"You, hero, are the soul of conflict."
What if he's not talking to the player character, but the player directly? Maybe the Soul of Conflict is who we play as in every Elder Scrolls game. We, as the Soul of Conflict, posses and empower a person so they can do greater things than normal. And once we see there is no more capability for conflict in their life we leave them to go do other things.
It's just a thought, but if anyone wants to take this further feel free to.

The accounts of Sea Giants combined with the story of Atmorans, being the ancestors of Nords, is interesting. Atmorans were said to be as large as the dumb Giants found in Skyrim today, except they showed typical human sentience. It could simply be possible that Sea Giants are another branch of Atmorans, just as Skyrim Giants are as well. Coming only during the coldest winters would also agree with this theory, since perhaps their skin is the colour of frostbite BECAUSE they're constantly frostbitten, but in a way that doesn't hurt them and actually makes their skin a shield of some sorts.
Honestly this seems like a good headcanon for them.

    • @Herrtzi

with the mock turtle Scute it is possible that it is the mock turtle you meet in the game as some species of turtles shed parts of their shells in growth, a scute is what they call the many fragments that make up the shell. so its not unlikely that the turtle made its way down there somehow and just grew too large to get out.

Sarpas, the winged argonians that live in the deepest parts of Black Marsh, are my favorites. They're only ever vaguely mentioned as attackers that wielded destruction magic to free their fellow argonians from South Morrowind. Unfortunately they did kill a few members of Twin Lamp in their rage and so they are widely hated by even the anti-slaver dunmer. All argonians are reptiles and each of them are based on reptiles (except Paatrus which are frogs) of our own world; Saxheels are lizards, Archeins are crocodiles, Nagas are Snakes, and Sarpas are dragons. I think a Sarpa dragonborn (although not lore-friendly since Argonians don't worship the Gods) would have been a really cool idea. Plus we'd be able to fly without buckets.

Ah yes, I've heard of this special breed of troll. They are fond of basements with a family living above, especially if there is a mother in the vicinity. There are many reasons why they choose to inhabit one basement for so long, the main reasons being their eyes have become too sensitive to natural light, and their skin burns easily in the sun. Also, "REEE-ing" for soup constantly at the family means the Beardling does not have to go out at night to forage. The only known way to get rid of them is to trick and lure them out of your dwelling with mini pizza pockets, and hope they find a female Beardling immediately.
