Jennie's MET Gala outfits were criminally underwhelming both times. The MET Gala is not the frickin' MTV Video Music Awards. She was so underdressed both times, but at least last year she didn't completely ignore the theme.

My think is Jennie looked cute but she played it so safe. I’ve seen her fans say “well it blue and it’s suppose to represent the sea”. They took a blue fabric and wrapped it around her, then added some loops or whatever to represent waves. So basic and so boring.

    • @belaytriks
      @belaytriks Před měsícem +12

It is basic, it looked unfinished and was out of the night theme (that is not a requirement to follow), lacked the touch to make it grand gala (the tail tried but missed by a lot) the makeup is gorgeous but bland (a little of drama would be appreciated). She looked great, she seems more comfortable and could move (some could not even do that in their dresses) and if we consider more men than not go in suits my only complain is the skirt and the lack of statement piece on her outfit.

Sure Jennie gave a nod to the "Sea" part but the exhibit's theme refers to fragile old pieces being reintroduce to the public. The Gala's theme/dress code however is The Garden of Time from J.G Ballard's story

    1. EXACTLY.
    2. Plus, None of them have even been here that long nor have done anything to be considered It-Girls 😭 (Hype GG shade LMAO.)
    3. Fr, It's disgusting how fans are trying to drag the idols over shit that they can't even control??? And the way that Hype stans are also trying to push every bad thing that hype has ever done (Garam, Cough.) onto Min-hee just to excuse the companies, Fans, And the idols behavior is so???? Like you're bringing even more hate onto your favs, Stop 🙄
    4. She's the best dancer and she needs more praise for it! And can Yeji stans stfu? Always comparing her to Yeji and calling her a better dancer when she's just a better performer. Also, I can see why they don't push her as much since dancing is not as praised nearly as much as Stage presence. (The fact that some people even believe that Yuna and Ryujin are better dancers, tells you everything you need to know...)
    5. Oh, I agree so much. it's mainly the fans that make K-pop look so bad... The amount of people that have admitted to not liking kpop because they think it's full of crazy people that worship the ground that idols walk on is damaging but understandable considering how Fandoms behave. That, and The fact that Armys/Blinks are the face of kpop scares the ever loving crap out of me.
    6. Tbh, I hate the outfit. It looks like they didn't even try... I did like the rose that she carried but I heard that she didn't even bring it with her. It would have been such a slay...
    7. Personally, I hope she doesn't. A few high notes wouldn't hurt but I love Yujins high notes way more than hers and I'm OBSESSED with her low notes. Liz and Wonyoung's low notes give me life... (And that's why My Satisfaction will forever remain that bitch.)
    8. IMAGINE IF NMIXX SANG HEYA? Like Heya is SO Nmixx coded nweifnwefwirfejdxgk
    9. As both a Dive and Moa, I can't tell you how much this annoys me. Stans need to stfu because it's pointless as sht to drag and compare idols vocials... Plus it's so obvious they don't know what they're talking about. They'll listen to someone sounding like a microwave and call it live.
    10. YES!! Omg... I get called a pedo for being 22 and liking kpop. This is so disgusting. They like to act like older stans are more of a threat than younger stans. The fact that it's always little children that are doxxing and bullying idols on the internet yet WE'RE the bad guys??? Make it make sense.

    5. I agree, especially with 'The crazy K-pop fan' stereotype, it's why a lot of people I know personally, doesn't get into K-pop. K-pop is a genre, but with how a lot K-pop stans act and gatekeep it, non-stans quickly use interest and mock both the stans and the music. I listened to ATEEZ with my older brother and he was loving it, he usually only indulges in Rap, HipHop and Rock. But allowing him to not get attacked for not liking a song, and letting listen to more than one he enjoyed it. A lot of K-pop fans are the downfall of the reputation of K-pop. Two huge fandoms in particular!

Im sorry but your point with Liz was lowkey kind of selfish? She got most of the lines in their new song and got a lot of screen time. If they gave her the high note as well it would seem kind of unfair wouldn't it? And it's not like they're wasting her potential as a vocalist when they have her singing her "bite" part and her "far away" note in I am. Yujin has more sharpness in her tone while liz has a more gentle and soft tone in her singing and honestly I can see why they picked yujin to have the high note in the song since her sharp tone fits well with the vibe instead of a gentle tone. They're giving her more lines and they're not wasting any potential for her at all. How about we talk abou gaeul not having proper lines this comeback and leeseo getting the rapper role instead of gaeul which is pretty shady. Yall keep treating Liz as if she's still being put in the back by starship when they are clearly promoting her more properly now

    • @Welchs-Fruit-Snacks
      @Welchs-Fruit-Snacks Před měsícem +11

Leeseo's rap in kitsch got more praise than Gaeul's raps since Royal. Let's be real, Leeseo rapping was HEAVILY requested by K-Dives and since Leeseo is going to be an mc, I can see why they want to push her more. It's not shady to give Leeseo rap lines when in korean most of her fans praised her for her rap skills and it's not new that Starship listens to their k-fans more than their I-fans. Personally, I'm just glad that Gaeul got to lead the dance break. (She ate fr.)
Also, I agree. Liz is not being hidden nor is her talent being wasted. People need to understand that Liz is really not that popular in Korea and that's why Starship doesn't push her as much as her other members. We all know that Gaeul and Liz are not as popular in korea as their other members and that's why they're not being pushed as much. Still, that doesn't mean they're not being pushed at all.😶

Actually I like Liz, her smile after her high note in one of "I am" encore made me want to listen them after they made me sleep in their awards show stages.
So I was looking for her in this MV and she is almost all time on the back, and it is the same in most stages. I get if that is the formation but sometimes it seems her agency forgets she is the main vocal and the principal reason I know they will not be roasted in Lolapalooza. That woman seems to be abble to carry her whole group if needed in terms of vocals (but it seems the rest can stand their place just fine now).
Still I think she deserve to shinne more but given I do not know how they manage nor their line distribution nor their stages placement I will not come here usually claiming she is mistreated but I will not denny neither that it seems people forgives she is still the main vocalist given how few line she is given a lot of time in their main tracks.

