWorks and made our concepts and plannings and stuff for like a day or 2 (or more) but then did also say it never really went through and she has no idea what happened to it.

The Popeye looked creepy, I saw the trailer and the art style looked very weird. Yeah, it looks kinda well made (the CGI was pretty good) but it was strange.
Had no idea about Monsters Inc 2. Loved the original and Monsters University dearly though :))

King Features actually but yeah I personally to co-produced and co-distributed with Warner Bros. and Paramount for Popeye animated movie since Warner under Turner currently owns the 1933 to 1957 Popeye cartoons, which was originally released by Paramount.

If this movie went full through and Gutierrez did make this movie, I would absolutely see it cause I don’t know anyone else but Book of Life is extremely underrated (well in my opinion) since it’s overshadowed with Coco and hell, I bet a Lego movie by the Book of life creator sounds amazing

I'd loved to see a follow up video, cover some films by studios like Laika, Aardman or even Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.
The bilby movie being canceled still saddens me...bilbies are such cool, underrated animals and this movie could've made them more known.
Spongebob movie being to dark? Now i really wonder what the plot was 🤔
The plot is known, its silly but it has some dark things. The story was basically a race of space cats with an religion for snails or something, and they kidnapp gary to sacrifice him or something like that. So Spongebob and his friends would travel to the human world again and travel to space too. And the end, spongebob and gary would sacrifice themselves to attracts the cats to an black hole, remembering everything they have lived. But they would have been resurected by bubbles (the space dolphin of the 2)
Fun Fact: Pete Doctor also got the idea of inside out from his daughter and the defunct Epcot ride “Cranium Command” where you pilot a 13 year old boy trying to get through the first day of school
