      @gozardsmooth Před 5 měsíci

      Do you know how much per day it costs to house one of these people in a facility? Fat chance of that. To waste one dollar on drug treatment is obscene in an of its self. Just look at Hunter Biden alone, how many trips through the rehab do you think it will take? Probably 2 trips could put a kid through college. It is insane. They do not want these people in jails due to the cost and pain in the rump that they are. There are no real mental health services as it is, it is just a money grab. Nothing more.

    • @jeffalbillar7625

      There is a lot of hesitation on the part of the government concerning mental institutions because there were horrid conditions in mental institutions in the past.
      That is why they were all shut down previously.
      The living conditions were horrid and abuse was rampant.
      There would have to be a nationwide effort when it comes to operations of these institutions.
      There are many documentaries about mental institutions, psychiatric wards and sanitariums and their God awful history, and it would be criminal in our part to just let them open them back up without any oversight.
      But yes, I live in Orange County which is next to LA and you are absolutely correct about many being too far gone. ✊👊✌️

    Putting up small, 10x10 structures on empty lots with a common area restroom/showers and a 24 hr security guard would not take very long to make happen. Other communities have done this. Then each homeless person is given a choice: choose this housing along with accountability and mental health/ drug rehab services or become incarcerated. People that are mentally too far gone will need to be safely and humanely housed in a mental health facility. We need to start implementing these things now, not in the future.

    They’re most definitely is an agenda beyond all of this rhetoric. I used to work for the VA for 10 years, specifically in an area called HPACT. Its sole purpose was devoted to housing, homeless veterans, which they did a lousy job at. The state of California had allocated to them over $700 million to address the homeless situation. It is beyond me to understand the rationale behind the methods they’re taking to so-call address this catastrophe. With all of these empty, unoccupied, warehouses strip malls, and even some hotels and motels across this whole state, are you telling me that they don’t have the power, to change some planning and zoning codes to accommodate what they claim they’re trying to address with an urgency? These people need to be audited from the mayor on down. This money is going somewhere and is definitely not to the homeless. They need to also initiate an intense mental health component to housing many of these people. a high percentage of them suffer from mental illness, and even if you house them there’s no guarantee That they will remain. I’m not an expert, but even with the little knowledge that I have regarding this issue, it’s totally infuriates me that the people who are supposed to have the answers no less than I do.

    Seen a need and wanted to make a difference and so I opted to work for homelessness. Was told 20 ppl died before getting there. Once I realized the company I did work for did not care if people used drugs in the hotel rooms, I quit after 7 days. To date, I’m told about 50 people have died since then. My take. As long as upper management is getting a paycheck, they didn’t care.
    Homeless should not be short term. Long term is the solution. Just like Finland adopted LA’s plan, they took it further and made it long term.
    Ps. Skin Row should be renamed as, The Love Row. It would help remove stigma and it might bring more love.
    Everyone is deserving of love.

  • @bamby5211
    @bamby5211 Před 4 měsíci

    Of course it's going into politician's pockets to fund their fancy car's, Home's along with anything glamorous and upkeep, Fancy Restaurant's. I recall about 4-6 year's ago when the city of LA was talking about shutting down the school's because they did not according to them have the money to keep them open. They then wrote up a bill that would raise the taxes. When that did not go well for them they all of a sudden found fund's in the DWP account. It's not rocket science that they are NOT allocating the money where it needs to be... The money missing was intended to be used for the homeless population that we have seen triple just in the last two year's. Nobody can convince me that every dollar was spent for that said purpose considering that we all have witnessed the homeless population triple. If the money had been allocated for the actual purpose it was meant for we would be witnessing a decrease of people being homeless. City/County gov does it all of the time... They waste the tax dollars and or money meant for specific programs and such and when something comes up they all panic and try and recoup the money that they wasted by creating a new bill to raise taxes etc... It's never ending, And all of these people live the high life while the homeless and everyone else suffer.