1... I have not watched many of their performances but the ones I have watched... absolutely not...they perform like anybody would perform. like I guess people are just used to minimal facial expressions? idk they definitely got a feel for the song they perform and know what expression would go with the story and sound... which is good!
2... absolutely like I never got the It-girl thing cause to me it was a pretty useless title to begin with.... and to be fighting over it makes it even more useless...
3... I never kept up with that stupid drama but yeah I think leaving it between Min Heejin and Hybe is the best thing to do... idols already have so much things to do being involved with that won't make it any better.
4... FINALLY! someone who spoke my mind! like I here's the thing... Yeji is really good dancer but her shortcomings comes more in the dance technique and skills for me... for example... she does still have a bit of a tendency to overuse her energy to make her movement more powerful... but at the same time makes them look a little bit more sloppy because they are less controlled... but like I say that Yeji has greatly improved that flaw in the recent months like it used to be so much worse before... like I used to be scared that she would sprain her ankles or something- over dancing(which is completely different from over performing!) is a real thing and is not something to take lighlty... I myself have sprained my ankle because of it... not fun- while Chaeryeong also has some drawbacks... they mostly come in her facial expression and stage presence which.... is not really the same for me... also people always use those STUPID TIERS when they try and justify why Yeji is better.... I have been doing dancing for nearly 10 years... and never ONCE in those 10 years have I heard of a freaking high 5 tier or whatever it was wtf- like to me if you use to tiers... you loose all your credibility like.... please- they over simplify dancing to the core- and whenever I try and understand what they are based on it pops up more questions than answers in my head-
also yes... can we please get a chaeryeong dance break? I need it right now!
5.... Yeah this isn't like an opinion... this is just a fact.... like if we look at for example the doxxing on the rude photographers at the met gala against stray kids.... stays took it too far for me... doxxing someone is never the answer and will destroy the image of their idol... like I have said this many times but we as fans are actually the ones that make idols look bad... I admit myself I have had a few idols I had a grudge against solely because of their Stans being so overbearing...
6.... Yeah... like it was pretty obviously but it was off theme and just felt so bland like... I personally think it could have worked if it maybe had some floral and crystal jewelry to resemble the crystal flowers from the book cause the dress could resemble water... like honestly the outfit felt unfinished or like a base for something better...
7.... Now I don't think Liz is mistreated when it comes to her vocal showcase cause she had like second most lines in the group... it's only kitsch she has a very unfair line distribution... but yeah I do think she should have some more high notes...
8... yeah... like I do like their newer songs but I think because they started off with such out of the box and to me not good songs it reflects on their discography from the start and had to me left many people not wanting to see their songs now... which is unfortunate...
9.... no pretty much agree I mean everything should not become a big competition.. it has clearly divided society apart the more and more we do it...

For the Chaeryeong opinion, i personally think its ridiculous you're claiming she's being slept on as a dancer.
While I agree that she could be releasing dance covers outside of the group, the simple fact is that Chaer is an IDOL. Not a DANCER.
And when an idol performs on stage, people look at the ENTIRE performance; their facial expressions and how well they fit the concept they're performing. Their aura. The strength they put into their moves.
No matter how talented of a dancer an idol is, the fact is the average fan DOESN'T care and wants to see a performer that can sell them whatever emotion they're trying to portray.
This is why despite not being the best dancers in their group, idols like San, NingNing and Yunjin are so powerful on stage. It's about WHOLISTIC performances, not just dancing.
And if you're not a great performer, fans pay less attention to you and therefore your company won't see the need to push u forward.
Look at Leeseo from IVE. I was never (still am not anyways) a fan of IVE, and the fact that they had such young members was one of the reasons I was turned off from them. Not only is Leeseo the youngest member, in their debut era she never stood out on stage neither did she have any great talent or skills, so admittedly I paid no attention to her whatsoever. Then Baddie era came, and I don't know what happened to her but her stage presence shot through the frikken roof.
Fast forward to HEYA era and u can literally see how she was given more prominent center parts compared to before when she didn't stand out much. And she's still not close to the best dancer in IVE. In fact their best dancer, Gaeul, has such little presence compared to the rest that its Leeseo who's being given more center parts.
Kpop is about performance and not dancing, so Chaer has to be an all rounded performer and not just the best dancer. She's more flowy and sensual compared to Yeji who's more sharp and powerful, so it's not a matter of her being the "most talented" and more of a matter of which style u prefer. That's why both she AND Yeji are ITZY's main dancers, and why this narrative to make her seem better than Yeji is so stale and silly.
Because at the end of the day, even if she was the best dancer (which she isn't), she's not the best performer, in fact she's one of the least interesting members to watch in fancams and I don't mean it as hate at all; I've actually watched a few of them in their present era because of how insanely gorgeous she's been looking recently.
For that reason, she's not going to be given more center or killing parts anytime soon.
And what's funny is that both she and Yeji have AOTMs, but the interest in each reflects on how well or how poor of a performer each girl is and unlike a lot of groups currently, Yeji is one of the few idols who's talent and stage presence matches the popularity she has, so no, it's not that Yeji is being pushed or is liked simply because of her looks or whatever; she actually attracts and holds audience attention and until Chaer can do that nobody cares how good of a dancer she is.
