- Rangers regained top place in the league as Brian Laudrup scored the only goal in an action packed game. Laudrup scored early after a mistake from Brian o'Neill and in the second half both Paul Gascoigne and Pierre van Hoijdoonk missed penaties while Peter van Vossen had an incredible open-goal miss. There was also an apperance from the original 'Fox in the Box'.

Remember watching this in England. Was a darts match on. Just me and the missus. Had to ask nicely for game to be put on. By the time Pierre fluffed his lines no-one was playing darts. Never seen a game like it. Amazing!
Looked for this just for the fox then got drawn in. What a fantastic game of football. Remember watching these old firms in the 90s as a kid in England - real sense of occasion, Tyler and Gray, world stars like Gazza and Laudrup and the two sides at the top of their game

Remember listening to this on the radio as a nipper and it sounded amazing.
Saw it on video the next day. We were under the cosh so much. Goram was immense. The penalty save is very good too.
Don't make them like that anymore.

oh what old firm games we had back then, two briliant teams giving it everything, not the imposters we have now, if big pierre had scored that penalty, history could have been alot better, thanks for posting

Could the most nerve wracking OF games i've ever seen. The stakes were so high. The closest we've been to a match like it recently was the one back in May.
I'll never forget that game, it had everything, who'd have thought that, even now, bad misses would still be referred to as a van vossen lol WATP

I was there in May& the atmosphere was amazing it was sooo tense, if wed lost wed be years behind them in revenue but we didnt :) Still havnt spent any money tho
My mate asked me to video record this for him and his dad to watch - he avoided the score and asked if it was worth watching when he collected the tape - I assured him that it was. Peter van Vossen had an even worse miss against us in a friendly at Cappielow later that year.

@jambhoy87 In those days both teams would have finished very near the top of the English Premier League, possibly winning it, who knows? The current teams would both be relegation candidates if they were playing in England.
RIP - the late great Tommy Burns, as a hun on old firms days they'd all get pelters but after the 90 mins there were some tims you couldn't help but like

I'm of the opinion just about everything goes in the 90 mins inside the stadium but you leave that there, it's called banter. I believe most fans on both side are the same - but there's always idiots on both side that don't agree, ridiculous
