It's more complicated than that! Most of those homeless people had mental and drug problems it's not simply not being able to afford a place to live! There are shelters but many homeless people can't go because the shelters have rules about drugs!

It would take 165 hours a week at minimum wage to afford the current average cost of a 2 bedroom apartment.

The problem is we didn't all vote for this. Much of our state is red but we are controlled by a few large counties that are blue. I also don't trust our election system to be fair. A high density complex with less than 30 parking spaces. (90 apartments / 30 parking spaces) And since they took 10 million from the State, the complex is required to accept migrants as well. Just wait til the citizen find out!
They should do a study and document just how quick the place will be trashed.

Our church helped a 30 year old Homeless man get a Job and eventually get into Section 8 housing. He was absolutely stunned at how much work life was. He said that by the time he met all of his responsibilities he was absolutely exhausted. He didn't have any idea that people worked that hard. We all laughed at him and reminded him that since he lived in Section 8 housing we were still paying for most of his rent.
What jobs most people sit or stand around to get paid and do nothing at their jobs and act like they work so hard. Eventually a robot will be able to replace the human worker and I can't wait till that happens.

If your Repair doesn't work you fix it again without pay. In Healthcare people's lives depend on the Skillset of those providers. When they call a Code Blue overhead it's all hands on Deck.

Demonizing construction is a characteristic of selfish and arrogant people. Living on the streets is an absolute nightmare. You have harassment from various government departments 24 hrs a day. Homeless US citizens must be first. Solving our homeless problem is a priority.
I had rodents under my house, but being a kindly person I didn't want to hurt them. My dimlib neighbor said there were only a few so it would hurt to let them stay and maybe provide a bit of food. Now there are hundreds and since I didn't feed them enough they chewed into my house and raided my kitchen. They were supposed to just behave themselves once I fed them, but now,... I should probably move.
